I'm wondering what the surprise is for MrsSD.
I used to listen to mainly rock and indie music, but I started listening to Taylor Swift and The Weeknd during lockdown. I did used to listen to Classic FM sometimes. I think we were talking about music on here, apologies if not.🤣
They are saying that the influence of Taylor Swift meant that many more girls and women watched the Superbowl this year. She is dating a football player and that is why there was such a hoopla in the media about it. She is such a megastar that anything she gets involved with gets media attention. I talk to an American guy online and he loves TS and he is almost 70 so I don't think there is any age limit on what music you like to listen to.19 -
The thread certainly moves fast! I doubt I will keep up. But will try to keep up with decluttering, and posting about it!
Thanks for the welcomes, everyone seems very nice and supportive, as zoomtothemoon said. I wonder how many members there are, and what the geographical spread is.
I will set my target at 2024.
The other day I got rid of some "lockdown joggers". So I'll count that as number 1. Last night I tackled two drawers in a freestanding bathroom cabinet, and cleared 22 items of old bits and bobs.

Well done!
Nice to see all the progress updates.17 -
Evening all, sold 4 things on v!nted so chuffed with that. Only £12 made but better than nothing, I am going to use any money made to top up the dcs savings. I am itching amd raring to go with the decluttering- 3 days of doing nothing (sitting around and reading with ds and snuggling which has been lovely) No decluttering will be done over the next 10 days as I am taking the half term week to relax, play and craft with the dcs. I am noticing stuff that can go when I start again on the 26th.... might be most of my house at this rate 😆.

Welcome zoomtothemoon and superloopersaver. Lots of different tips and ways - set a timer for 5mins, start with flat surfaces, gather like with like and you will realise how many of a particular item you have, start with an area that particularly annoys you, concentrate on your own stuff and others in the house might begin to feel they can release some belongings back to the wild.
Good luck and keep us posted. No question is daft so join in whenever you feel like it

Hello all. I decluttered my MRI appointment this week and now I am awaiting the results to find out if there's any treatment (or not 😥) available to me.
I decided to go shopping this morning as I needed some new everyday plates, cutlery and glasses as I've tried juggling with my old ones and haven't really got the hang of it yet 😂 Then I did the food shopping and I was so tired before I got to the check-out that I thought I might not make it. Stupid girl doing too much, I need to tell myself that my body can't do what I want it to any more. I did manage to check out with a lot of help from DH, then spent the afternoon in the TLC carriage where I had a rather lovely afternoon tea ☕🍰😋
I got my 2nd wind and washed the new plates and cutlery, well the DW did, and then binned 3 old dinner plates and 4 tea plates, all chipped. The glasses were replacements as I only had 2 small ones left ! Several, knives, forks and spoons hit the bin too as they were discoloured. In the crockery cupboard I found an enamel pie plate and a large melamine plate which I had forgotten I had, so both have now been put in the cs bag. All the cardboard packaging has been recycled.
MrsSD I'm glad that your DSis has returned home, hope she recovers completely. Hugs for your cold, hope it doesn't hang about too long.
Vulpix I hope they get MrV sorted asap, it's not right to have to wait for cancer treatment.
2Scratters sorry to read about your parents, hope they are both ok now
Hi to SuperLooper and Zoom declutter in your own way and at your own pace, you'll soon see a difference. I have an ongoing cs bag and a black bag for rubbish that I add to whenever I find something that can go, well that's what works for me. I'm in SE Wales btw.
Take care all, hugs for anyone in need.

Doveling, yes I am the guilty party on both counts. Scriviners and Winnats are both near me.
Superloopersaver, many people dip in and out with the thread, quite a few are part of the furniture as it's a lovely place to come for a chat. I think a few people have met up in real life after meeting here. There was a lady who hasn't posted for a while from Orkney and several on the South coast and every where in between. Belgium ( I think), USA and France are represented here too!
I am supposed to be getting ready to go to the pub for a meeting about being a first aid practise model. Instead I am messing about on the internet! Better go

Welcome to the new people! Everyone has great advice on their decluttering methods so see what works for you best. You don’t have to stick to it either, and try to remember it’s a marathon not a sprint and don’t be phased by numbers of things being decluttered 😊
As well as working full time I have a messy husband, 2 dogs and An Illness so do what I can when I can. I tend to go by 2 rules - if in doubt, don’t and if it’s taking up valuable head space, work on turfing it out.
hope that helps!⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Went for a tropical lido swim - a balmy 18.8 degrees. My new long sleeved swimsuit has arrived and I am thrilled with it. I think it will be game changer warmth wise.
