Hi all, well another couple of lazy days since I last posted. I think it's the February factor. I can't seem to get going and the grey skies don't help
. We had a lovely meal out with ln on Tuesday and as OH is still on antibiotics I got to have a glass of wine. I drink alcohol about twice a year usually
. OH bought me a lovely bunch of flowers yesterday so they brighten the place up
. In the past couple of days I have collected my meds and sorted out the bedside draw again to fit them all in, emptied the bedroom recycling bin and 3 LDFPA. Apart from that I have done some knitting. I have decided the scarf I am knitting I will give to one of my ex colleagues who I am meeting next week so that will be finished soon
. I don't have a definite project in mind for after that but something will be done to declutter some of the yarn
.
I am sorry I haven't caught up with all the posts yet but I will get another cuppa and do that as soon as I have posted.
@bit_by_bit sorry to hear about the thieving git. I am struggling to understand why your relatives are not already living in some sort of assisted accommodation as they are obviously very vulnerable. They are lucky to have you to help them out hugs
@Mrs SD hoping the salad sister is well on the mend, hugs
@Vulpix I hope Mr V gets his treatment sorted soon. It really shouldn't be that difficult, hugs
Hugs to everyone who would like one, off to get that cuppa and catch up with all the posts

Take care everyone

Morning Peeps,
well what a flipping week its been so far. Mother fell on Monday - no injuries fortunately, what a debacle, caused by her dementia state and dad being as stiff as a board trying to help her out, he's not mobile on his own. Then yesterday dad fell bumped his head which needed a trip to hospital for checking him out. I happened to be at their house (a day with DH - we know how to valentines) and was able to pop down and speak assertively with the management team. Fortunately for Sis1 she was out of the way (skivvied to the hospital with dad) or she would have copped it too! She is part to blameMum less aware so myself and niece had lunch with her (Dsis2 was stuck in 121 meetings) we took her back to the flat and let her know DSis2 would be coming soon(ish) as she was going for some bloods to be taken at the Health centre. I went back to the house as DH was emptying the coal place of which there didn't seem to be much left - how wrong can one be. Just a few pots in the back yard to be emptied into the front garden borders and the pots on the front garden also to be emptied(after selected pots to leave had been done) and break the soil/compost down. 5 hours later job was completed and then a lady came by saying she knew mum and dad and remembers dad walking to work in his clogs. She asked had the plants in the tubs been thrown, we advised not and there were 2 left on the front she could have. So drove round the block and dropped them off for her she also took some other various empty pots. Decluttering of DH's van will be a task for today and tomorrow sneaking bits into my car so no need to book in advance at our local tip.
Estate agent calling today to take pictures or what ever he is going to do. This has taken a year to get to this stage with all the set backs that occurred last year. And breath....
Oops sorry about that rant.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger thanks for my 2 gold stars.
Have a good week peeps

Glad salad sister is home
Today I'll be mostly washing drying and emptying bins while trying not to fall asleep
Hope everyone has a good day17 -
Spent 4 days at Mum's with dds. Worked from there (so it didn't cost me vacation days). Helped sort out a tax payment gone awry (she had put the wrong reference code) and hung up 3 blinds in the kitchen. Picked up a nasty cold.It was good to see Mum again.Husband took the opportunity to take the time to sell the 14 printers he rescued from his job (they were 'defect' and in storage. He was asked to throw them out, and he asked if he could have them. It was all very small fixes to make them work again). He also deconstructed a metal and a wooden shelving unit, to transport to Africa and sell there, or to put in the apartments we are building there. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5917

Just popping in this morning with my mini declutter from this morning. I spent some of last night decluttering some old emails that were permanently filed. This morning I wanted to do some physical decluttering. I know I have slightly too much stuff, but years of decluttering means that the excess is now really hard to find and sometimes it's difficult to know what to do. As plans never work well with me (I can procrastinate for as long as you want if I really don't want to deal with a certain area), I find it's best to go with the flow and find an area I fancy dealing with. That said, very small bits are good as if I pull out all my clothes I will get bored before the end and then I'll have clothes all over the place, so I break things down further. So today I randomly decided to go through all my financial/official physical documentation. It's not too much (fits easily in a deep drawer in my library desk) since most things are digital these days. I don't think I went through everything last year and there was so much in there where I questioned why on earth I still had this stuff. I'm sure if I went through it again in a month I would find even more, but I'm happy with a slow layer approach as it seems to work for me. Tons of stuff gone - yay! Still a bit more than I would like, but it's all progress and I'm sure I'll gravitate back to it in time. Maybe I should also think about minimalising some of my finances as I'm still not sure why I've got 3 bank accounts, 3 credit cards (one I never use) and 4 general savings accounts. I have been thinking about it for ages, but never actually got round to sorting it as I can't decide whether to switch my main bank account or not and then close it... I might put that off for a bit longer yetRight - declaring numbers and running off as going to the cinema with DS in a bit. May try and swallow this frog later if I get any time; otherwise it'll have to wait until tomorrow.Digital:

