Afternoon all. I have managed to get a GP appointment for Friday afternoon - all the stars must be aligned! Work will just have to cope, as there's definitely something 'up'
Not much left of January for me to meet my goal of 100 things decluttered, and I'm not sure I'm going to make it. A concerted effort over the last couple of days has produced:-
Jumper that I don't like
A top that I don't like
3 x ornaments
An unopened pack of 'selfie masks' whatever they are!
Fleecy jumper I don't like (there's a theme)
3 x old nail polishes
An old stained top to fabric recycling
That brings my total to 80.
Just 20 more things to find between now and tomorrow to hit my target ...!
Still unsubscribing and deleting emails like a mad thing ...
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

+1 painting job done, +1 random cranberry sauce sachet from the freezer thrown away
Now going to be decluttering an extra £50 a month on rentturning my money over for the full moon definitely hasn't worked this month! On top of car expense, and the dog being out of sorts (doesn't look like a vet trip yet, but you know how it is!), and the general wait for money to improve and settle again, it's stressful, and now Mr F and I have fallen out about it

I bought three handbags lately. One new from New Look and two from charity shops yesterday. I put some plastic boxes in my handbag shelf that were supposed to organise them, but they have ended up being all over the place. I took the handbags out and went through them and put them back. I'm only donating the beige one. I cannot believe what a mess they were before. If I don't wear the brown one before the end of February that can be donated too. I set myself half an hour to do that, floss and brush my teeth and put the recycling outside and it has been 34 minutes.🤩

DH & DSis left at 13:35. I have a hot drink & am raring to go 😉
You are very welcome dND 😊 Very pleased to hear that the fence line issue is almost sorted & will be fully legally documented 👏 Keeping everything crossed that you get the contract soon 🤞 The orbital sander sounds like a very good buy - so you are let off spending money but now I agree that you should close up your purse/wallet & let the the moths have some peace & quiet 🤣
Florafauna, one In, 2 Out is a good ratio 👏 Pleased to hear that you are feeling better although I hope you have not gone back to work too soon 🤞
Brie, like you I am not at all impressed by the Clearance Companies work 😠 Perhaps a couple of photos to the DIY place to accompany the correspondence 😉 Maybe give them one more chance to clear up fully before posting your review 😉 Well done on reaching the decision to restock slowly 👏 hopefully that will mean that you only keep the items that will be used frequently 😊 As to cleaning wooden kitchenalia, a quick google reckons bicarbonate of soda aka baking soda & vinegar might be a good start 🙂 As to the microwave, do you have space in a cupboard & then just track how often it is used 😉
Very impressive London_1 🤩 You are really moving along with your decluttering 👏 Anyone would think you want to move to the IoW 😂 sorry 😔
Floss, well said 👏
Brie, polite is good 😌
Excellent work Siebrie 👏 A medal 🏅 is on its way but yours alone 🙂 Husband gets a ‘thank you’ only as he probably expended more energy “sighing and grumbling” than he did moving furniture 😉
Brambling, “Enjoy the baby cuddles tibawo there is nothing better until they leave you a present in their nappy 🤢 but as they aren't yours you can hand them back 🙂” - I had to laugh 😹 I love your new ‘house rules’ & especially how strict you are being 👏 This bodes well when you decide the time is right for your next clothes decluttering session 😊
I broke off to do a little bit of wudupa + someone mentioned shelling XMas nuts which I have done & now have a small jar for snacks. Also heated up the soup - it is quite spicy but I had a spoonful of soured cream which needed using up so the hm soup is now perfect for me 😊
Back later 👋

Two boxes of ‘ping cuisine’ decluttered from the freezer. One was chilli the other was a chicken casserole which on first inspection was looking suspiciously gray….and then I located the cause…..a purple carrot! Which reminded me that despite the colour it had been exceptionally tasty. I really ought to label the freezer contents but that does take some of the excitement out of defrosting!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Two parcels (three items) dropped off for the courier. Brown bin (garden waste) is now full. I also decluttered some money to the garden centre. Hopeless!16

I am back again after doing 20 minutes of paperwork. Although I still have the lists of larder contents to write up + I need to write March’s birthday cards 😉
weenancy, another busy day 👏 Although I am pleased to see that posting on MSE is your go to relaxation 😊 My DH would be so jealous - 2 garages & such a great size 😉 I might not tell him 😉 Some great advice for those of our declutterati who are working on their family history 😊 That is crazy weather weenancy 😜
BudgetingBelinda, the joy of doing the daily decluttering/tidying is almost immeasurable 😉 Gets the day off to a great start when as much as possible is tidied before going to bed 😊 Sounds like your wardrobe frogs are on borrowed time 😅
Excellent decluttering charlies_tribe 👏 I love that you bartered books for a signature on passport application forms 😊😊
Wednesday2000, sorry to hear about the vertigo 😔 Please take care 🙏
Muddy_Walker, I take it the the pickaxe handle is for home defence 😉 I have a rounders bat 🤣 Yep, STILL January 😔
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏
TC77, great work decluttering the small bureau 👏 Remember if you don’t love it & it has outlived its usefulness to you, then out it goes - be firm 😉 Re the van hire don’t forget the smaller the van the fewer items can come back to your house 😁
Nice to see you StickyTheStickInsect 👋 Sorry to hear that you are still ill & now have a chest infection as well 😔 Sending lots of get well wishes 😊 Belated Happy Birthday to DS1 🎉 🎂 I am sure he will enjoy his rock climbing party more if mummy is well 😉 Some excellent decluttering 👏 & fingers crossed that the listings work quickly🤞Thanks for the information about CS bags 👏
Another page caught up 🥳 News from this end is that DH just phoned. He & DSis have found the perfect car - a bit more expensive than intended BUT only 5 years old with just 30,000 miles on the clock, very recently serviced & MOT’d. DH has put a deposit down & will sort out a test payment tonight before releasing the rest of the cash. DH & DSis will be picking it up on Friday. Oh, you would like to know the colour…………….. red 😉 The two of them are on their way home now & are starving as there wasn’t a café or shops nearby so request put in for bacon sarnies when they get home 😉

Wednesday gave me the incentive to sort my handbags and the other items on the top shelf of one wardrobe. Four handbags and two thick woollen scarfs (gifted but don't wear them) removed followed by I pair of ankle boots, 2 pairs of canvas shoes (1 to the bin) and one pair of sandals from the wardrobe floor
I have promised my sister she can see if she wants any before it goes to charity. I'll give her to the weekend to visit or I'll take them to her, otherwise they'll end up in the spare bedroom and I'll keep forgetting to rehome them.I hate to admit the number of shoes, boots, bags etc I have left to 'think about' being a little on the round side 🫣 when I get fed up with clothes shopping and nothing fitting right I buy accessories as my weight doesn't matterI also blame WFH again which means a lot of it was put away as I wasn't going into the office
one phone call made to a pension company lunchtime, chipping away at that frog 🐸 I will say my work days recently make retirement at 60 seem very attractive, although I think the boss thinks i was joking when I said it was on the cards for May 🤨Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin23 -
More jars and bottles emptied from the fridge. When cleaning the fridges I generally move all the bottles and jars out, then move them all back in again. I know it is taking me an age but I struggle to throw food away that looks edible. I’m now going by the “do I really want to eat this?” mantra, in order to move myself forward.@Wednesday2000 - my handbag shelf looks like your before picture. I must go through it again.Fantastic news about your new red car Mrs SD - you will all be able to go on adventures together!19
