    I find myself playing a daily game with M&S - they send me an email telling me that they have cancelled some of my items. I then cancel that order as it isn't worth the phone call to haggle over the P&P charge that was subsequently applied. I then look at my history and use the links to see if any of the items are showing in stock and reorder them, including items that weren't in stock a few days ago but which are now.

    Tomorrow the process will begin again...and so on each day until I return to work and find something better to do with my time...:rotfl:

  • I'm doing the same seabiscuit, just checked and prices have been dropped further, so i've re-ordered again :D I wish i'd kept all my cancellation emails to see how many i've had in the last week.

    Lots further reduced on website but don't think I'm brave (or is that stupid!) enough to order anything as my Christmas Day order still hasn't come!
  • I can't believe that the M&S ordering process is still so bad - it's so frustrating, especially when other companies can get it right!

    However, as a bit of encouragement to those of you who are having hassles with your orders, it may work out in the end. I had exactly the same problems with my summer sale order, with daily emails saying things had been cancelled and constant delays with delivery. I wasn't in a rush to receive it, as it was basically all my Christmas presents for this year, so hung on and on to see what happened (at the same time, I was reading on here of people cancelling their orders completely). In the end, it came in dribs and drabs. A few things weren't available, but the bulk of it miraculously was re-available a few weeks later, so all was well in the end. Whether it was due to them suddenly getting stock from other stores/depots or people cancelling their orders, I'm not sure. But with all the savings I got, I was pleased to have stood it out and waited.

    Back to the current sale - if you hunt around on the site, there are still a number of items available and some with some fab discounts. I didn't get a chance to order before, but have taken another gamble and ordered a few bits this morning. Fingers crossed....
  • I too took the risk and ordered some items this morning. I've just found another item and tried to add it to my earlier order over the telephone (which I have done many times previously) and they wont let me - it's now not policy to do this apparently. I have had quite a lot of problems in the past 12 months with them cancelling orders - it seems it's OK for them to cancel items but not for the customer to add anything. The website is certainly not like it used to be and Customer Services always used to be very helpful and accommodating - not any more though!

    My Christmas Day order has been sent. And these items were all showing as being out of stock when I have been checking.

    Also brilliant reductions on cards and wrapping Paper
  • I can confirm another round of reductions at the Metro Centre store today. They were marking sale items with a red pen and you were told there were no returns on sale items bought today. Mens polo neck 100% cashmere jumpers were down to £15. Gift tags, 25p a packet and most ladies wear was between £5 - £12

    I was one of the ones who ordered on Christmas Eve and up to now I have received 7 complete orders. I made 8 small orders of between £32 - £50 and as yet I have had nothing shown as cancelled.

    My order that was placed at around midnight on Christmas Eve is still showing the same message - not yet despatched, anticipated despatch 8-10 January. I will be really upset if I don't get this. Don't M&S appreciate the time and effort we have all put in to placing these orders when we could have been doing something better!
    Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:
