Hi folks
I completely fell off the cleaning wagon, though it's stayed mostly okay. I have suspected ADHD, so I'm either 100% focused on something or constantly shoving it to the back of my mind. New things that have happened: new mattress came, and Mr Flamingo starts a new job in Jan, going from part time shift work to a full time 9-5I am going to be home alone a lot more, so considering my volunteering options
This week:
Give a one hour clean to each high traffic room, we may or may not have people stopping by
Spot clean rug with carpet washer
Fill in Junior Flamingos DLA form
Get evidence printed for above
Post it
Make a trip to pick up presents, full day job!
One final present to wrap
Dye my hair
Clean fishtank
Sort new clothes for Mr Flamingo's new job
Sort special car insurance for the above
Deep clean car (again)
Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Hello everyone
Well, I've had a productive day - I:- Properly cleaned out the fire and hearth and reloaded the indoor wood store as we have rain forecast tomoz
- Dusted and swept TV stand and surrounded area in the living room which is next to where the Xmas tree will go.
- Swept the rest of the living room floor and actually mopped it (it's wooden) as it was a nicely windy and fairly mild day so I could have the patio doors and back door open to create a through draught so it would dry quickly.
- WMx3, TDx2, last WM load of tea towels on the maiden in front of the fire (but far enough away that if the cat or dog knocks it over, it's not a fire hazard).
- Went to the DIY store that starts with B but rarely ends with me having to Q(ueue) with DS to get a real tree. Found a nice 5ft Nordmann fir which was reduced from £40 to £20 so that is a bargain! I'll decorate it tomoz.
- Much family celebration regarding DD and her bloke's completion of their new house purchase. They have just under three weeks left on their rental which means they have time to do things like get the carpets cleaned etc. before they properly move in.
- DS is much improved with his nasty bug and is out tonight with his mate over from Canada so I can please myself for dinner - I think I might do ham and leeks in cheese sauce.
I hope you've all managed to have such a good day as I have today xxxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Well done Soappie, I'm also beginning to feel it is coming together more or less.
- one load washing done, hung out and nearly dry when brought in.
- one load through DW, done and put away. Actually that may have been yesterday....maybe both?
- report finished. Just needs a final check tomorrow then sending off.
- one flower arrangement done for friend in care home. Messaged her to check it's ok to take it in tomorrow after my swim.
- swept kitchen floor.
- usual 'star' flower arrangement done for the front door, I couldn't wait any longer.
- walked up to PO to post last couple of cards.
- sent ecards
- put gift money in milkman's card ready to put out on Wed
- updated list of things to do. Crossed lots off; added some on.
- checked list of presents, gathered together anything not yet wrapped. Added gaps to list.
- put away anything on dining room table no longer needed; it had cards (all done now), wrapping fabric (all up one end with unwrapped presents) and lots of miscellaneous gibble (now put away).
- Mr N has finished rubbing down and varnishing conservatory windowsill and painted the 2 walls. It is all now ready for vinyl man who is arriving at an unspecified time tomorrow; should ring in the morning to let us know when. Mr N also took our friend to the airport. After no joy or sense out of web site or ringing, he finally managed to get an hour's parking for £15 even though L is visually impaired, has a blue badge and needed Mr N to walk her to the assisted boarding area.
- executive decision from both of us to binge watch the final 2 episodes of Vigil while eating dinner. Well it saves time on subsequent nights!
- I've just cut the long stems from the remaining flowers (3 more arrangements to go) and put them in clean water.
What I have had to sacrifice today in my prioritising is zumba, drumming practice and village carol singing. Shame, but just couldn't fit it all in.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

I've been reading but not contributing (or flying!! 🤦♀️) over the past couple of weeks but will be joining in properly in 2024!
Just dropping in to say that you will definitely need to do a 'mist coat' if you're painting onto bare plaster @Asparklierblonde - if you don't, the paint won't stick to the wall properly and will peel! 😳 just mix the emulsion with water (equal quantities) then paint the wall. It's up to you if you do one or two coats of this before you paint with normal paint but make sure you let it dry properly before normal painting commences....thankfully, it really doesn't take long to dry anyway but when I did my house I did two mist coats on the first day then left it overnight before starting the proper painting.

Morning all,
Thank you for the lists x Hugs, sticks and spoons to those in though I may need to keep a few spoons back to get through the paid stuff for the rest of the week. Someone said I sounded “frazzled” yesterday. Not wrong, these spinning plates are about to crash and give me concussion.
ASB, lots of good decorating advice. If I were nearer I would help, as I am partial to a bit of wall and ceiling painting. Mostly due to living in a hovel and waiting years for the pain tin to have its moment. Definitely put the dilute coat or 2 on first, and cling film is a game changer, especially for the brush /roller when you have to stop mid-paint.
Left - I just clocked your sign off, with the weight loss challenge. I might be sneaking that for myself, it’s needed, and I need an impetus to make it happen as apparently having no clothes that now fit comfortably is enough of a message to my small brain.
It is pouring down outside, and has been since the early hours. Yesterday’s washing is still struggling to I’m not rushing to strip the bed and wash the bedding. DH picked up DD yesterday, so I have my big baby girl home although she already has plans. We had a film evening last which was lovely.
Right, I need to get my derrière into action. The Mr M shop needs finalising today. I have a beanie hat to finish, but that might be wishful thinking. And a ton of admin which seems to be breeding atm.
Hugs to all. You are all amazing, especially when so many are being pulled in all directions x8 -
