Thank you Floss, just seen all the typos as my fingers are too big for the phone!
I look round and see things I've had and either not used or not for a long time and some one else could use, going to try and keep this in mind. I think I use very regularly perhaps 3% of things ( more by volume) and probably about 15% I need often.
Hope folks have a peaceful weekend and take care of yourselves19 -

No further real decluttering except for a pile of laminate floorboards that have been in the hall for a year have now moved... because they have BECOME the floor! Actual DIY happened!
Also, whoever recommended Sort Your Life Out, thank you. That episode with the widowed fella and his little girls was so lovely.Keep reading books!

Soontobeoap said:What is it with dust in bedrooms. Its only been a month since i hoovered under the bed and there was so much again today. I brush my hair, iron, dry ourselves etc all in other rooms that dont get anywhere near as dusty. Should i be hoovering under there more often. Its such a pallaver as its built in so i have to move the mattress and hoover through the slats!!!! How often do other people do it?
Anyway. 8 cot sheets given to a new granny, 2 Jam jars to a friend for marmalade making and 4 books sent to my sister. Counting as half a bin bag.
DS’s bed always has stuff (including a spare bed under it). Never hoover under there unless I’m pulling it out to retrieve stuff from behind the bed that’s fallen down by the wall. Can’t even remember the last time I did that.
DD’s bed every week it is stripped, pulled out from the wall and everything hoovered. She sometimes snacks in bed and makes a total mess!2025 decluttering: 2,449🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

Hi all, went a bit mad today
. I put the washing on the line and then went into the front garden to clear some leaves into the green waste bin. About 2 bin bags full done so far but there are more to do. While I was working away with the spade and the yard brush a flat back pulled up and the driver started talking to me. Explained he was a roofer and construction person, did I want someone to clear the front and treat the block paving? No it's ok I have a jet wash so do it myself. Further conversation with me insisting I don't want it and him trying to sell me on the benefits etc. Then we get onto his trade and I said could you replace those facia boards, been trying to get them done since last August. Yes he says and starts showing me loads of pictures in a file. Just like next door I say but brown. Yes we can do that. Also need the chimney pointing can you do that? Yes but it doesn't look like it needs it. It's worse on the back so can you sort it or not. Yes. Right how much and when can you do it? Price agreed and he's coming on Monday
. We will have to wait and see if he actually arrived
Tomorrow I will have to go back to the bank again to move some money around to pay him
. Not sure it's the cheapest price but as he's the only person who has actually given me a quote of the many I have asked to come and have a look I don't care I just want it done. While talking to him it started raining so the washing was wet again by the time I got it in and onto the maiden
. Also 2 LDFPA, lr bin emptied, kitchen bin emptied, pair of dead slippers binned, they have been hanging around for ages while I decided if I needed them, I don't I have 3 other pairs. I sorted through OH's cake decorating stuff and ood stuff put in the bin. Then when OH got home discovered the boiler pressure had dropped so there is no hot water. I hadn't had the heating on at all so hadn't noticed and there was hot water when I had showered. I went to sort that immediately so OH has no excuse not to do the washing up
and in front of the boiler cupboard is a bag of papers so after I sorted the boiler I went through the bag and emptied it into the file or the recycling
. Then after tea the union thing was moved on
I have caught up with the posts but not much has stuck tonight, sorry, so will say hugs to anybody who would like one
293 kitchen bin
294 lr bin
295 + 296 garden waste

