Hi chums, well two bags of clothes decluttered ready for the CS already. I started early, then stopped for half an hour just now as Ben popped in on his way to the station, as he is off back to London, to hopefully find his passport for his flight tomorrow with his brother to Marrakesh. They are going for a short break and some sunshine
My eldest DD had left a shirt her son had forgotten last time he was home from NYC and he said Ben could have it, its a nice designer one and never been worn, so ben happily picked it up so another bit gone from my house ,He had a quick coffee with me and a natter and off he went, he will text me when he gets back there as I always like to know he is ok and back home safely .
I have heard all the fuss in the news about Taylor Swift and I'm afraid I never listen to modern music at all so I can honestly say I couldn't tell you what sort of stuff she sings as I've never herd it . But then I only listen to LBC or Radio Four or Classic FM.
I stopped listening to pop stuff in the late 1990s when it seemed to be just nowhere near as melodic as it used to be. seemed to be getting a bit too violent for me
I do like Robbie Williams and have been to see him in concert with my youngest DD three times and he seems to be quite a good entertainer , We also saw U2 twice as its her favourite band, but the second time we went to Amsterdam for a long weekend and the concert was part of the package, they were 50 minutes late on stage, and barely did an hours performance, and DD said she wouldn't waste the money going again as she thought they had not given value for money (a definite daughter of mine) but we had a great weekend in the city as we really like Amsterdam, and have been there several times.
Right enough waffling its back to the upstairs wardrobe for more bagging up of stuff There's another viewing tomorrow so I want to get more stuff out. Its apparently a first time buyer that obviously has no chain so fingers crossed
Cheers chums have a good day

Back to the minimalising of digital admin/life (but not back to photos yet..). More online accounts deleted and a bunch more requested, so hopefully those will also be deleted soon. Also waiting on the rest of a frog I've been dealing with for a while... hoping I will hear back later and be able to close that one down. Sadly closing accounts and things seems to necessitate more emails to do so, so my inbox is still not shrinking. Hoping once I closed lots of accounts the emails will start to go down. I can but hope! Would love to hit inbox zero and have fewer than 10 emails to clear on a daily basis (I hate admin).May be back later if I have time to go through more, but spending the day with DS and off bowling later whilst also looking for glasses frames and then doing the library and taking DS swimming. So I may be just collapsing into a chair later!Got two weeks left to declutter and organise myself as much as possible before the new job starts and I will have to be putting in some serious effort there! Got 6 months probation
, but it's the type of work I love and hoping that working hard will pay dividends if I can get a promotion and the potential bonuses look good. If I get there then I'll have made it career wise!

