Good morning chums, early bird this morning as I must get the Fam His. stuff sorted
Looks like youngest DDs place has sold and mine goes on the market at the end of next week ,so exciting times ahead . Hopefully it will sell as quickly as well. I looked online, and in the past 10 years only 6 houses have been sold in my road. People tend to stay a long time, I've been here since 1995. I'm looking forward to moving though as its been our plan for about 5 years that once DDs sons were grown and flown we would move jointly to the IoW
My new car is red as well, and its lovely, lots of extra gadgets that I haven't worked out how to use yet
plus its weird not having a key to put in the ignition, just put the foot down on the clutch and press a button
On Sunday I forgot to tuck my head down, and clunked my forehead on the top of the door Only do that once I think Its because my previous car was taller (a seven seater) and this one is a saloon. First time I've had one of these in 15 years
but its very nice and I will get used to it.
So this morning is definitely declutter and sort out decades of notes and bagfuls of collected research of the family history There are four 'trees' altogether ,both my parents, and both my late OHs parents. I have my shredder at the ready and a big recycling bag
I think it will take the best part of this morning at least to get it in some sort of order.
Then the next lot of decluttering will be clothes, slippers and shoes. The more I declutter, the less I have to pack
. Still eating down the food stocks and freezer stuff. Got a steak out yesterday for dinner and to be honest I only ate half it was as tough as shoe leather, I think there is another couple in there
I may slow cook them to see if they taste any better if not DDs dogs will get a treat.
Right coffee pot is bubbling so I'd better get a wriggle on. Have a good day fellow declutterati's

Thank you Mrs SD, dh can come off the naughty step now but I am sure he will be back soon 😆. Excellent news about the car, hope you have lots of adventures in it!
Thank you @Liverpool_Anne, I have a few things written on my calendar for half term. Looking forward to it.
Shetland looks amazing vulpix! I would love to go and have added it on to my list of things to do/places to go although I will wait until the dc are older so they can enjoy the festivities too.
Yesterday was a rotten start. Eldest dd was crying and refusing to get ready for over an hour and made us late for school (only 15 mins but being late anywhere is my major pet hate). I was so stressed out about it that I was walking around the supermarket afterwards unable to make simple decisions. Me and dh only have one duvet set so I wanted to get 2 yesterday but I couldn't choose for the life of me 😔.
My airing cupboard is sorted, 1 huge pet blanket (better suited to a labrador not a kitten!) For the cs and 2 fitted sheets that do not fit any beds anymore put aside. 1 for making a cover to store the spare single duvet for the kids and the other I am adding to a 'dress up day' pile so I have material for future use.
Talking of dress up, my eldest dd has an anglo saxon day next month but I have 'cheated' and ordered a pinafore type dress from n€xt, so she can wear a seamless t shirt underneath. I had to get some dark fabric to make a cloak so we will make that together at the weekend. Thankfully it doesn't look like we have to pay a group to come in so some money -.not spent- there 🤞. I am going to take photos of my house today and see what progress I can make over the next month and compare.

Thank you for my medal Mrs SD. Happy Adventuring in your shiny new red car.
Wasn’t feeling very energetic yesterday but did manage to get to the library van. Also deleted several emails as they have built up again recently whilst I have been focussed on other things.
OH dropped off ingredients and freezer boxes to DSis on his way past and collected a week’s worth of frozen soup.18 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is a very dull looking day but finally the last day of January has arrived 🥳 I was up & dressed by 09:00 & hopefully DH will get up soon as we need to create some space in the garage for the door repair chap 😉 I have my first cuppa & once I have posted this I will do a bit of knitting & then some paperwork.
London_1, you were up early 😉 Hopefully a) you can get the Family History boxes sorted out & b) the shredder copes 🤞Congratulations to DD - her house has sold very quickly 👏 & hopefully yours will sell quickly too 🤞 It sounds like you are enjoying your car 😊 Is your car an automatic? I believe that ours is a manual - as both DH & DSis are rather partial to changing gear 😉 Hope your head is OK 🤞Shame about the steak, hopefully slow cooking will improve the texture 🤞 after all you wouldn’t want DD’s dogs to develop expensive tastes 😅 Hope you have a successful day with the Family History paperwork cull 😊
florianatwobob, I now have a picture in my mind of you all kitted out ready to go pillaging 😂
Dfw38, if you are sure ….. okay DH is off the naughty step 😉 Sorry to hear that DD1 had a bit of a meltdown yesterday 😔 Hopefully she was OK once in school 🤞 & everything crossed that there was no repeat performance today 🤞🤞Well done on getting the airing cupboard sorted out 👏
You are welcome oceanspirit 😊 Well done on getting out & about yesterday & clearing down your emails 👏 Hopefully you feel a bit more energetic today 🤞
Wishing everyone a good last day of January whatever you are doing 😊 Plus get well soon wishes to our poorlies & cwtches all round 🤗

