Hi all, just a quick post to report on the day as I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. Went to the dentist the other week and 4 days later broke a tooth, typical
So today 2 LDFPA, 2 bags of hard plastic to the tip, a small electrical item to the tip, 4 items into the cs bag. It is nearly full now so hopefully it will go this week. Did some more clearing in the corner cupboard and refound a lovely glass dish set that I have been wondering where it was. There seems to be more crockery type stuff in there but I am only getting a bit at a time as I have to kneel on the floor to reach it out, a very badly designed kitchen unit
. It will be finished tomorrow.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
157 & 158 LDFPA
159 & 160 hard plastic to tip
161 small electrical to too
Take care everyone

Morning All, quick hello before my day gets going. Tad tired as OH and DD have the cough doing the rounds and very disrupted sleep. Work very busy and cost savings being made doesn't bode well for easing work pressures. I manage staff and it is the hardest part of my role, though treat staff how I would like to be treated. I have had some shocking managers over the years who had no idea and no people skills.
Decluttering will recommence just don't know when and not going to pressure myself. 🤣17 -
weenancyinamerica Gosh 27 degrees, sounds a lot nicer than 10c as it is in Kent at the moment a bit brrrr
.I'm just waiting for 7.00am to put the stuff out for the bin men .There is a woman across the road who watches everyone, and if you put it out before the witching hour she will ring the local council to complain. I swear she is ex MI5, a real curtain twitcherso I literally put my rubbish out bang on 7.00am ,excuse me I'll be back in a minute ...and I'm back
I even waved to her peering through her nets
what a sad life she must lead. Luckily I have very little to do with her as she is a real nosey parker. In a couple of weeks her nose will go into overdrive when my For Sale sign goes up
.
So stuff today will be morning off to go to Dobbies for coffee morning and general chat, it will be a sad one this morning as one of our crowd lost her husband Brian at New Year, and we are all going to his funeral this Friday morning. He was a lovely chap and the pair of them had been married almost 60 years. I've known them for over 26 of them, he was not only a good friend, but also an excellent quizzer as one of the founder members of our quiz team for 8 years (our sports expert for football and golf) he will be very much missed.
I will have a look around the W'rose outlet in Dobbies but really don't need to buy anything but I do like to have a shufti
Then after lunch I will be tackling the big boxes of notes, files etc of the Family History stuff. .My eldest DD wants it ,but wants it all in orderand as she works full time at a very high powered job I said I'd sort it for her
looks like my coffee percolator will need to be bubbling away this afternoon.
But its all a bit less to pack when I move so I must get it sorted.
It's a bit nippy outside at the moment but dry at least, and the recycling chaps are already coming down the road. They are so good, you can almost set your watch by them recycling 0.7.15am black bag bin men 0.8.15.am.
Right, time for another cuppa and a quick shower and get dressed and off to Dobbies by 9.00 If I'm not there early enough to bag a seat they are all more or less gone by 10.00 and we always sit in the same area.
Cheers chums happy decluttering

Morning all. I have got a bit behind and found 56 posts to read today but also another medal from Mrs SD.
DS2 took children to school yesterday and quiet day planned but then ex DIL phoned to see if I could take DGS3 to GP as it was a time she couldn't get out of work (school). Did that, took him for a burger, got some medication and snacks for him. As he is 14 I don't see much of him nowadays although late DH and I had him every week pre-school and have taken him on overseas holidays. Nice to spend time with him. For some reason I have been spending a lot of time reading and not doing housework. I have, however, reached 168 items which is one twelfth of target before 31 January.
165 Another 1000 names culled from FH file
166 Bag of plastic dropped off at SM
167 Lots of random tat binned from around the house
168 Annoying rug binned - I keep moving it different places but finally decided it could go.
Need to get dressed and organised for rest of week. DGCs back after school.2025 Decluttering Campaign 607/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Lots more little bits and pieces yesterday but mainly just day to day things rather than clearing the backlog. At least the things I am doing won’t become part of the backlog.
Sorting out some tins to go to DSis today as she’s doing some more cooking for the freezer for me. All helps using up the stocks and saves my precious energy for continuing the sort out.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅18 -
TC77 said:Do any charities still take stamps?Yes and you can post them to them as well. Here is a list of some that take them with links: https://moralfibres.co.uk/how-to-donate-used-stamps-to-raise-money-for-charity/To double up with the post below, you can also put them in an envelope and send them to Oxfam whilst posting other stuff to themStickyTheStickInsect said:
I also found out (I may be late to the party!) that Oxfam will send you bags and you can put donations in them and send them back via Yodel. This will be really helpful to me when I’m not feeling so great and I wondered if it would help anyone else?
The British Heart Foundation have a similar scheme with Collect+ instead of Yodel.
https://www.oxfam.org.uk/donate/donate-by-post-for-free/
https://www.bhf.org.uk/shop/donating-goods/post-your-donationsYou can request the Oxfam bags online, but can only get a maximum of 3 delivered to you at any one time. It used to be one, but I contacted them when I had loads to donate and they sent me out 5 in one go. You don't need to use their bags and can use your own bags and boxes if you have too many of those as well... double up the decluttering! You can also send them used stamps at the same time and leftover foreign currency.2025 decluttering: 2,449🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

Morning decluttering chums
Not much decluttering chez Deni but I have cleared out 2 handbags - put old receipts in the bin, tore all the pages out my 2023 diary and put in the paper recycling and the cover in the bin, found some headphones belonging to DD2 and about 10 pens which are now in my pencil pot; old and new tissues binned or kept as appropriateI've put one handbag in a bag for the CS and the other one I have moved from my bedroom floor into a drawer. I had 5 handbags on my bedroom floor!! I now have 3
Work is busy this week but if i can get my self employment work finished off I will free up time at the weekend to do more sorting and decluttering.
@TC77 - my local zero waste shop has a collection box for old stamps.
Love to all

Good morning everyone.
i was watching u tube @ Remi clog who decluttered and cleaned her kitchen drawers and cupboards after 5 years - it was very motivating - even though my kitchen is nothing like that, I do enjoy watching her videos.
so I am still trying to maintain a clean and tidy house, with the excuse that there’s always toys out and about. Interestingly I have realised that I keep going back to the easy places to re declutter again, rather than tackle the big areas that are overwhelming like the loft eaves ( which I think I mentioned last year) hmmm might have been the year before….. so I am not sure that 2 of the 3 craft boxes we have have even been used since I last decluttered. Also why we have quite so many beads I really don’t know. They are all in one place now, we really have a lot.
I have tried out Vinted this week as pretty much stopped fleabay due to fees. Anyway I sold a ski jacket that LO didn’t wear and just hung on the peg for 2 winters, I will try and list some more stuff and see if it’s worth it. I have very few clothes, but found at least 6 items new that don’t fit so will try and do something with them.
Have had quite a few of LO things collected for free from Olio so that saved trying to find a parking space near the charity shop. School will take some phonics reading books LO has grown out of. Although it’s never ending, I do feel a little progress being made each week.
some great projects people are tackling on here, keep up the good work 😊19 -
@Brie - re kitchen knives, I have a wall mounted magnetic board which holds all the knives safely. It also frees up space on worktops. Here's an example from ikea though many other stores do them. When I was clearing out my late DM's kitchen I found lots of dead beasties at the bottom of her knife block.
