It's about 10/11 years old so hasn't done badly I suppose in today's throw-away world. I've been thinking about getting a new one but this might force my hand as I don't like using my phone for the internet or the desktop either.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Final update. If it's gone, it's done. My back aches from going up and down stepladders, I'm cold and very tired, and I want my nice warm nest
- wrap the final gift [I did 3, but ran out of sticky tape for the 4th]
- make chocolate log [I shall probably make a microwaved sponge pudding instead]
- marzipan the Christmas cake [if necessary, it can be eaten plain - or with Wensleydale, nom-nom]
- send e-card and letters [that was on my list a week ago and is still there!]
- rub down and re-paint the peeling area on the indoor wall by the front door [I am following ASB's example and will leave it until after 26th]
- collapse into bed [on my way....]
Christmas Eve tomorrow
Sleep well, everyone xxx8 -

hi all
Most if my christmas food shop is done, the veg part is in a bag in the shed. DD was out last evening, i picked her up so I wrapped while she was out so today should be fairly quiet, though I need to go for potatoes. Wm TD and DW all primed.

Morning from a very windy Scotland.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Paid stuff (8am-8pm)
Get more wrapping paper and some last minute bits on the way home from work.
Take the turkey out of the fridge and sit at room temperature
Take other food that needs to defrost out of the freezer
Wrap the last of the presents
Hand deliver the remaining cards
Make a list of cooking times as DH will be doing the cooking tomorrow
Do reindeer dust with the kids and put snacks out for Santa
Put presents out for the kids
Get an early night as back to work tomorrow
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today. Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Eve,

Morning all and a merry Christmas from me.
So far today, I have baked cookies for place settings to be decorated later, baked a sponge cake to be decorated later... there's a theme here, prepped stuffing and a fruit salad which is the toddlers starter tomorrow. All the rest of food prep is DHs domain.
I have presents to put under the tree and a dog to walk. Anything else flying wise will be a bonus.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Good morning all,
Iona, that sounds like a plan. Nobody really needs chocolate log or marzipan at this stage. I buy a pack of marzipan every year, and eat it by the chunk. Saves the arguments on who likes icing and who likes marzipan - that’s my excuse! Ok, so now you know another of my guilty secrets…
I’m pretty relaxed this morning, although there will obviously be the need for a list to be written. I guess that we are in this sweet spot, where DD is old enough to enjoy the day whatever it brings and to help cook etc, but young enough to still choose to spend time with these increasingly aging Ps. Plus, as many know, we have had some rough rides at Christmas time in the past, so every peaceful one together is a joy to be enjoyed, not stressed over. Apart from cooking that mutant chicken, of course….
Flying wise? Well, there is clean washing to sort, I have left the duster in the bedroom to see if it does the dusting itself, and I might run the vacuum cleaner around upstairs. Might. Apart from that, it will be cooking up a few treats and writing list upon list.
It’s wet and so very windy here, no desire to go anywhere, glad my 2 are safe indoors. Guess I had better get dressed. Cuppa anyone? xx9 -
To do today
Bathroom s&s, TD, then another full load, downstairs floors, good kitchen clean. Check if 3 bird roast needs a defrost. Chocolate cake to make (probably before kitchen clean up!). Get family to actually organise times.
Oops just realised my mum is due in an hour and I am still in bed!
Good luck today, folks, may all your tasks feel easy!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Morning all and hoping your Christmas Eve goes smoothly.
TD x 2, WM and DW x1
Getting up shortly, putting a stew in the SC, must thaw the pigs in blankets too. Will iron then I can get that all away. Need to pop to the shops later, too. And deliver a few cards. Then I plan a tidy round. Our Christmas meal guests will include my very good friend and her mum…the least I could do given the care and support she gave me through my treatment.
I’ll probably pop on later but I wish you all. a very merry Christmas, hope it’s not to stressful and all appliances work and all kitchens (etc) remain intact.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
