I am a great fan of allowing children to do things safely.. it is so much better than letting them wing-it or grow up without any life skills.. mine may not move out but they CAN do stuff.

Definitely in the “teach them young and properly etc” camp. When I was a Brownie leader, we had Brownies who (among other things) weren’t allowed to stir food in a saucepan. Soon put a stop to that - safely, I might add! DD cooks the meanest fried breakfast out, so she obviously wasn’t one of the ultra-sheltered ones in the pack!
Well, that was a day and a half at the paid stuff. Due to shenanigans that I won’t bore you with, the loyalty and goodwill of a small but really good bunch of people has been tossed in the bin by remote directors who quite frankly couldn’t give a damn. Roll on Friday afternoon.
Flying wise, very little done. In fact nothing as yet. Your ticked off lists are putting me to shame. Dinner will soon be cooked when DH and DD return home, the kitchen will be put to bed and that will be it for the day.
I have a package to undo - I think it is my flylady cards, so in anticipation, I thank all you wonderful people x10 -

Vegan scones in freezer...
Christmas tree decorated and in position. I am continually surprised when I get the LED light string from the box in the cupboard under the stairs and wrap it around the tree that it still works...
I need to finalise the Mr T order in the morning and prep for a log delivery between 11am and 1pm then do a bit more housework.
Hope you are all coping.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Evening all
Big shop done, as well as a parcel collection. Then a move around of all our clothing to accommodate the new smart clothes for Mr Flamingo's new job, and a declutter of sentimentals. One load washing done and on heated airer. He made a cake, and we made a pie from scratch. Downstairs vac done.
Busy one tomorrow, 3 hour round trip to collect presents for inlaws. Still need to get lots of paperwork printed at library for the DLA form. 1 present left to wrap.
I find it hard to teach Junior Flamingo lifeskills, he's not very interested in doing anything domestic. He's 11 and autisticMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

The scones are lovely soappie. I've had two and DH gave a thumbs up to the one he had. No more flying here. Around second paid shift I just did knitting.
Will try harder tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Evening everyone. Not been on for a couple of days as have been very busy (and rather stressed). Anyway, today A wanted to go to the bank but before that I had to deal with a flurry of emails about the charity thing (it was a bit like being back at work lol). That delayed our departure but we got to the bank and had a real bit of luck. They have two machines in the branch but one wasn't working so he used the other. He drew out some money with one card and then some more from another account with another card. He had no sooner taken the second lot of money when a notice on the screen said 'Out of Order'. Had the person behind us got in before us we would have had to go elsewhere and given A's mobility problems that was something we were pleased to have avoided. To celebrate we called in at a nice pub on the way back for a drink. Most of the tables were laid out for dining, including crackers. There was a 70ish couple at a table with no crackers so I took one of the crackers off an empty table and invited the woman of this couple to pull it with me, which she did, to her great amusement. I think her husband thought I was crackers. The joke was 'Why does Santa go down chimneys? Answer below. After that we called in at the butcher and I bought something for our supper. I came home, administered eye drops, made lunch and washed up, had a few more email exchanges and wrapped a Christmas present. The laundry man came and I gladly handed over the things. My new frying pan arrived and even though it is one of my Christmas presents I didn't see any point in waiting so unpacked it and used it for the first time this evening. I really like it and it is so easy to wash up too. I made tea, administered eye drops, washed up, made supper, washed up and now it's time for the pre-bed eye medication routine and then I can go to bed.Answer: Because it soots him11
