Evening everyone
@Asparklierblonde I'm so sorry to read of the loss of your alpaca, I understand your need for a post mortem. I hope the other one copes with the loss/you find ways of helping it cope xxxx
@Valli I'm envious of your sunshine. It's been a minimum 50 shades of grey here today - most of them on the darker spectrum. At least it hasn't been wet...
DS is on the mend - he went ice skating with DD and DGD this afternoon and this evening he's out with a mate from his school days who now lives abroad but has come back for Christmas. I'm sure the mate will drop by and say hello to me at some point - we've known him and his Mum for over 35 years.
DD and her bloke finally exchanged contracts on their new home yesterday and she is now all excited about the prospect of moving into their own home (they currently rent). They should complete day after tomorrow, Monday. They then have about three weeks before their rental lease expires to get moved in.
I've swished and swiped and brushed and swept bits and pieces here today. Covid arm is now painless unless I bump/touch the actual needle site which is quite bruised (he drew blood at the time!) and I'm feeling fine so no more side effects from that hopefully.
I had a letter from my pension company today - all is set up and I'll get my first pension payment on the last working day of this month (with back pay from 1 Nov when I actually retired). Interestingly, as I asked for a tax-free lump sum rather than commute it all to a monthly pension, they have included a (taxable) interest payment for the late payment of that lump sum. Given it was my employer that took time in providing the details, I'm pleasantly surprised by such consideration!
I realised this afternoon that I am all up-together for Christmas at the earliest time ever. I am normally wrapping presents and posting cards on Christmas eve whilst trying to prep dinner etc. However, the non-food stuff is all now done. Cards posted, presents wrapped, shopping list prepared. Retirement rocks - you have so much time!
I just need to go buy a tree and decorate it (I much prefer 'real' ones). I may do that tomorrow or I may leave it until Monday when it could be a bit quieter.
Have a lovely evening peeps xxx

been to Morrisons. was going to invite family round for Sunday lunch but DD is full of a cold (and feeling sorry for herself) so I’m not…no need to spread it around, Stepdad is a bit of a germophobe anyway, DS and DiL don’t need it so we’ll keep it here. I have bough balsam tissues and made hot lemon.

Wakey. Wakey. Rise and shine xx
Not a lot of shine going on here. I spent far too many hours in WAC last night. But now I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds and I'm supping my first brew.
It's lovely coming down to a clear sink and clear draining board. And the tree made me smile when I came through to LR. Yesterday's flying paying dividends 😊

Count me in, Round. Brew and a slice of toast, as it’s Sunday.
Clean washing folded…every little helps8 -
Oh ASB my love so sorry to hear that, that must be so upsetting but be kind to yourself. I know how DS felt when one of the horses he was looking after at work died suddenly a while back and my Dad who used to be a farmer was telling him that it's part of working with animals but you never really get used to it x
So, I have been out mingling with other humans two nights in a row. So proud of myself for not letting anyone else buy me drinks. Its silly but I hate getting into rounds of drinks because it costs a fortune and I get stressed about when I need to go to the bar and who I need to buy for. I don't have a lot of confidence with people I don't know well and being able to stick to my guns on this made me quite proud of myself.
Christmas presents are mostly bought and wrapped. I need to make a proper plan for food shopping so that I don't overspend. There is clean washing to put away and a bit of tidying but the house isn't too bad. It's dry out but windy, might see if DH fancies getting wrapped up and going for a walk.
Going to do a workout then get a shower and see what the day brings! Love to everyone, especially if things are a bit tough right now, it's not always the easiest time of year xx

Morning all
Thank you for your kindness. I spent a lot of time in the WAC last night worrying about the other alpaca, about the sheep, well about everything really. I took the children into town yesterday and DD got her ears pierced as promised. There was a lovely traditional meet Santa set up, with hot chocolate and a fire pit in the square, and the children asked if they could go. Given their ages I was quite pleased they wanted to see him - didn’t think to ask the cost - £35 for both of them 😳😳😳😳 and by that point they were already in there with him. I know it’s memories made but my goodness, it’s still bothering me now. It has come out of my ‘fun’ money budget but I was just very shocked.I am going to collect some blackberries from a friend this morning and give him some lamb. I really need to tidy up but I still feel very under the weather and need to rest too. Both children are coughing a lot as well. I’ve already cleaned the hens out this morning so that job is done, it’s blowing a gale here and set to remain that way all week 😏😏
Anyway I have rambled enough, have fab days all xxx9 -
Morning all.
ASB - sorry to hear about your lovely alpaca, and £35!! I thought £25 was a lot at a place I went to this week and am quite pleased DGDs parents were paying.
Village event went ok last night but I now have a pounding headache which must disappear before the Carol concert today.
I didn't get up until nearly nine. I've made the bed, washed up breakfast dishes and had a bath. Cot set up for DGD2 tonight and washing machine whirring.
Poppets walk is next.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Afternoon all, It's a rather windy day here. So far today I have had a lazy morning in bed (DH even made me a cuppa in bed) but done the last of the festive shopping except for a couple of sweets that I still need to get but DH is going to get these when he's shopping for me.
My list for the rest of today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Find an old lipstick for using with an elf antic tonight.
Go and visit MIL and take her presents to her.
Remind DH to write the cards for his side of the family
Do some exam revision as I have another exam on Tuesday.
Sort out the diary for the rest of this month and ensure everything is in it.
Make a start on sorting out the diary for January as it's looking like it's going to be a busy month
Wrap the present for work colleague as I need to take it to work tomorrow.
HHI
Do 2 loads of laundry.
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today, Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.9 -

To cheer myself up I called at the Co-op for a sandwich and Christmas TV magazine. No appropriate sarnies available. And Christmas TV magazine not on the shelf yet. My plans to be ultra organised have been foiled.
Heyho. Home now. Santa has delivered the tumble dryer to DS and DF today. Big Tick. Only cards left to deliver are for DS and DF, plus DF's parents. I'll hand them over on Christmas Day. Oh and H's - who I'm going to visit tomorrow afternoon. Just wrapping to do then.....
Food first though.