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Good morning my fellow declutterati 🙂 Up & dressed by 11:20 & downstairs having my 1st cuppa which DH made after he had a bath 😊 No sign of DSis just yet - I think she might be trying to catch up on her sleep 😉 Unfortunately I am still full of cold with a bunged up nose which I hope won’t spoil today as DH is taking me out for the afternoon 😊 I am not a great fan of surprises (I do like to have a vague idea) especially when someone else (my DSis) knows exactly what is happening 😔 & no amount of cajoling & begging has elicited any clues 🤔 As I have an hour to wait before we set off I will do some cheerleading & see how far I can get 😉
SuperLooperSaver, of course you can hop aboard, the more the merrier 😊 I think my top tips would be to remember that decluttering is a marathon not a sprint & be kind to yourself 😊 You have a young child, work full time & are running a home - so you have a lot on your plate 🙂 Small bursts of activity are surprisingly useful 10 minutes here, 5 minutes there soon mounts up 👏 Another favourite tip is to sort of multitask e.g. whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, you could wipe down the countertops or check the fridge for out of date or close to use by date food 😉 We are here to support & encourage you on your journey to a clutter free home 😊
zoomtothemoon, welcome aboard the EDT 👋 What you have called “thinking about decluttering” is what we call ‘planning’ 😊 & you have made an excellent start to your journey 👏 I am looking forward to following your progress 😊
DH is making noises about going so I will post this & come back later 🙂

Hi suoerloopersaver and zoom to the moon. Welcome. My top tips for decluttering are start with the easy stuff first and keep at it, in whatever way suits you. There is no right or wrong way, just grasp the nettle and make a start, and of course tell us all about it.
The gardener for Mum's quoted £25 per fortnight, I think that is an absolute bargain, he starts in March.
I am pleased to hear that the salad sister is home and better. How exciting to be having a mystery trip out Mrs SD.
We went out for lunch yesterday and got an M n S meal for last night. Very nice it was too. We are both feeling better about Mt V's treatment. We waited patiently, trusting the process but I just knew something wasn't right. If nothing transpires next week I am afraid I will be phoning the consultants secretary again.
Out ,a geological poster given away. A great big electrical thingy sold £125 kerching. I am nagging Mr V now to get rid of electrical gubbins now he has retired before everything is defunct. Hopefully all the sales will pay for the all singing all dancing new thingy which will replace it all. Iv'e heard that one several times before. Strange how you would need this thing costing over a grand when you have retired! I asked him yesterday if anything made him excited ? He said performing. Well good for him,no wonder he is loath to give it all up. Not that he has, just the late night stuff where you have to lug great heavy equipment about.
I am off now to make my sons favourite childhood flapjack. They are visiting tomorrow, that makes me excited!

I walked to try and find a local artisan bakery I saw advertised in the newspaper. I couldn't find it and then realised I walked past it as I thought it was a cafe. I will go back again tomorrow and buy a loaf of bread there. I at least got some steps in! It was surprisingly warm out. I was wearing a dress, tights and a long cardigan and I felt hot walking home. Very weird weather for February.
I tried on a jacket to wear out today and didn't like it so that will go in the donation bag along with a pair of shoes. I will drop it off tomorrow. I will do a quick look through my wardrobe as well.
I was looking at Oddbox and they do deliver to my address. It is about £12 for an extra small box and I can't work out if that is good value at all. It does prevent food waste though so I don't know whether to try it. I used to get a veg box delivered Abel & Cole, but that worked out quite expensive too.2025 GOALS

Hi, all.
I follow this thread but it moves so fast I can barely keep up!
Just popping in to thank someone for mentioning Scriveners book shop but I can't remember who it was
I rang them about restoring the family bible, which they did beautifully. So that was a job de-cluttered!
Embarrassed myself by bursting into tears when I saw it.
Also, was a picture awhile back of Winnats Pass? Not dim.....just living in soft focus
