1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is wet & miserable with a chilly breeze. Having felt a little better yesterday, I am back to feeling 😣 today.
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear about your friend’s Mum 😔 Condolences to your friend & her family & to you. Hopefully now that the cabin is booked, you will be able to book the hawk walk as well 🤞 Good luck with your new plan to sort your clothes 🍀 I think you were describing me - “clothes……they get washed and put back on the top of the pile ………” 😅 Thank you for the information about flour - a bit gross but very useful advice 🙂 I can see a couple of projects in my future: 1. Creating enough room in the freezers to store flour 2. going through my flour stores & seeing what can be saved or used & biting the bullet if it has to be binned 3. making sure I have suitable containers when the flour has had its 7 days in the freezer. Well done on the decluttering & finishing the scarf 👏
vulpix, thanks for you for the information about Blue John 😊 It did send me down a rabbit hole - it is so beautiful 😍 Fingers crossed that your daffodils show themselves soon 🤞
Nice to see you tibawo 👋 Well done on listing your clothing & not waiting for your girls to do it 👏 Hope everything is snapped up & that you can ‘feed the big whiskey jar’ 😊 Very impressed at your purchase of a mini portable dish washer 👏 & it sounds like you get a lot done in the 29 minute run time 🥳 Fingers crossed that your sinus issues clear up quickly 🤞
foxandflowers, you sound like my DH - he does love his Excel spreadsheets 😊 I find it very interesting & it sounds like it has been an excellent exercise for you 🥳 Well done on both the decluttering & the bringing in more money than you have spent 👏
Brie, fingers crossed that the buyer turned up on time 🤞Well done to OH for cleaning the lounge 👏
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 although I do think your cats are taking it a bit too far by continuing to break things 😉 When you do get your new matching mugs I think the cats might have to be banned 😂
Brie, so pleased that we were all worrying for nothing 😮💨 Brilliant news that you have sold the Ercol furniture & that you have the cash safely set aside 👏😊
QueenJess, your approach to emails is rather fascinating “I have randomly written down the folders and the number of emails and am going through one by one looking to reduce the size of each folder by about half as a starting point.” but sounds like it is working well 👏 More excellent decluttering in DS’s room 👏 Just wondering if DS is competitive 🤔 as the 2 little girls in last night’s Sort Your Life Out got rid of a lot of ‘stuff’ 😉 Congratulations on reaching your 2nd target 👏 I am sending you a Gold Star ⭐️ to accompany your silver medal
Oh TC77 😔 - sounds like you are burning the candle at both ends - you really need to rest 🙏 especially as you have now been advised to by a doctor. As to your next sentence “Came home decided to take cup of tea and toast to bed to watch TV with my legs up, and balanced plate and mug only for there not to be enough room, so one broken plate decluttered and lots of kitchen roll mopping up (no damage to me) but another reminder for the need to declutter.” wagging finger emoji - need to REST is way more important than need to declutter 🙏🙏 Please take it easy today when visiting DD2. Cwtches 🤗 coming your way.
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏 & congratulations on reaching 25% of your target in less than 2 months - one Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 😊
EnergyShifter, those sleep pods are marvellous & not that far away from the TLC Carriage 😊
Lovely post Moorviews 😊 It would seem that our mice are way too busy working out ways to eat the bird food in the garden box, to consider risking life & limb coming out into the open to eat bulbs 😉 - a couple of neighbourhood cats are quite often to be seen staring longingly at the garden box 😂
Wednesday2000, good luck with your new exercise regime 🍀 Walking to the beach does sound far nicer than using a treadmill 😉
London_1, pleased to hear that your Russian roulette turned out so well 😊 Shame about the neighbour & her OH 😔 although it does sound like they are made for each other 😉 Good luck with the lower kitchen cupboards & rehoming “prized kitchen stuff no longer used” 🍀
Good decluttering GrannyKate 👏 & fingers crossed for a great valuation from the EA 🤞
~FlowerPot~, excellent decluttering 👏
Florafauna, fingers crossed that your offer is accepted 🤞 Thank you for your sage advice (not preachy at all) - we often get so caught up in decluttering that we forget why we are decluttering in the first place 😔
~FlowerPot~, at least you can live vicariously through other people’s tales of moving 😊
Brie, fingers crossed that the chap turns up for the excess counter 🤞 Great decluttering 👏
Liverpool_Anne, a busy day yesterday 👏 & well done on tackling the storage on your kindle 😊 Watching “Breathtaking” has brought into sharp focus how appalling our government was & still is. Like you I have been crying whilst watching 😢 Fingers crossed that you can find a suitable portable dishwasher 🤞
QueenJess, I agree with you about the choice of families for Sort Your Life Out - it would be nice to see a family who just need help due to normal life 🤞 Excellent email decluttering 👏 Wishing you continued success with the craft stuff & clothes decluttering 😊
DH popped out to the local pharmacy & picked up some cough medicine for me - pharmacist recommended. I have had my first dose - revolting stuff but hopefully that means it will work 😉 He has also zizzed vegetable peelings etc for the worms 🙂
See you all later. Good news is that it has stopped raining 😊

chap showed up to look at the counter and is seriously interested and happy with the price but there's a lot of extra stuff that might be of use for his van refit (!!) and his mom needs some wood as well so he's gone home without paying anything or taking anything away. He says he's get back in touch to come tonight or maybe tomorrow which is fine. Turns out he lives very close by so once I know he's coming it should be a quick turn around.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hello all
Just back from a lovely pub tea, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding. Very good. Still waiting to hear on the house offer. After we got home, I started repainting the bedroom, varnished two window sills and cleaned all the windows. Also got rid of a
Bee brooch
Bodylotion
Tray
Angel decoration
Latch hook kit
Picture frame
Curtain
3 OOD homeopathic meds
Just watching Sort your Life out then planning an early night20 -
Evening declutterati friends
I've managed to offload 2 bags for the CS via DD1's friend who works for aged in the UK; dropped off a load of used stamps at the Zero Waste Shop plus one used ink cartridge. I also finished typing up some confidential notes for one of my self employment roles and shredded my notes straight away! I've been to the hairdressers and decluttered all my grey (temporarily) !
I haven't watched Sort Your Life Out yet - might save it for the weekend for more inspiration...
Love to all

Evening, all, just a quick visit with the numbers (I live in a certain Midlands city in financial straits and they've announced cuts to the arts which is the area where I work... So I'll keep quiet on that topic.)
Since I last dropped in:
529-531: bags of rubbish to the big bin
532-534: bags of recycling to the big bins
535-614: items to recycling and rubbish
615: dead batteries to the recycling point
616-618: confidential stuff to shredder
619-625: 350 emails out
626-648: 23GB data deleted.
Old stuff out: another 15 decisions made for a new total of 34.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

On my way back from the Midlands City hacknf seen dd2 and been to the art gallery ( the bit that's open). My bday in a few weeks so she wanted to get me a pressie but really don't want / need much. Decided on some book marks and found some nice v&A ones as I'm stating to read on my way to work and can never remember what page I'm on and tend to have a couple of books on the go, coffee and dinner out. Did buy some jeans ( reduced) but will find something to go out. Think before covid since I bought any ( just remembered bought some last month in cs but they are on the tight side!).ah will have to find something to go out at weekend.
Work tomorrow but should have Friday off and will keep chores for then.
Take care all and a reminder for people to take care of themselves as Mrs sd has reminded me17 -
