ASB, sorry you've had a disturbed night. My best decorating tip is to use a small roller instead of a large one, even for big walls - it is easier to load evenly and is much lighter and therefore less tiring - and suitable for children to use without making a lot of mess. Also cover roller trays/paintbrushes/rollers with cling film or foil if you're leaving paint in them between decorating sessions - don't wash them out and waste the paint x
I have added "Clean out fridges" to my to-do list - they are almost empty atm, so that job will have to be done before I refill them - ie today. I must also phone my niece who is 75 today (3 weeks younger than me!) to wish her Happy Birthday, as although I posted her birthday card along with the Christmas cards, I suspect that the delivery delays will mean that it won't arrive in time.
Hope everyone enjoys a good start to the week xxx7 -
Morning all, in again for the first half of the week. Going away on 22nd until 28th. Will have to fly a bit this week. DD1's in laws are coming here for Christmas, don't want to leave all the flying to her.
@Asparklierblonde, decorating advice. 1. Listen to @ionafan, good advice there. 2. Don't try to wallpaper on your own, just paint. 3. Don't allow children under the age of six to help you! Lesson learned for me there. 4. Don't allow your children to paint on the walls with gloss paint, a lesson my mum learnt when we were small. 5. Don't look for perfection, nobody else will notice.
@pigpen, please take care of yourself, you sound done in.
List for today. Or maybe all week!
Hoover carpets, both of them.
Load dishwasher at least twice.
Wrap last few presents.
Make shepherds pie.
Clean bathrooms.
Clean cooker again!
Order new handles for saucepan, again! Pan with two handles on the sides, made of plastic, others leave the gas too high under it!!! Second replacement.
Finish sewing up knitting for new DGD due in January.
Water in polytunnel, to keep it going while we are away.
Shopping, including chicken feed.
Let's see how I go on.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.7 -
Morning all, It's a struggle this morning to get started as we were late getting to bed as later than planned getting back from MIL, anyway I need to get moving as so much to get done today/this week.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Take the kids to school.
Wrap present for work colleague as need to take it in today.
Take laundry out the drier, fold and put it away
Empty the kitchen bin.
Leave a note for DH regarding deliveries that are due.
Pack overnight bag, as need to stay overnight for work.
Do paid stuff.
Revise for the exam that I have tomorrow
Check over the car and get fuel.
Travel to the hotel for work related overnight stay.
Sort out some of my new diary for January.
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a lovely Monday.

Morning all
Thanks for the interesting list @Valli I like it! As all presents are wrapped and cards posted and menus planned, I have this week to make sure the place is up-together housework wise so I will pace myself rather than try and do it all on Friday/Sat am (first 'event' at mine is Saturday afternoon buffet).
Everyone talking about online supermarket ordering being slow has made me decide to do mine (due for delivery on Friday am) today rather than try and wing it Thursday evening just in case so thanks for the intel...
Today I also need to go out and buy a Christmas tree. It'll probably be this afternoon as DS may come with me (he's on leave this week) and he never normally gets up until lunchtime when he's not working! He is on the mend from his nasty fluey thing so I let him back in my place yesterday for food as he shouldn't be so germ-full...
Spoons for @pigpen and anyone else who needs them.

Hi All, hugs to those that need them.
House a total guddle just now. Plan tonight will be to do a biltz of upstairs - hoover, polish, change bedding, quick clean in bathroom etc. Also a bit of ironing and a load of washing on. That should get things moving in the right direction.
DH and I are heading away for Christmas. This works out well as we'll be on our own and in the middle of nowhere so no temptations as it's his first sober Christmas. We really need to get some shopping done for food we are taking with us so, time allowing we may make a start on that tonight.
