  • ;) eating my lunch and reading with interest. i'm all for complaining to watchdog. just received a message from m&s :rotfl: as i type...off to see what else has been cancelled
  • I too am really unhappy with marks and spencer I placed an order early on the 1st day of the sale and like so many others I keep getting emails saying more and more things are out of stock!!!! and puting the delivery date further back every time. The way this is going I will end up with nothing!!!

First and last time I will be ordering with them!!!!

  • yep

    Dear Customer,

    Thanks for your recent order.

We experience extremely high levels of demand during the M&S SALE and occasionally items sell out as other orders for them are in the process of being placed - orders are confirmed on a first come first served basis. As a result we're sorry to tell you that since your order was placed, one or more of the items you ordered are out of stock. These items have now been cancelled from your order and will not be visible in your online account...... lblah blah blah blah

  • is there anything MSE Martin can do to help our case?

:D Went into birmingham M and S yesterday afternoon and all the left over summer stock was reduced to £2....picked up 20 items and went to the till...all the Autograph items and mens wear that I had went through the till at 1p each... the SA said ...god you have some bargains...and carried on...so its worth a look if you are in store.....

All sale items go through as 1p, the sa was supposed to have corrected the price as shown on the sale ticket. I do get excited sometimes when 1p appears on the till but then the sa changes the price.:o

Well done on those bargains though, if you go back, make sure you get the same sa!:T
  • I've had enough and cancelled the few remaining items on order.
If this is there idea of good cs then no thanks I'll spend my money elswhere.
  • I placed my order at 8am on Christmas morning and got my full order delivered last Saturday morning.
Last year I was messed about and ended up cancelling the order when it got to mid January as I was going away on holiday.
    Josey
  • Ive just emailed Watchdog too, gave up on my order this time instead of crossing my fingers that i'd be lucky, and purchased the items elsewhere (Wilkinsons who despatched the items the next day after i ordered it). Am keeping fingers crossed Next deliever the rest of the bits i wanted from M&S, but judging by other posts, my hope is quickly running out.

Cant fault the cs though, is tonnes better than M&S, my dh listened in to the tc i made to Next and even he was impressed, M&S cs leaves a lot to be desired from my experiences. I got a £10 voucher in 2006(i think it was, if anyone finds my posts from last years m&s thread, please correct me if im wrong) even that took quite a few weeks to arrive.

What i cant understand, why M&S say there is a first come first served policy, so what about you poor lot who ordered on xmas eve/very early xmas day, who have had your orders cancelled or postponed by aeons? I dont exactly call that first come first served:mad: more like pot luck. Maybe they have a big raffle to decide who actually gets the stuff.

Fingers crossed a few of you will be appearing on Watchdog soon giving what for!:T
  • I got my delivery charge refunded very quickly this morning after emailing them. This is their reply as to my query why there website isn't updated...

On our website we try to make sure we only show you items that are available to buy and we refresh our availability information every 15 minutes. Occasionally, when a product is popular or during sale periods and special offers, it is possible for a number of customers to order the last item at the same time. We're working on our availability systems as a priority to try and prevent this in the future.

I think we would all agree this is rubbish as a bag and bedding I ordered was still showing in stock 5 days after they cancelled mine...how can that have been updated every 15 minutes

I had an order in before 11pm on the 24th (Sale items appeared around this time) and they've emailed me saying that some of the items have sold out.... Rubbish!

I ordered around this time too and have since experienced the annoyance of things going out of stock and then being charged delivery. I also find it hard to believe it is on a first come first served basis.

And it gets better - I emailed them yesterday as I had no luck on their customer service line and was told "The person you spoke to was correct in saying they can not change the delivery charge at the moment. This is because the shipment is being generated and is beyond a point at which it can be amended. I will make sure I follow this up tomorrow and check on your order, if I am able to refund the delivery charge then I will do so."

However today I received another email saying "Following my email sent yesterday, I'm afraid I will have to cancel the entire order as the items are out of stock. I was hoping you may be lucky and get the last few items as our computer system indicated that the shipment was due to be dispatched. The order has not progressed since yesterday though so it appears this was a technical fault as the items are out of stock. You will not be charged for any of the order not received."

Surely if it is on a first come first served basis I would not be one of the 'lucky' ones to receive my order!

My delivery date estimate was 3-7 Jan and my order is still showing on My Account on the M&S website so I hope no one else gets this disappointing news! I have will reply as I see some people have recieved vouchers to spend instore which sounds great since I have lost confidence in their online store!
