Marks and Spencer sale

After reading this thread I sat thinking, thats ok - it hasn't happened to me yet. But heyho...2 days ago I received an email stating amongst other things:
"As a result we're sorry to tell you that since your order was placed, one or more of the items you ordered are out of stock. These items have now been cancelled from your order and will not be visible in your online account."
I looked at my account like others on here and it had dropped below £30 so was being charged delivery for the remaining few items that were apparently still being delivered. So I sent this message to them:
"I am absolutely appalled at your lack of ability to fulfill an order with regards to order no: xxxx which was placed online on the 27th. Why was I not emailed the same day about any "out of stocks" - why has it taken 2 days when you said apparently others were ordering the products I had ordered at the same time as me? Why do you not have a "real time" ordering system which allows me to know at the time of placing an order whether my goods will be in stock? I am also appalled at now being charged delivery charges, despite me having fulfilled the requirement of spending £30+ with your company - its YOU that can't fulfill my order. As a loyal Marks & Spencer customer, and indeed &More credit card customer, I am extremely disappointed with the service I have experienced with your company. I await your response on this matter."
I received a reply today of:
"The entire order has been cancelled because the items are out of stock. In reply to your email, if you read the terms and conditions you will find it states 'offer available for a limited time and may end without notice'. We're working on our availability systems to try and prevent this in the future. Apologises for the inconvenience, for this i have issued a £10.00 promo to be redeem on your next online buying".
So whilst I'm not happy - I didn't receive any notification of the remaining items being cancelled - apart from this email - at least its worth complaining - you might get a tenner out of them! (if anyone dares to order from them again that is! LOL!). Hope others get at least some of their orders.0 -

Really pleased for you, because reading through this thread you're obviously in the minority. One person out of loads more isn't very good.Amo L'Italia0 -

Why don't you just cancel the whole order? I can't understand why everyone is more focussed on getting a bargain, and willing to be bullied and pushed around by some national company who obviously care more about their sales than their customers.Amo L'Italia0 -

When am I going to see m and s on watchdog, it may "help" them to get their online site in order0 -

My orders placed on Christmas Day are still showing delivery 8th-10th Jan, so fingers crossed they will turn up. I hope so after all the time and effort put in placing those orders.
Stuart Rose got a knighthood, I will be happy if I just get the stuff I have ordered!Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
I also ordered on Christmas Day and my order total was £301.00 - I have received 2 emails from them since stating some goods are out of stock - my order has been reduced to £173.00 now and delivery mid- end jan! I am not surprised - just annoyed I ordered anything at all.
I got free delivery. I will wait and see what get delivers and then return the lot.
That way its costing them and I get a bit of satisfaction. I would however rather have the goods.0 -