Absolutely exhausted so I'm sure nothing above basics will get done today18 -
Morning folks
@London_1 radio 4 is my most common listen in the house. Apparently I'm too young for radio 4 according to my sisters, but I'm 40, and I prefer learning and thinking to just hearing the same regurgitated modern pop songs. When I'm in the mood for music, it's generally Absolute Classic Rock. Good luck prepping for viewing
I did my crafting drawers. +20 discarded bits of paper crafting either for recycling or to pass on. I realised my journal hasn't been writing in since the Queen died. Oops.
Edit to add: also +2 for my blood pressure monitor that has lost pressure through the cuff, which I can't find a decent cheap replacement for, just as cheap to recycle it and start overMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Happy to have got a refund from the household shop but balanced that out by picking up an order I'd done for some holiday clothes. Problem is what does one need for a cruise to Norway - nice stuff for on board and cold weather stuff for on shore. So I order a huge amount knowing that a lot will be returned (my usual tactic). Problem is it's in a massive box that barely fit in the back of the car so I have to woman-handle that into the house.
Then I'll declutter a lot of hair as I've finally arranged to have a hair cut. Might be able to pick up something nice for dinner from the farm shop I pass to and from my hair guy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. 1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is another overcast drizzly day. DSis has texted a couple of times - she slept well but only for 5 hours. She has finished her course of antibiotics - so hopefully that means the infection has gone 🤞 This morning she had a visit from the physiotherapist to practise walking up & down stairs + learning some breathing exercises. Her sats are still dropping a bit too low when moving around but are starting to recover to a better level more quickly 😊
Lovely post Florafauna 😊 & some great decluttering 👏 I think that if you are going to continue wild water swimming then your long sleeved neoprene swimsuit is an excellent investment 😊 Fingers crossed that the scarf will soon be finished 🤞I am hoping for a photo 🙏
Muddy_Walker, thank you for the information 👏
Lovely post London_1 😊 I do hope they made you pancakes as an incentive to give up your cups of tea for 40 days 😉 Good luck 🍀
flamingo747, do I take it that you are giving up chocolate for 40 days 😉
Brie, very droll 😅
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏 Decluttering surfaces is a great start & once you are happy with that, you can then tackle cupboards & drawers one at a time 😊 Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day 😉
Brambling, sounds like your neighbour thrived 😅 I would definitely donate the plates to CS - someone might be trying to replace missing parts of their set 😊
vulpix, what a rude hospital secretary 😾 sounds like he/she needs to be sent on a course 😔 Keeping everything crossed that there will be a quick resolution & that MrV will be started on his treatment very quickly 🤞 Sounds like you thrive on moving & property renovations 😊 Excellent decluttering of fabric/yarn stash 👏 What a lovely gift from MrV 😊 Salad Sister has now been in hospital for a week & is finally on the mend, I am hopeful that she will be home soon 🤞
Fizz2015, lovely to spend time with your Mum & how nice of her to help with your decluttering 🥳 Perhaps next time she visits you can surprise her by having thinned out your clothing 😉 Hope you have a lovely few days in West Wales 🤞😊
Excellent decluttering London_1 👏 Everything crossed that DGS Ben finds his passport quickly 🤞 The whole Taylor Swift thing is completely over my head - I don’t watch the news or read newspapers & I mainly ignore any celebrity gossip in my one weekly magazine 😉 plus I thought Taylor was a boys name 🤣 Just shows how out of touch I am 🤣 Such a shame about the U2 concert but at least you & DD enjoyed your time in Amsterdam 😊 Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s viewing 🤞
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Good luck with the moody 11 y.o. 🍀 Hope you have a lovely break with DD & the DGC 😊
Excellent digital decluttering QueenJess 👏 & everything crossed that the frog is finally munched 🤞I find that admin can be quite tedious 😔 especially when you have done all the work & the companies then keep bombarding you with emails for months after you have finished 😾 Not quite sure if they just don’t realise how annoying it is or just don’t care 🤷♂️ Hope you have a lovely day with DS & that he is exhausted as you are at the end of the day 😉 Good luck with your concerted efforts to get the decluttering & tidying done in the next two weeks 🍀 so that you can devote the requisite amount of time to shining in your new job 😊 Exciting times ahead 🤩
Crazycatlady2, sorry to hear you are so exhausted 😔 Please pop into the TLC Carriage & have a rest 🙏
Excellent decluttering flamingo747 👏 Hopefully you get back to journaling 🤞
Brie, great news that you got a refund rather than a credit note 😊 Good luck going through your large box of clothing 🍀 When is your cruise to Norway?
Great decluttering Rootle 👏
All done 👍 DH has been busy - fed the worms & the birds 👏 but rather annoyingly the new bird feeder stand bought in November has snapped at ground level (leaving a 9” spike in the ground) so the old ugly one is back up 😔 Good job DH hadn’t got around to disposing of it 😮💨 I did ask DH if he would be complaining as it is only 3 months old but no - apparently no point as it is from China 😔 DH is now in the car for another session of getting used to the controls 😊 Meanwhile I will post this & then have a long hot bath in an attempt to sweat out my cold 😉

Hello
Found this thread from a signature in the save 12k in 2024 thread. What a busy group. Can I hop on board please?
Not sure of a specific target yet. Like the idea of weighing, but wouldn't find that practical. I will create a list of declutter jobs. Won't be too hard, as I could copy and paste from the lists here.
House is quite cluttered. I have lots of clothes I don't wear, but can find it hard getting rid of them.
Would be interested to know any top tips. I will mainly have short periods of time for clearing and tidying, as we have a small child. I work at home a lot, so hoping to set some time aside daily.
Hoping this thread will help. It looks like great motivation!18 -
Hi Everyone,
I have been following this thread for a while, you all seem so lovely and motivating. I’m a newbie to decluttering and keen to take it seriously this year after a long time just thinking about it. I’m going to aim for 366/366 initially. So far this week:
1 empty perfume bottle
2 crumpled gift bags
1 broken drinking glass
1 outer packaging moisturiser
1 leaflet
Total: 6/366
