I experienced all of this in M&S's last sale so didn't even bother looking at this sale - they're doing themselves no favours whatsoever - would be better not even having an online sale until they've sorted themselves out as they are alienating alot of customers!
  • What is still remaining on my order page is slowly being sent out in drips and drabs.

One item at a time clearly can't be economical on postage.

The items are all from the same kind of department, so it isn't as if they can use the excuse of clothing is kept in one warehouse and gifts in another.

It will be interesting to see what arrives.

When I went through all this in the summer sale with M&S I phoned to complain and was offered the £10 online voucher. I said I didnt feel that compensated me for the time spent ordering and then having to go and buy certain items somewhere else due to their lack of fulfilling the order, and they increased the vouchers to £20. Keep fighting your cause guys!! ;)

I vowed never to use their online site gain but then my Mum announced at the beginning of December that she had seen a cardigan in there she liked so I ordered it (with some other bits), taking advantage of the free delivery offer. I ordered on the 14th Dec and got an email on the 19th saying the cardigan was out of stock. I sent a polite but firm email saying I was very disappointed with the service as it was not too late to order anything else for xmas delivery and also that I had been charged for delivery for the other items as the total was now under £30. I have had no reply from them.

I did place an order in the sale, only because I was awake at 4am on xmas morning and ds was still asleep. Surprise surprise I've had an email saying an item is out of stock / I've been charged delivery / the delivery date has been put back to 1-18 January.

I won't be disappointed if I dont receive the sale order as its what I've come to expect from their appalling website, but they will be receiving another email from me soon ....

  • Havent seen much of deals on this forum. Rather there are more complaints and grievances.
People were deprived when they were awake late in night on Christmas deals for good bargains. £10 doesnt seem to be an appropriate compensation for such an effort.
They should seriously improve their online sales counters.
Littlewoods and few others can manage a better online sales counter system, why cant M&S. grrrrrrrrrrr.
I am angry although i got all my stuff instore and cancelled all my online purchase. This angerness is due to the efforts that people put in to get deals and they are deprived.
I will fill in the watchdog form for sure.
  • There must be method in their madness.
They have cancelled 2/3 of my order then charged me a 1/3 of delivery then subtracted an unknown percentage of FREEDELV?

i placed 2 orders for approx £100 each on xmas eve about 11.30pm as the sale started early

i have had 4 or 5 emails telling me items are out of stock

i have only received 1 item

the remaining items were all due for delivery around 3-4th jan but then got put back to around 5th-8th jan have now been put back to between 10th-15th jan

i've got fed up of waiting and didn't want orders to go below £30 so just cancelled everything as i probably wasn't going to get any of it anyway, judging by whats happened in previous sales.
  • I can't believe they are still saying "they are working on their "availability systems to try and prevent this in the future". I got this reply over a year ago when I had the same problems. I don't know any other site which is so consistently bad with their stock control online. It's worse because you just don't expect it from such an organisation.

    It gets worse.

I spent ages on the phone to M&S customer services on Saturday trying to get the delivery charge refunded. They insisted the free delivery did not apply to sale items but after a long argument they agreed to refund it. I checked my account afterwards and it was refunded. However yesterday I had yet another email about out of stock items and checking back in my account they have added the £3.50 postage yet again. Back to square one:mad:

Now down to only £7 worth out of £45 and I doubt that I'll get these.

I've spent hours dealing with this so I think some compensation is appropriate;)

Kittykittten thanks for your suggestion, i think its a great idea and once we all fill in that little form they will surely get featured on watchdog, i feel they deserve to be insulted and humiliated on national tv, after all have they not insulted ad wasted our time by giving us false hope that we shall get our goos??

Time for a little consumer action, as martin says the power is in ou hands, so i think we should all report them to watchdog atleast. anyone on board?

Im way to tired right now, but tomorrow i shall post a direct link for everyone,
    nite all x x
