Good morning, last night dh and I worked out this reel to reel tape machine and at first there was nothing playing and I thought the music was 'lost' and it was just one of those things and then we heard my dad playing his guitar. I haven't cried like that since he died, I was so sure it wouldn't work that I didn't consider how I would feel if it did 😌. Even dh was crying. So now the next stage is to work out how to record the music off and then see which of the tapes work. About 100 to work through so will be an ongoing 🐸.
Today, feeling inspired by Stacey and Dilly, I am going to strip, sort and systemise ds room. I repainted it before Xmas as he is getting a big boy bed (and it will take up half of his bedroom). Today is the day to finish the room off and build the bed 😊.
Hope you all have a lovely day.2024 decluttering Campaign

Hi gang, hope you are all well. So sorry haven' been on here recently but I think my hiatus from social media kind of sneaked over to looking at the internet and my bookmarks on here... Apart from popping the lists on the Flylady thread and maybe a post of two on there I've been very quiet everywhere, but I think it's time for me to resurface and say hello to the world again, and yes that does mean FB etc... Although I may not be on there as much as I was beforehand, mainly because I've actually liked not having the drama and having to scroll through so many posts on FB etc... (except MSE that is.._)
But in my absence my DH has been very busy decluttering on my behalf, decluttering the packing in one of the spare rooms here. Bless him he didn't even do what was going to be his train room as he knew I wanted to start using this room as my room for my crafting etc... Anyway he bought the boxes down and I sorted through them, well actually I was very good and threw most of the things away.. I know I kept saying I wish I could just throw everything away and I didn't think I could actually do it but I surprised myself and actually did..
I'm not sure how many days we did the decluttering for but everytime DH brought a box down I literally threw everything out to the tip or charity shop. I can't actually believe how much stuff I had bought that was still in the original packagingI actually think between us we got rid of nearly all the room. I now have a room that I can walk into now, and only packing boxes lined up against one wall. Its so nice to actually be able to open the window in there to air it now, plus the neighbours at the back of us don't have to look at boxes as high as the ceiling out the window...lol So in the next few days I'm going to clean the floor, put the curtains that I have, for the windows, up, install the portable tv in there and put the rocking chair in there. I might even take up the bookcase from the living room to this room, that way DH will get the idea to put one of the shelves up in the living room...lol
I promise not to be just a lurker...
Anyway this is what we got rid of....lol- 10 boxes and gods knows how much stuff that wasn't even packed.
- My old car, this wasn't in the room I exchanged it for my new car.

I had another flare-up of costochondritis yesterday and realised it must be from using my umbrella. I hurt my thoracic muscle a few years ago and I think holding my umbrella is aggravating it. I have had to order a hooded jacket for this weekend as it is supposed to rain and I'm going to London. I did buy a rainproof bucket hat as well. What do people use instead of umbrellas?
I did see you can buy a detachable hood that you can keep in your bag and it attaches to any jacket, but I couldn't find it apart from in the US. I'm going to have to google.
I was supposed to declutter some hair yesterday, but my hairdresser had to cancel as she has had some more health problems in her family. I was glad as I was in bed taking ibuprofen and not feeling my best. I feel really sorry for her as she has had one thing after another the past year.
I feel much better today and the sun is out which is a relief. It has been raining so much here lately. I have the donation bag by the front door and will take it today or tomorrow. I need to dust the house today so I will go through each room and see if there is anything to add.

Done some more of my loft project and more rubbish out the shed and have washing on the line so I feel like I achieved something
Kitchen will be fitted Easter weekend which is sooner than I thought 😀 making a list of what I still need to order and cooker extractor and glass splashback are next on list to research but I've found what tiles I have left as we did one wall already but it was in 2019 and thanks to life we never got rest done 🫣

