Tomorrow's plan is go to Body Pump, go to uni and collect hoodie, drop in at Mr T to get some flowers (yes more); text Mr N who will then meet me at a very posh farm shop as we usually get DB and SIL some local food and make up a basket of goodies. Also want to get a small posh ham joint - the farm has lovely but pricey meat; still, we don't eat meat every day so it is a Christmas treat. Then it will be final flower arranging, tree decorating and and last wrapping. That, in theory, leaves me Thursday morning "free" to have a good vacuum and clean round before my drum lesson, Pilates and heading off down the M3.
- Collected hoodie; they were all laid out on tables so I was able to ask staff about size and get what I wanted.
- got flowers from Mr T
- got stuff from posh farm shop, including ham and goodies for DB. Of course we had to have coffee and cake while there.
- dropped last local card in on my way home. Then found another had been delivered to us so may drop one to them tomorrow.
- oasis and containers prepped for 4 flower arrangements; foliage picked and conditioning. Any leftover flowers will be for our neighbour whose DH was taken to hospital this morning after falling in the night; we saw the ambulance this morning then saw neighbour later. Seems nothing broken but he is being kept in for tests as he hasn't been right lately (he was the one that 'wandered off' recently).
- Christmas tree up, lights on. Will do decs tomorrow.
- Plants squatting in kitchen have been put back in conservatory so I have my kitchen surfaces back.
- Plan had been to turn on range and cook a chilli for tonight and a lasagne to take to Mum's; also a pudding. Nearly had a hissy fit when I found only half a bag of Quorn mince in freezer rather than the one and a half I'd expected. No real mince. Found some beef meatballs so decided to do something with them instead. Next shock; the big bottle of Llo£d $rossman sauce I'd planned to use wasn't tomato and basil but tomato and chilli; Mum doesn't like chilli. Big tantrum. Dug out stewing beef from freezer so I've prepped the slow cooker with veg ready to turn on tomorrow, so that will go to Mum's. We ate the meatballs (in chilli sauce) and the chilli is cooling ready to freeze. An hour later I remembered pudding.....really, where has my brain gone? Retrieved apricots from the freezer, lined my tarte tatin dish with them and I'll make the sponge/pastry tomorrow then cook in the combi oven. Panic over.
- did drum practice.
- Treated by a visit from the postman today; that's 2 days running. Thank you for flycards, knitted cutie and chocolate coin plus all your lovely messages.
- Now I'm going to wash up so it's fairly clear for me to make a huge mess with flowers tomorrow.

Well my tree is up and finished and my new knitted kitty has been moved further up because my naughty torty took a fancy to it (I think it was the fluffy tail). My tree is full of memories, ornaments bought in places as souvenirs, things made by pupils or gifted by them and I now have a set of flylady ornaments. I have tidied up the garland which decorates the stairs, added more pine cones and swapped out the white lights for coloured led lights and am very pleased with the effort. Two new tree ornaments this year bought in London. I also have vintage ornaments that were my Grandmother’s. I haven’t put the little glass baubles on - they were 1/6 (that’s 1 shilling and sixpence = 7 and a half pence) That was for a box of 12! She’d have a dicky fit knowing i paid £29 for a string of lights!
Front of knitted top started.
Hope ASB is ok. The wind is howling round Villa Valli and I hate the wind when it’s like this. I find bad weather increasingly unsettling as I age.
DW, WM and TD locked and loaded. Black bin out but right by neighbours wall in the hope it stays upright.
Anyway J. Sparrow is on the beeb so i might tune in on the ipad in the hope of distracting myself from the wind. ❤️❤️❤️😍🥰😘

Morning all
Thanks for thinking of me Valli. I haven’t slept, not surprisingly, but touch wood we still have power at the moment. I’ve just made a cuppa and brought it back to bed. When it gets light I will brace myself to go outside and check the chimneys, roof tiles and feed the animals. I suspect they are fed up!Paid stuff today and being Mum taxi to DD. Need to work out what we will have for tea (really CBA to meal plan at the moment), and keep an eye on puppy.
Will no doubt pop on again later, take care all xx8 -
Morning all.
Very windy here too. The bin is still upright and fortunately the tall trees were cut down last weekend. One had fallen with an almighty bang in the last storm.
Paid stuff again today but in theory plenty of time for flying too.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
ugh…
have battled with myself to get up and put TD on, so have just been outside to rescue the groundsheet we drape over the rabbit run (protection from sun in summer, and rain all year round) which has blown off but was trapped as the door had blown shut. Was DS’s scouting groundsheet which i used to keep in the car for emergencies but transferred to bunny use. Mind you the run is permanently open now the garden is secure, but they do like to go in and sit on the little shelter that they never, ever go in. I doubt they’ll come out today, they don’t like wind, especially the big one. I think it’s their ears; my tiny bunny has teeny tiny ears so he won’t suffer like Miffy will. But Benny is more timid.
Bin still upright.
So WM, Dw and TD x 1. Had i got up earlier it would have been TD x 2. It won’t be now as cheap rate finishes at 7:30.
Hope all are safe and sound.

Morning all, another here that hates the wind, our gable end catches the wind and we have had tiles off a couple of times. It seems to have got worse since I got up.
Christmas brunch with my little team this morning. I get them a small gift because without them I couldn't do my job, and they are amazing.
Then after an early finish at the paid stuff I think I might be going to help DS1 with his last minute shopping. DS2 needs collecting from the train station at 7.40pm. I need to drop off Dad's presents to give to Mum too. Not much flying will happen today!
Hope no one has problems with this weather, have a good Thursday all x7 -
Morning all
I hope those in the worst of the weather stay safe. I'm in the quiet zone here on the south coast. It's a bit breezy but nothing worrying. I may put the settee throws in the WM and hang them out - they should dry quite quickly in this breeze.
My list for today:- Throws in WM and then on the line
- Get car off the drive and open side gate before 11am ready for the log delivery.
- Finalise the Mr T order for tomorrow
- Clean the bathroom, utility area, hallway and kitchen. If I'm having DGD tomorrow I won't be able to do anything then!

Morning all. Hope everyone's roof, Internet access and animal shelters survive the gales. Not too windy here atm.
Aspirations for today, in no particular order:
- place order for one part of DDiL1's gift
- wait patiently for DS1 to let me know what he and DGD1+2 would like! (but gifts won't be exchanged until our family day on 29th)
- transfer money gift to my eldest goddaughter
- find the proper screwdriver to take the glass plate off my desk lamp so that I can replace the bulb
- decorate the vegan cupcakes I made yesterday, and box up the ones that are a gift - to avoid temptation, the rest need to fit into the freezer until 29th!
- cook red cabbage in the SC
- deliver the final cards to neighbours and a friend who can't get to church atm
- shop for a couple more gifts and various other bits and pieces
- Rosie's walk
- fill up my car with petrol and get it cleaned for the first time this year!!!
- final Action Heart visit of the year (maybe I'll only have time for half my programme, but it will be better than doing nothing)
- make sure that at least one of us is home all day to receive the Flylady cards special delivery (we were out for lunch yesterday and DH has to go for a blood test this morning)
- wrap more presents.
Best get going...! xxx7 -
Despite not being in the risk zone our winds are supposed to be around 50! Not good when we have to do a 3 hour round trip to collect presents struggling to get going, and I need to do dishes before we even leave. Would much rather stay in bed!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
