Hi all, had a couple of lazy days. Saturday I went to the footy, Sunday just mooched about throwing odd bits into various bins and read a book, today I was taxiing for OH for a hospital appointment. In between times I have 2 LDFPA, emptied the kitchen bin, kitchen recycling, bathroom bin and lr bin. I have done some knitting and caught up with a few friends via text. 2 items into the cs bag and 3 loads of washing through the machine and on the maiden. Tomorrow we are out for tea with ln which is our last delayed christmas activity
.
I have caught up with posts but it's not all stuck so hugs to anybody who would like one
@Vulpix why are you getting a house valuation? You're not planning another move are you?
@Mrs SD hope the salad sister is still on the road to recovery. I so agree with the comment about salad sister returning to the salad bowl, so funny

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Finally back & have done 2 x LDFPA. Watched some TV, did some knitting & had several catnaps 😊 DH got back from his driving practice at 17:00 - another successful session, had a coffee & set off for the hospital 17:45. Phoned a few minutes later & the buses still aren’t running properly 😔 so he treated himself to a cab. As well as the CPAP, DH took DSis’s dressing gown, a flask of tea & a carton of milk. DSis was feeling a lot better - nose unblocked so could breathe easier + the nurses/doctors were regularly monitoring her blood sugar levels which had settled down. She also managed to have a shower as DH was about so could call a nurse if there were any issues 😉 By the time DH left at gone 20:15 the buses were running again so he was home about 21:15. Dinner was bacon & egg sandwiches - 2 for DH & 1 for me. Wudupa.
250 - 251 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
252 Kitchen detritus binned
BudgetingBelinda, you are definitely on a roll 👏 More excellent decluttering 👏 & you got so much done that I am awarding you another Gold Star ⭐️
On that happy note, I am off to bed & will do the cheerleading when I get up 😉 Sleep tight 💤

Started out feeding the three cats. None of them are lap cats. My next cat has to want to cuddle. These don't.
Did two loads of laundry. Have cut my wardrobe too much I think. Including the kitchen towels and the bathroom towels, the two loads contained almost my entire wardrobe. Just have a couple of sweaters that I haven't worn yet this year.
Worked on the indexing program for the Swiss parish. Marriage this time I have done the first fifty years. Only one hundred years left to go - hope to finish listing them by the end of the week. Then I will enter them in the excel program. Have already started sorting the birth records by family. There are no death records for the time period so it is going to require that I check the witnesses at the baptisms as my last step.
Went to the library to do some sorting - our book sale is already coming up this week. I love the way @mehefin's library looks. Really great, very relaxing. I like the shelves for the puzzles too. Every time I visited in the British Isles I would plan to spend at least part of a day at the local library. I like to read cook books, personal finance books, and ecology books the most. Prefer doing that to visiting castles or historic houses. I also prefer visiting the ironmongers, the chemists, grocery stores, and department stores too rather than most sightseeing. Open-air museums though are great. I wish we had more of them here (I only know of two!).
Decluttered bag of books to library (all mysteries - have emptied one shelf so far) and several puzzles. Today is also trash-out day. Two bags of trash and a full cart of recycling. Holding on to the empty boxes to see if neighbor down the street ends up needing them. But I am flattening them to take up less room.
One of my roommates is really upset about the coverage given Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl Game. He gets really agitated about her. His daughter is absolutely crazy about her - I think she has memorized every song. Thank goodness he is in California and she is in Missouri. Bad enough with all the emails going back and forth.
We are having great weather at the moment - expecting more rain Sunday and Monday. Hope everyone is keeping themselves from blowing away and staying dry.

A quick drop in as off to drop the parents in law to Southampton for their cruise.
I sorted out a huge pile of clothes and bedding yesterday, some had been sitting around in my bedroom for several months.
Big frog achievement yesterday. We discovered that the parasitic cuckoo living in my BiL and SiL house since before Christmas had spent a chunk of their money gambling. The git had spent over half their income. Stopped the accounts. Spent an hour and a half on the phone with the bank. Luckily we know who it was but I can't do a police report until tomorrow when back from Southampton.
Anyway this has added to the case for their move as vulnerable adults to sheltered accomodation and hopefully they will be better off.