Hi all, I did end up falling asleep yesterday after not sleeping during the night but I had to go to the bank and sort a couple of things so I was pleased with that and I remembered to take the things I had sorted from the advent calender that I won't use to the meet up with ex colleagues. 9 things gone there and the scarf
. One friend who I worked with very closely asked what I had done with the real Anne, as I was getting rid of things
. The lady I gave the scarf to loved it so that was nice. I did take a photo which I will post later. I slept for England last night but so far today I have binned a uu notebook, new one from stash ready to use, and emptied the bathroom bin, just having a ponder now as the sun is out and wondering if I should do a bit in the garden. Load of washing in the machine which might make it onto the like
@Vulpix thank you for the recommendations, they have been added to the list for consideration and consultation with everyone though we have agreed we don't have to do everything together and I think our friend is looking forward to having some son free time as he is happy to do things with OH. We are not going until the first week in June so lots of time to investigate what we might like to do
@Florafauna thank you for the recommendations, good pub food is always welcome. Bakewell pudding will be investigated although Bakewell tart is also welcome
@Dfw38 how lovely to be able to hear your Dad again. I am not sure where but I am fairly sure there are places that would convert the reel to reels into a digital format but I expect it would be expensive, hope you find a way, hugs
@Wednesday2000 I must admit I often don't use an umbrella just relying on the hood of my coat or I just get wet hair. I tend to the theory that it is only water and will dry but I have short hair that doesn't take long to sort although I do remember a couple of occasions getting soaked to my underwear
Well the sun is still out so heading into the garden for a bit of a tidy up. Hugs to everyone who would like one
280 bank things sorted
281-289 toiletry things given away
290 scarf delivered
291 bathroom bin emptied

Take care everyone

Had a rifle through my desk drawers in a break and found loads of stuff to go and not even finished looking in there. Will do more later if I have a break otherwise I will just get on with some tidying. Washing already done and hung up for the day, although I have to remake the beds before we can all sleep this evening!Physical:New total = 4,438

Liverpool Anne - I have shoulder length hair and I wear makeup so I can't just let myself get wet unless I want to look a complete sight, lol.
I am going to ask my friends what they think when I see them in London tomorrow and I'm going to do some people watching and see what other people do to keep dry without umbrellas. I did buy this waterproof bucket hat but I don't know what it will look like on me!
I dusted and put a bathroom cleaning bottle, a conditioner bottle and a hand wash bottle into the recycling bin and emptied it outside to the shed. I emptied the wastepaper bins into the main bin. I did find a tube of ibuprofen gel that I got recently from my GP that I think would work better than taking ibuprofen tablets. My house is quite minimalist, but I still forget that I have things unless I go through everything regularly. I went for a walk and took the glass bottles to the bin. It is fairly warm outside.
My husband just went to Aldi to buy a couple of things and he took the donation bag to the nearby charity shop. I didn't find anything else to add to the bag in the end. It was a fairly big bag and it was totally full.
I have just used some bendy carrots to add to some leftover curry that I had for lunch.

6/52 - my high school blazer to the bin. This was a bigger deal than it should have been. Not sure why as I hadn't looked at in in years. Feel chuffed it's gone.
7/52 - 2 pairs of shoes to the bin. Part of a bigger job of clearing out a wardrobe that has fallen victim to damp. The shoes were too far gone.
8/52 - a pair of jeans and a belt to the bin due to damp damage.18 -
Rude chap about the stuff I was selling came back with some sensible answers as to why he thought the price was too high. I did ask if he would go a bit above the price he suggested but it's been radio silence since so I don't think he's that interested. But no other nibbles. So now I have to decide whether I relist again at a lower price (again) or just give up and take it to a charity that I know will use it.
(edit) and also realised that I (aka we) have all weekend to empty the room of doom of leftover kitchen building stuff, assorted tat, dirty curtains and left over paint tins in anticipation of a room full of furniture that's being delivered on Tuesday. I have a plan of how I want to do this but don't know if "we" will agree. Maybe a big drop in the price of the counter wood would help clear some head space if nothing else (it's not in the room currently)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Made a start on paperwork pile - some old lists used as fire lighters and other bits of paper in recycling bin. Also moved a few things around in COD so that it works better. Need to clear car out over the weekend as it is being picked up on Monday to be assessed for repairs. Feels good to be getting on with things after a week spent dealing with insurers and hospitals etc.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅18
