Evening ladies
All that remains on my list is decorating DS room (going to do this on Saturday) and paid stuff tomorrow. I have no intention of leaving home until Boxing Day 😊😊😊.
Dog bedding in WM because puppy had an accident, we were back at the vet with him again today 😕. Dropped two bin bags full of stuff off at the CS, they weren’t technically taking donations as they are overrun (which I wasn’t aware of), but I frequently use that CS for books so he knows me and was happy to make an exception, much to my relief.Small red wine now before bed. Take care all xx9 -
Hope all those in windy areas survived without any serious problems.Kaz, a sad time for you. Sending hugs.Went out to the shops this morning, a bit late, so didn't get back until lunchtime. Called in at a church I used to go to as someone said they had left a card there for me. I thought it was in the vestry but couldn't get in and later found out it was on a table in the entrance. Doh!Came home, made lunch and washed up. A had run out of some medication and a few days ago had tried to order it from the GP online. He rang the chemist to see if was in and they said yes, so I collected it whilst I as out. When he opened the bag they had given him something else he is on and not the tablets he needed so he rang the surgery and a GP rang and said they would send a prescription to the chemist straight away so I went out again and got it. I also went to a large M&S as I wanted some of the little car-shaped tins that have a mini Christmas tree on top and are filled with chocolates. Someone gave me one and it is so cute I wanted a few to give away (they are cheap) as stocking fillers. The nearest M&S said they had sold out ages ago but I got some at a larger one.Came home, did eye drops, made tea, washed up, rang my friend about her Christmas Waitrose order which is being delivered on Saturday and so she needs to finalise it by tomorrow. I have mentioned it to her several times but she is very forgetful now and so wasn't ready with the order. She is going to ring tomorrow with what she wants. I have to finalise mine too but as we are having Christmas lunch and Boxing Day lunch at friends I'm not sure what to get. After supper I wrapped a present for someone I am seeing tomorrow, made the marzipan for the cake (should have done it a few days ago) but by this time it was too late to roll it out and put it on the cake so I"ll do that tomorrow and ice it on Saturday before cutting the first slice on Christmas Eve. I've cut it a bit fine this year but hey-ho.Yesterday a friend rang whilst just as someone from the hospital rang to speak to A so I told him I'd ring him back but I keep forgetting. I hope he doesn't think I'm not ringing on purpose. I really will try to do it tomorrow.10

Morning all
Dreadful nights sleep cause by the smoke alarm randomly beeping at 1am and DH snoring, but probably not helped by the fact that I had a coffee last night (yes I should know better).
My boy is home, collected him from the station last night after a trip to the shops with DS1 to help him buy a handbag for GF. I would have taken her to the shop and let her choose it but he wanted it to be a surprise. Nice to spend a bit of time with him.
Going into the paid stuff this morning for a bit then perhaps going to the out of town shopping place with DH and DS1. I don't actually need anything but I don't mind going for a wander about. There is a bit of flying to do but nothing too difficult.
Feeling very calm and happy this morning, but I know the run up to Christmas isn't easy for a lot of people so sending love, spoons and hugs as required xx

Morning all xx
Dreadful night here too - and there was no beeping or snoring to disturb me. But I had half thought that the wind (cor that wasn't pleasant) had blown out the pilot light on the boiler so that was on my mind. I don't even know if it has a pilot light!!!! ( I didn't have the heating on yesterday evening as I was warm enough without). Anyhoo the boiler has fired up fine this morning and I'm not at work today so I can chillax if I start to flag.
I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, taken my meds and I'm supping my brew.
Oh yes, and the wind has blown the felt off the shed roof. My go-to, P, is waiting for heart surgery so I can't ask him to come and sort it. That was probably niggling too.
Anyhoo. Today I am waiting in for the postman to bring my flylady cards so I plan to:
Have another brew
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Put new bin bags in bins
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing

Wrap presents
Maybe pick up my prescription later. This evening. When the mad Friday crowds have dispersed. Hmmmm. I'll check what time the pharmacy closes.
Love to you all

How on earth is it almost noon!!
Wild weather here, with heavy rain and blustery winds. I don't need to go anywhere though, other than onto the field, until Boxing Day which suits me just fine
The fire is roaring and the children are pottering around. I am looking forward to putting my out of office on at 4pm! Decorating commences at 9am tomorrow, wish me luck! My brain is a bit fried so I am going to have an early lunch and read my book for half an hour.9 -
Still got to
WUDUPA
Wrap presents
Every else on my earlier list is done.
My flylady cards have arrived. Thank you everyone 💓. The chocolate coins have been eaten and my knitted cat is enjoying the view from my tree and making friends with the snowman hung next to him. Lovely.
First load is on the airer. Second load is ready for an extra spin.
I've finished my book, and pulled The Santa Killer from my TBR pile. It's a Merry Christmas from me to me book that I bought specifically to read over Christmas.
Lunch next I'm with you asb the morning has just disappeared 💨
I need food

Asparklierblonde said:How on earth is it almost noon!!
- FUPA washing
- PUPA in the LR
- S&S'd the kitchen
- paid L the dog walker and given her her Christmas gift (12 home-made vegan choc muffins), and she has taken Rosie out for her walk with the mad Springers
- looked at DGD1+2's Christmas wish lists which have finally appeared and fired an email off to DS1 giving my first, second and third choices for each of them in case anybody else got in first
- updated my list for today.
Yesterday evening I went shopping at the big MrAl, followed by a top-up shop at the big MrT. I didn't go out until 8pm, by which time there was hardly anybody in the shops except the staff, who were all refilling the shelves as fast as they could - it was a very pleasant atmosphere in both stores, with everyone in a good mood and very willing to help little old ladies like me! I think I bought everything I needed, apart from about 3 items which I should be able to get tomorrow at our local convenience store (and if not, it will just involve a short trip to our local MrAl).
So today's list says:
- call in to see housebound friend and/or deliver her card
- get the car cleaned
- fill up with petrol
- make door wreath
- put up holly and lights, crib and a few other other small decorations
- send e-cards
- prepare mince pies for baking tomorrow
- WMx probably 3
- finish the urgent wrapping, start on the less urgent (for 29th).
My approximately 25yo food processor died on me yesterday. I have already decluttered the bits into the plastics/metal recycling or small electricals pile, as appropriate, and found the food processor attachment to my hand blender which had been lying in wait for about 6 years at the back of the bottom corner cupboard for just this moment. A bit of shifting around of the other contents of the cupboard has made everything in there much easier to see and reach
Best get moving, then... Hope everyone has a calm and unhurried day xxx9