Thursday it rained practically all day. DH & DSis managed to get indoors with the shopping without getting too wet 😉. Dinner was ordered-in burgers & chips. DH & DSis then spent the evening packing 😉 Not sure I ever mentioned why we bought the car 🤔 There was a specific reason - the 3 of us had been invited on a boating holiday with DH’s niece G & her husband E - as a practice for them buying a canal boat to live on. A motorbike doesn’t really work for 3 people to get anywhere 🤣 DH & my DSis left Friday morning at 09:30 with car fully packed - clothing, DSis’s CPAP, cameras & electricals & quite a bit of food. I took the decision not to go as still feeling unwell & really didn’t want to pass on any germs. Nor did I wish to put a dampener on everyone else’s enjoyment. Truth be told I am quite looking forward to having the house to myself for 2 weeks & only having myself to please as to what & when to eat 😉 although I will miss cuddling my DH 😔 I did stay up all last night to make sure I got to say a proper goodbye to them both before they left this morning 😊 So today has been a bit of a nothing day although I did sort out a rather bedraggled house plant which despite not being watered in weeks (& should have died) has new shoots 😮 All the dead foliage has been removed, extra compost added & properly watered. Now I just have to decide on its new home 🤔 I also cleared the coffee table that DSis uses, polished & put back some of the items - a few bits binned & a few bits relocated. The rest of the day has been taken up with napping, knitting & watching TV. DH phoned at 13:30 - they were stuck on a motorway in very slow moving traffic ☹️ DH phoned again at 17:00 - everyone was on the boat (including 2 dogs) but because they had arrived later than intended the boat was staying in the marina overnight & they are setting off tomorrow. The journey to Cheshire was a bit of a nightmare - as well as the heavy traffic they had hail & lots of rain, although at the time of phoning it was in DH’s words “a glorious evening” As opposed to here where the rather chilly overcast day turned into a thunderstorm 😔 Dinner consisted of a couple of ‘needing to be used up’ snacks from the fridge.
297 - 302 Kitchen & office recycling, 3 newspapers, drinks cans - recycled
303 Kitchen detritus binned
I was going to attempt a catch up on the cheerleading but have just woken up from a 2 hour sleep so am off to bed 😉 Cwtches to all 🥰

Morning, moving forward with various different projects which is always pleasing! I called the dwp yesterday to chase if a decision had been made and it had. A letter was sent out the day after I called but I haven't received it! So glad I called because we owe some money (nowhere near what I feared) and you only get a month to pay it 😯. All paid last night and going to transfer the dsibs money third to each of them and I am done. 11 months after dad died, I have completed everything except scattering the ashes. The relief I feel is immense,.had a Great night's sleep (managed to get 7 hours whereas I normally have 4/5) . Had some happy tears, a Chinese takeaway and some ice cream to celebrate.
Today I need to catch up on a few things and hit the diy shop for my next project and tonight book the ferry for us to go and scatter mum and dad in a couple of months time. Dsis wants us to wait even longer but both dbro and I feel it is time. (This is the dsis who arranged with the undertakers for the funeral to be the day before dad's birthday 🤨). Mum has been 'waiting' for over 5 years now.
Feel a lot lighter and just have to wait for a duplicate letter from dwp so I can file it and then I can put my folder away and hopefully never look at it again.
Hope you feel better soon Mrs SD and hope you all have a lovely weekend 😘.2024 decluttering Campaign

I went to bed as soon as I posted 😊 However after lying awake for over an hour I got up, put my dressing gown on & went into the wardrobe room aka Room of Doom. I grabbed a carrier bag, a small crate & 2 first aid boxes & brought them downstairs - all of them full of stuff brought over from France nearly 6 years ago 😦 I was brutal - binning so many ood tubes/bottles of lotions & potions & ood otc meds, plasters etc that I managed to condense what was left (including the 2 first aid boxes) into the crate 🥳
304 - 305 Two inches of packaging & leaflets recycled
306 - 315 Ten tubes/bottles/packs of ood lotions etc binned
As I am still not sleepy, I am on my 2nd hot drink & have watched an episode of Wild Isles.
Excellent decluttering of frogs Dfw38 👏 Fingers crossed that both Mum’s jewellery sorting & the sorting/listening to your Dad’s tapes can both be successfully tackled over the next couple of months 🤞Please, please take your time 🙏
Brie, I agree with Floss - there is no need for anyone to be rude ☹️
Florafauna, pleased to hear that your offer has been accepted 😊 Good luck with both the survey & your decluttering/prepping for the sale of your house 🍀
Thanks QueenJess 👏 Another excellent decluttering session 👏 & fingers crossed that you will soon be able to tackle your final layer of decluttering 🤞
TC77, round storage jars are so much more aesthetically pleasing but they do take up an inordinate amount of space 😔 Some great decluttering & well done on finding another CS for the potentially more expensive items that you are decluttering 👏 Good luck with your frogs 🍀 Hope you have a lovely time with your friend over the weekend 😊
Great decluttering ilovetea 👏
diminua, well done as your in/out counting 👏 shows you are still on target as only eight weeks have passed & you are on net 12 out 🥳
Dfw38, so pleased that you have worked out how to listen to your Dad’s tapes 😊 Tears of happiness can be so cathartic 😊 Fingers crossed that you managed to get DS’s bedroom sorted 🤞
I have finished my cup of cocoa & am finally starting to feel sleepy so I am off to bed 🙂 Fingers crossed that I fall asleep immediately 🤞
