Waiting for garbage collection:
- 4-seater sofa
- 6 dining room chairs (all very good quality, about 60 years old. I had plans for reupholstering and painting, but can’t find the energy)
- some laminate flooring pieces

Good Morning chums ,lovely chap came and did the EPC certificate also the floor plan for the EA, I have the dentist at 11.15 for a check up.
They actually rang me and offered it as they were working through their backlog !.
Yesterday I worked solidly from 07.30 am with a short break for lunch until 3.30 pm decluttering I decluttered all of my Uni notes and essays from almost 20 years ago ( I did a humanities degree for an interest to keep me occupied after I lost my OH.)
I also did a short story writing course combined with it ,so all of that was shredded.
I am down to two bags for life to get stuck into after lunch and hopefully that will be all the paper work sorted. One good thing I found which came in handy this morning was my guarantee for the wall insulation which was needed by the EPC chap.I thought it had been lost as it was done 18 years ago but it turned up amongst all the paper work so I was really pleased, and so was the chap this morning.
He was very pleasant and said the house was fine and I'd done a good job of making it as energy efficient as I could.
I have the carpet cleaners coming next Monday, and next Thursday the video and photographs are being done, then it will go 'live' for sale the next day. So fingers crossed it will be snapped up as quickly as DDs has.
Because its less than a five minute walk to the shops and station, and on a good transport link to both London and the coast, it hopefully won't be too long before its sold We go house hunting on the IoW next monthAll the hard work decluttering will be worth it as there will be a lot less to pack.
Right I'm off to start doing a bit more shredding before I go for my fang check up
Have a good day chums

Just popping in to congratulate everyone on their fantastic decluttering in January 👏👏👏
I got there in the end with the fridges and today I am going to restock. It is such a joy to not be looking at all those jars and bottles for another year. Small pleasures 😂
@Flowerpot - I do feel for you as I had a similar journey with DC. We got to know other families, thankfully, as it is an isolating experience. They are all fantastic adults who have done well in their lives despite the unconventional and difficult education years. We had some dire predictions directed at us if we didn’t comply with unhealthy strategies but they proved to be total nonsense in the end. I know it is a fight to get what is needed for your child and I wish you full strength with it.@Dfw38 - I am awake by 4:30am and can vouch for the importance of getting that hour of sleep before midnight. They say an hour before midnight is worth two after. Otherwise, I have no sleep advice as I seem to be rubbish at it! Good luck with your plans for your daughter. Separation anxiety is so hard on you both. I wish I had known about those lovely heart makes when we were going through that.22 -
Hi all, poor day for decluttering yesterday, prescription collected, voucher uu for jeans for OH and 1 LDFPA. I started the other bit of the kitchen worktop but only managed some surface rubble, I will get to it today. The union meeting went ok but lasted a bit longer than usual and I was only home for half an hour before I headed out for the footy and home late. Stupidly I had a coffee when I got home so although I was tired I couldn't sleep and was having a text conversation with dnephew at 3am
I have a load of washing in the machine and a load in the basket waiting to go on the maiden so I better crack on
Hugs to everyone who would like one
169 prescription collected
170 voucher uu
171 LDFPA
Take care everyone

dND said:bigdaftkid said:Is it too late to join?Wot @dND said. Everyone is welcome hereI am making no progress on tidying at the moment because I am simply too busy and this afternoon I am picking up DS from school and spending time with him for his birthday, then off to the gym late evening. May be a last minute tidying dash at this rate the day before the party! I am squashing in a bit of sorting now before I pick up... maybe I should aim to clear an entire room or tidy 100 things or something.Anyway, decluttering is going slowly because I am on the millionth (ok... rounded up to the nearest million
) round of decluttering and it is getting hard to figure out the few bits and pieces I still don't want/use. I'm spending a lot of time agonising about stuff in the cleaning cupboard to make sure I really have the absolute minimum I actually need. It's pretty dull stuff, so only doing a tiny bit at a time! Need to have a look through the first aid kit on a similar basis and then figure out where to go next.
Mainly I'm going where things are a bit annoying, so generally the kitchen is getting a hard look at the moment. The hallway coat cupboard is going to need to have a declutter as well, but will put that off for a bit longer (or do it in tiny pieces) as I feel like I'm forever sorting through kids clothing to determine sizes (of which the size labels obviously bear no resemblance as to whether they actually fit or not...).I was doing 1 thing to declutter versus 2 to tidy to get things tidied up as last weekend. I am currently 450 items behind on the tidying.... clearly decluttering is a bigger strength than tidying for meMaybe if I get rid of enough stuff there won't be anything left to tidy? I can hope...

DSis and I had an unexpectedly profitable trip to the shed! One crate emptied and cleaned and now sat outside my gate with a ‘free’ sign on it. I’m hoping to catch the school run adults as they walk past my house.Rearranged the ‘doing shed’ and have now been able to move the beer fridge down from the other (more for storage) shed. We’ve also been able to use the old garden table (low coffee table sort) to keep the beer fridge off the floor! The table was sturdy but disreputable looking……not unlike me after today’s efforts.Still haven’t found the awol Tupperware am now wondering if I found it previously and it’s taken the place of others that have died in service….✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hello all, I'm back from another hospital appointment but had to go in to see the consultant by myself as Dh couldn't find a parking space. He wasn't the only one either as there were long queues of other people trying to do the same. Sadly the news isn't good as there is more cancer than first thought so now I need to have an MRI too. I may have to be in the TLC carriage for longer than expected so plenty of cakes would be most appreciated 🍰. DH also decluttered a cancer appointment last week and thankfully he's on an even keel for now, so they'll review him again in 3 months.
This week I have thrown out a dining plate as someone had smashed it, well that'll be me then, obviously I need to practise my juggling more 😂 I have put several cardboard boxes into the recycling and the packaging from deliveries into the rubbish bin . A halogen oven cookery book has gone in the cs bag as I have upgraded to an air fryer. Lots of food decluttered this week as the DGC have been here, they'll eat everything that's not nailed down !! I also gave DD 2 parcels when she collected the DGC, they are delivered here as she's at work during the day.
Hugs and cwtches to everyone in need.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently22