Thanks for the medal Mrs SD. Cheered me up after having done nothing yesterday except spend 5 hours in A&E. Being in excrutiating pain isn't an emergency but finally saw someone who confirmed what I suspected (neuralgia) and prescribed something. And he prattled on about King John liking Dorset as it had good beer.... Got to the chemist who were absolutely lovely about the complete blubbing mess I was the last time I was there (day before OH was ambulanced to ICU). Doing a WFH day to get used to new meds and taking probably too many pain killers....
Need to go out later to see if a shop will take back an excess dish draining rack and a couple of fridge storage bits. It depends on how you count 14 days to return. I think it's today but they might say it was yesterday. I'll play the sympathy card if necessary and ask for a credit note if I must.
Chaps and chapess are here finishing the kitchen - floor still needed doing and they're banging and drilling. Hopefully it means that's the last we'll see of them assuming they have time to tidy up a few minor things - a hole by the light plate to be filled and painted and a door closure to be tightened.
@weenancyinAmerica
Thanks for the Taylor Swift mention - reminds me I have to find out what happened on Sunday as there will no doubt be a big discussion about it all on next Sunday's family zoom - that's the problem when there's sports centric blokes in a family - even if it is north of the 49th.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi declutterati
I've been doing small amounts of decluttering mainly shredding and recycling paper and reducing emails. I dropped off soft plastics in the c00p too.
I delivered a belated C-mas present to a friend last week and have one present left to deliver to another friend plus her birthday present from last August!! We've tried to meet but the weather has stopped us so far ....
Not caught up on all news but hugs to all who need or want one.
@bit_by_bit - that's awful but hope your relatives can be moved somewhere safe.
@Brie - hope the pain is subsiding

bit by bit. grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hope you are on the mend Brie.
Well, a bit of a balls up here. Mr V's cancer treatment has come unstuck because the GP is in one county and the hospital is in another. Phone calls to the surgeons secretary have met with indifference and out right wrong information. Thankfully today the amazing Rachael has got on the case and it seems to have started the ball rolling again. Mr V has soldiered on since last September without complaint but he has said how worried he is today. He has requested a chat with the councellor from the hospice to see if that helps his anxiety. I think actually starting treatment will help his anxiety no end.
The NHS is amazing but really is too big and too overwhelmed.
Sorry for the outpouring of frustration chums.

Decided to do a bit of a clear up of online accounts today. Always more to do with those, but you have to be in the mood for it as it's often very hard to actually get stuff deleted and I hate that type of admin. At least the overall number is always going down, so it is going in the right direction. All part of trying to make my life as simple as possible as with both myself and DH with not 9-5 type corporate jobs, 2 kids and no family help, we are already more than maxed out. A lean towards minimalism is my way of coping and to be fair, if I look back a year or two ago, I am way more in control than I've ever been and the only thing that has changed is the stuff (digital and physical). In the last few months I've had quite a few days where I've felt strange as I don't have any jobs that needed urgently doing as the house was fine and could spend the time with the kids instead, which is the aim.I am also hoping that deleting online accounts will mean overall emails will decline. I can hope! Still stuck at 200 in my inbox and they come in as fast as they leave.Anyway, my figures for this morning:Digital:
1 - app deleted
9 - online accounts deleted
Physical:
1 - packaging reused
1 - loyalty card cut up (and cancelled as I never use it)
New total = 3,195Not feeling up to it today, but in the next couple of weeks I need to go back to my various online lists and see how many frogs I can crunch through before the new job hits. I think I've done quite a bit in the last month or so, but will see if I can get that list to be very small.2025 decluttering: 3,766🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

@London_1 what a small world! Mr Flamingo's great-grandma worked in the laundry of a private school in Goudhurst where she and her husband lived all their married life, from during the war until the late 80s when he died. She lived to be almost a hundred, still in the same little house that belonged to the school not far from it! I miss visiting her, it's such a beautiful place.
Thinking of all who are under the weather, physically and emotionally. Well done on all the decluttering.
I still can't seem to bring myself to get rid of the pile of things listed on FB but that aren't selling. A trip to the charity shop is a pain, but they're taking up space that I want empty and clean. Why is it so hard to dispose of stuff that might have monetary value?Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