Good morning.
Congratulations on the new car MrsSD.
Lovely pictures Vulpix.
Dfw38, sending hugs. I know exactly how your feeling. DD2 is no longer at school but attending a course instead and this morning we were both in tears trying to get her there. I ended up giving up and she's upstairs doing English.
Cake in yesterday as it was my birthday (just another day here but dad's partner always makes a cake) and just the books out. My passport is now applied for, hopefully it doesn't take too long.

I was reminded by either Minimal Mom or A to Zen life that 'those 5 or 10 minutes add up', so I tackled the attic a bit more this morning before work. It needs to be a working space, where I can reach everything quickly. I emptied another box with schoolwork that we have to keep for 3 years (it can go in June, hurray!), which is now on the 'schoolwork' shelf. The plastic container it was in now holds a woollen blanket that was just on the attic floor, squashed underneath a large moving box with miscellaneous items. I had a quick check, and think I'll empty that next. It seems to contain some camping stuff, some empty electronics boxes, some garden ornaments, ....One of husband's friends arrived last night (which I'd forgotten to put on the calendar, and so had forgotten completely), so we had a very quick and very thorough clean of the parts of the house he would see
Out: some plastic toys of dd2's she either found or got from friends when they were clearing their own toy stash (McD mainly). DD2 has been reminded several times that she needs to find a place for them if she wants to keep them; she didn't put them anywhere, so we are taking it as a sign that she doesn't really want them, and have put the items in the recycling.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5920 -
I was heading out and decided to sweep up the drive - shocking number of nails and screws left by the clearance team. And we're not talking about ones that would be hard to spot. Some of these suckers were 3 inches long and would be fatal to a tire if run over the wrong way. So glad I tidied that up.
One of the neighbours was out doing his usual of sweeping up all the leaves that fall in the road and kept going back to his house to empty his little dustpan. I went over to offer to help bringing my big industrial size broom and huge trug and we got chatting about how the council doesn't do any roadsweeping anymore and all the drain get clogged as a result.
It was about then when I was saying that I hoped none of the trash from ours had caused a mess for him (no fortunately) that I noticed the fridge/freezer wasn't on the drive anymore. I checked the photos I'd take about the nails etc and could see that it was gone when I got home last evening. So either the mucky clearance people took it, even though they weren't supposed to or the metal merchant chaps had swooped in and nabbed it to go with the oven and dishwasher they got on Saturday. Whatever, whomever has saved me £48 that it was going to cost to get the council to take it away.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I have tackled the biggest of my big frogs, and I got ALL the clothes out of the attic (there are three more large bags that didn't make it into the pile before I photographed)... And I have sorted, washed and photographed 85% of them so far. I spent the WHOLE of Sunday going through clothes, and it is now Wednesday, and I have almost caught up on all the laundry it created. I have sold 22 things on Vinted this month and made just shy of £150! I have 39 items listed on there, and several more things to list, but I am having to do it in batches, as it takes ages. I have been re-watching Silent Witness while I list things - I'm up to Season 9 now. Because the episodes are one hour long, and usually in two parts, I can give myself two hours a night to upload things and organise things while it plays. I would have loved to be a pathologist but I am rather too bad at science!
Have added the 22 things to my totals, and awarding two bonus points - one for tackling the frog, and one for tackling the laundry the frog created! 🐸🐸
So I'm tracking personal ins and outs - rather than household!
Out for January is 290 and in is 7. If I keep going at this rate, I will be sitting in a rather empty house.

Hi all
@vulpix - wow thank you for the amazing photos from Shetland! I love the series and have been watching from series 1 on iplayer; now up to series 7. I'd love to visit there in the future.
I finished my self employment work so I am work free this weekend and can do some decluttering etc.
I've had 10 minutes at lunch so have deleted and unsubscribed from emails. Still 14k plus oops .
