Morning all
A large sum of money arrived in my bank account this morning (from my pension) so I have spent some time moving it about into various other accounts.
Today I WILL get the Christmas tree up and decorated and WILL make the vegan scones as a minimum.
Need to put a load in the WM.
Anything else will be a bonus.
At least the sun is trying to shine today where as yesterday it was conspicuously AWOL all day.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hello again.
Thanks for thinking of me ASB - I'm afraid I'll have good and bad days ongoing now and will just have to manage the pain. Today is a middling day! Hope you don't get a power cut.I have done first paid shift, all dailies and dog walk, hoovered through of a fashion, emptied all bins and put big bin out for collection tomorrow. I'm hoping it's heavy enough not to get blown over in the forecast winds.Spend less now, work less later.11 -

Morning all.
So far today I have
- sent 3 long overdue emails and a birthday card
- accepted DS1's kind offer of a meal on Christmas Day for us both - it will save me cooking for 2
- invited K and the girls here to help eat our turkey on Boxing Day
- checked the menu plan and written myself a to-do list by days
- FUPA clean washing
- put spot cleaner on DH's beige trousers which still have dirty mark on them, and left them to wash another day
- done QHI
- S&S'd the kitchen
- PUPA in the LR, my bedroom and study
- showered and dressed
- waved to the bin men (in our borough they're not allowed to accept gifts of any sort, even edible ones)
- sorted the Christmas gifts and discovered that I still need something for M (and DS1 hasn't given me any of his family's lists yet)
- made gift tags
- wrapped up two gifts
- added to my shopping list for tomorrow
Still to be done:
- out for lunch with friends in 5 minutes
- deliver remaining local cards
- Rosie's walk
- do an easy tea
- wrap more gifts
Hope Jazee, pigpen and anyone else who is under the weather are feeling better today xxx
Keep smiling, folks (remember Mademoiselle?) xxx11 -
I blame Soappie. I've just baked nine fruit scones. Waiting for them to cool a little. Not sure I've made scones before.Spend less now, work less later.11

I have done as much as I can to prep - power banks are charged, so is the headtorch. We have lots of bottled water anyway, will just make sure I will up the kettle and a couple of pans tonight. All washing now up to date.
DS was a star and humped in loads of coal, wood and kindling. He also got the LR fire going -my mum baulked at that when I told her - yes he is safe laying and lighting a fire at 9 years old, in fact he is excellent and manages without firelighters unlike me!
I have done a good chunk of jobs this morning, we had to take puppy back to the vet for something, I officially have £12 in my account until 27th, but everything is up to date bills wise, all food in etc so that is good. My budget spreadsheet is up to date and we are raring to make 2024 a frugal success. Speaking of which, I need to boil up a pan of eggs to supplement the pigs tea, that has reminded me!
More paid stuff now. Stay warm and dry all xx11 -
Many thanks for my Fly-cards.. and the coin Lionel snaffled.. and TY Narco for being so thoughtful.. my tummy appreciates you very much!
£290 disappeared in B&M.. I have sorted stocking fillers and got some necessary bits like DW tablets and plasters and other such treats!! I love this trip.. I save up for it..
DD1 just gone to get sos rolls for Lionel for lunch so I have 2 tired hungry boys here.
We need to make room in the boot for her to borrow the dryer.. I have 2 plus 3 heated airers and DD1's dryer died and cannot be replaced until after christmas so she is having mine until she can get a new ne, hopefully in the sales! She laughed when I offered to lend her mine.
Best go feed myself and get the kettle on..
Thursday is wrapping day.. and Friday I am busy too.
