shopping fit into the fride and freezer.. with space to spare!!! The shed fridge has a stash of milk.. 2 ordinary ones and 4 lactose free.. profiteroles and trifle.. it's an old fridge and a bit unreliable when it comes to fridging.. I will be replacing it next year when I see a decent one for free. I'd like a chest freezer too.
1 load in TD
Moomin doing her washing..
I have 2 boxes of stuff for the 26th and a freezer drawer and a fridge box.. Other than wrapping and a LOT of tidying we are done I think.. 2 items to come tomorrow.

My approximately 25yo food processor died on me yesterday. I have already decluttered the bits into the plastics/metal recycling or small electricals pile, as appropriate, and found the food processor attachment to my hand blender which had been lying in wait for about 6 years at the back of the bottom corner cupboard for just this moment. A bit of shifting around of the other contents of the cupboard has made everything in there much easier to see and reach
Best get moving, then... Hope everyone has a calm and unhurried day xxx
Been for meat for beef wellington. The butcher who assured me there’d be some had sold out. Went to a nearby farm shop , spent a fortune but it looks perfect. Also bought sausages and stewing beef. This might be a game changer…
Took mum to hairdresser. They’d both forgotten.

Afternoon all.
Our oven broke on Xmas eve 2020, not a complete disaster because of lockdown, but the oven on the replacement cooker died exactly a year later. That time involved a 40 mile round trip to cook the turkey in DDs oven.
Anyhoo, paid stuff now finished till Wednesday so as normal for me then. Today I've done dailies, admin, dog walk, hoovering and s&sd bathrooms.
Going to knit now until DGD1 arrives for her sleepover later.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Hello all,
Home from a full on and stressful day at the paid stuff at last, although with no thanks to idiot drivers (apparently roundabout rules have changed, and giving way to the right is no longer necessary, whoever knew). But I am finished for the year now, so I need to switch off and stop worrying about it all. Just my little joke…And breathe…
DH is going out this evening, DD is doing some uni work, it looks like I have a quiet evening to myself, being queen of the remote. And writing a much needed flying list for tomorrow.9 -

Evening everyone
I'm not quite sure where the day has gone.
DGD arrived just after the Mr T delivery this am so she got to do arty things and compose music on my iPad while I put the shopping away (having cleaned the fridges earlier as mentioned yesterday).
Only two subs on the shopping (which were perfectly acceptable - one was about three times the price of the thing I ordered but I didn't pay any extra (so result!) and no 'not available' s. It reminded of one of DS's subs (best ever in many respects!) during one of the lockdowns. He asked me to order him a litre of a particular gin. They didn't have litre bottles, only the smaller 70cl ones, so the packer put two of those in the basket to make sure he had the litre and he was only charged the original amount...
Played card games with DGD after the shopping was put away until it was time for me to go for my ECG. She went next door to DS's while I drove out to the surgery.
Preliminary results from the ECG show all is normal (phew!) and as I haven't had any more the dreadful palps I had been having for a couple of days, which was one of the things that prompted me to go to the surgery in the first place, I'm hopeful it's just a case of going on BP meds to lower mine to make sure they don't happen again.
I also handed the receptionist a printout of my BP twice daily readings I'd been noting down over the two weeks for the info of the GP - they show consistently high so I think meds are in order. I have a phone consult in early Jan. I told her to ignore yesterday's completed Times quick cryptic crossword on the other side because I reuse paper! (I refuse to subscribe to The Times which would enable me to do them electronically so my DSis emails me them each day along with other puzzles and I print them off!).
Pottered about with some washing and drying this pm. Was expecting my butcher to deliver my Christmas order this evening but no sign so far but I expect they are uber busy. I haven't had a text with the amount either... If nothing happens tonight I'll call them in the morning.
My Christmas appliance tip to avoid disaster is *DO NOT, EVER, EVER, EVER* contemplate cleaning your oven and its glass door on Christmas Eve morning. I did one year and I broke a vital piece that held bits of the door in place about 10.30am. I had to text my ex-DIL urgently to go to Robert Dyas (because she was closest) before they closed at midday and buy some emergency heat resistant sticky tape to hold the door together until I could source a new bit. Mind you, it did the job so well, it was a couple of years before I got round to buying the broken piece and fixing the door.
Hope your evening goes well everyone.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
