If you want to be tickled further Mrs SD the Viking DNA is specifically Norwegian and comes via my paternal granny. 

Said granny was a very late Victorian tattooed biker chick and ‘flighty’ (Grandad was an early Edwardian and used to ride a motorbike and apparently competed in the Isle of Man TT in the 1920’s). We have pictures of Grandma tightly belted into her leather trench coat and helmet (imagine a WWI leather flying helmet) next to grandad’s Norton fitted with her pillion seat. When she got older she moved to a sidecar.

Well, more car drama here. It is slowly decluttering both my sanity and bank balance, as tidays breakdown means both a bill and Mr F only getting paid 2 hours rather than 7.5
I have just discovered a great bonus of decluttering, Mr F needed pics of his license and a recent letter with our address. Everything is so much clearer in my house that I could find both articles to photo within a minute and send them straight away.

Hi all, late posting today because I slept for England last night. I think it was a reaction to the dentist visit, simple fix and a nice chat with the dentist who is retiring in May but says he will carry on working until his practice is sold, seems to be a complicated arrangement that has been put in place by the gubberment to alleviate the scarcity of nhs dentists. I am just hoping that whoever buys the practice keeps it nhs. In an mse note the dentist didn't charge for this visit as it was so close to the last visit so was classed as the same bit of treatment . On the way home I called into OH's house to collect the mail and check it was all ok. While I was there I had a look around with a decluttering eye and felt quite overwhelmed as long term OH wants to rent the house so a lot of stuff will have to come here. Lots of it is useful but I don't know how it would fit in here . Some stuff just needs to be binned like some of the food stuff that must be ood. I will broach this with OH later in the year . I also put my prescription for my special toothpaste into the chemist, I will have to collect that today
I also booked my diabetic eye test which was overdue but they hadn't contacted me so that is sorted for Friday. 
The corner cupboard is now completely emptied, all the crockery has been washed and inspected. These are very old china plates that I sort of collected years ago, some I think was given to me by ex mil who used to buy boxes of mixed stuff at auctions and keep what she liked and put the rest back in the next auction, so I think some may have some value. Some has nibbles out of the edges so these have been put in a separate pile to be used for plant saucers etc as they are pretty and the good ones packed in a box for further consideration. I also found my Mum's trifle bowl which brought back happy memories . I have another chunk of worktop to clear on the other side of the cooker where the kettle is and as it's a corner lots of rubble has accumulated there. I will start that today . Interestingly OH said yesterday that it is much easier to keep it tidy once it has been done. Laugh, I nearly did. I have lost count of the number of times I have cleared the kitchen worktop and this was said while I was sitting looking at the 2 piles of stuff OH has at either end of the couch. I will continue to declutter that by stealth
The lr bin was emptied and 100 emails deleted and the union thing was finally done, it was in danger of becoming a frog so I am very glad that is done. It took hours.

@Vulpix I love the pics, that boat is beautuful, seems a shame to burn it but amazing. I think I will have to try to visit as well, it has fired my imagination . I have no idea if I have Viking blood but I wouldn't be surprised knowing where my family roots are, another thing I need to investigate , but it might explain my love of the sea .

Well I have caught up but my mind is full of fog today so I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one. Time to crack on as I have a meeting this afternoon and a footy match this evening

They really do! I was surprised I did so much in half an hour yesterday.

I did another clear up yesterday and (optimistically, considering the chilly weather) moved all my sunglasses to the plastic box I was using for my handbags and put it into my wardrobe. That left a whole drawer clear so I put some spare toiletries in there instead as I bought more cotton wool yesterday. I wrote my to-do list for today as well. That took 15 minutes. I used to use jewelry boxes, but I use a clear plastic box to put my costume jewelry in now as it is much easier to find what I want to wear. I thought I should do the same with my sunglasses. I threw away some paperwork into the recycling and all the rubbish went out last night too.

I have been out this morning to the post office to buy a birthday card and send it off. I was planning on wearing a dress and sandals this weekend for the party in London, but the weather is too cold for that unless it dramatically changes before then.

I had a try on of some clothes yesterday and some more items are going to be donated. I have 2 full bags to take now. I'm going to end up with a capsule wardrobe at this point!

Thank you Mrs Sd and huge squashy hugs to you Charlies_tribe. Thankfully this morning was a lot calmer although dd looked like she was dreading going in today - enough for one mum to point it out to me (the mum knows the battle we go through). Today I have contacted the family hub to self refer dd for therapy to help with her anxiety - waiting for a call back - also contacted the school senco to let her know and she has offered to refer dd for therapy in the school which should hopefully be available in the next month. I have also been discussing a private assessment for dd for autism and she has sent me some links for places to enquire with. I have also had some time in front of my sewing machine making some new 'lovesquares' for dd, 12 made in total. Two squares of fabric sewn together with a felt heart in between. Dd takes them into school so she has something made with love from me and it can help her during the day with separation anxiety. 
So far 3 things off my list and I am going to start frog freeing February tomorrow to see if I can work my way through my to-do list.

@vulpix that pic is amazing.... I would love to visit Shetland, but it's shelved on the long to do list for now.

I'm crawling back in today to hold my hands up and admit I overstocked (again) doing the shopping this morning and then I went to Ikea to get a few bits and bought a couple of extra things not on the list.  *Hangs head in shame*.  There will be very little food shopping for at least a month whilst I work through it all.

I shall be spending the rest of the afternoon tidying up the house ready for the weekend.  I've already sorted out the kids craft drawers now I have a couple of containers to stop the stuff sliding around everywhere in there and it looks much better.  Now I've also done a huge amount of my handing over at work, I'm feeling less stressed and I have to say the house isn't too bad.  Just need to get to that last 10% of tidying that seems to take forever.  I will split it between today, tomorrow and Friday though as it gets tedious very quickly!

270-279: changed all the batteries in the remotes and the measuring scales.

424-429: carriers to delivery driver
430-434: 2 bags of rubbish and 3 of recycling to the downstairs bins

A mysterious pile of old paperwork sorted: some to shred, some to stay

Have managed to hit target on no spend days for January (20).

Afternoon all.  I have carried on with the culling of Family History site - slowing down now as 'easy ones' are getting less and you have to do this slowly so as not to make a mistake.  I am pleased to have reduced 'names' from 49000 + to 39000+ (remember I have been collecting this 38 years).  I found yet more subscriptions to pay - I have foolishly got a lot of renewals in January.

I'm probably the last person to know this but I've just seen a digital decluttering tip that I wanted to share, in case I'm not: open your photo gallery app and search today's date (without the year). Delete any unnecessary photos. Rinse and repeat every day for the year. I've done today and tomorrow, it took no time at all.

Im a stressy stress machine today! Had an email from county regarding my DD EHCP got me fuming (again!!!) its all wrong and they wont amend it. Its infuriating and Im afraid Ive just spent an hour writing a rather curt and unhappy reply. (not that it will make a bit of difference!) Not making the amendments is likey to result in DD not being able to attend the A level college she specifically wants to. Its heartbreaking that this fight for her education is never ending, we had really, really hoped that sorting out post 16 education would be a fresh start and a fair chance for DD to study. So fed I feel like crying, but i cant, i need to man up and keep fighting!

EDITED to appologise! I needed a bit of a rant, its so unfair!
