Hugs to ASB and to YL. And £35 made my eyes water too. But as you say, making memories.
I finished my library book yesterday with hours to spare before it returned itself to the library there is a queue for it apparently. So good, if anyone fancies finding it - Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister.
Flying-wise - bathrooms cleaned, QHI, and I have been channeling my inner domestic goddess. Not as successfully as Iona, but I have bread proving, pastry made, various veggie bits prepped for the return of DD tomorrow. Cookies are next on my list - a new to me recipe with spices and mincemeat in. We shall see.8 -
ASB more condolences, I love alpacas and have an adopted one which lives on a rescue farm in Cornwall; we visited him once years ago and I have a hat and gloves from 'Rodney's fleece. I hope the other one is ok.
We returned this afternoon from a weekend at Mum's so apart from a lovely family meal out, we have been flying at her house. Very pleased that after my nagging, she is getting her narrow, uneven garden path re-paved for safety.
Since we got back to the chaos, I have continued writing a report, written a long list of things to do in the next few days, read gas and electric meters and sent them off and answered a few emails. Mr N has been rubbing down and varnishing the conservatory windowsill; tomorrow we will mask and paint parts of the wall where the pipes have been moved, before the vinyl flooring comes on Tuesday. Traffic was bad on our way to Mum's on Friday so we have decided that we will most likely go down there for Christmas late on Thursday as I'm sure everyone will be travelling on Friday. That doesn't give many days to complete the list......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
