Thanks for the suggestions @Valli and @kazwookie.
The local radio station offices are too far away for it to be viable for me to drop of a £5 child's puzzle book petrol/time wise but I'll investigate the Sally-Army and other Church options, food bank options. I can wrap it up nicely and label it suitably...

All planned jobs done, including all presents wrapped, which is a first for me this early in the proceedings. It shows how much less I buy these days which is mainly a good thing. Mould removed from bedroom window frames and the windows cleaned for good measure. Bonus points for cutting out a pair of pj bottoms from an old duvet cover that I found behind the chair in the spare bedroom. The elastic finally went in my ancient pair of pj bottoms yesterday. Ooh er, missus.
Dinner created from various odds and ends in the fridge. Kitchen tidied and put to bed. This evening I plan to finish the pair of socks that I’m making for DD for Christmas, then carry on getting anxious about going back to work tomorrow. Just think how much more I can worry between now and then, given a good stint in the WAC.8 -

Morning all
Looks like it's going to be a wet day today.
This is today's to-do list. Anything extra will be a bonus!- Wrap spare child's book and drop it off somewhere
- Post cards
- Make labels for Christmas gift packages
- Wrap Christmas presents and label them
- Go to a walk-in covid vax chemist (nearest is about five miles away) and get jabbed - get flu jab at same time if possible. I should have done this ages ago but will do now particularly as DS is unwell and I'll probs see him over the weekend. Mind you, I'm a bit concerned, I've sent him a 'how are you?' text message this am but there's been no reply so far. I'll leave it until lunchtime to call.

Morning all. I was awake at 5.00 today and drank a cuppa before dropping off to sleep again, and didn't wake up properly until 8.45!!!!!
Yesterday afternoon I met DGD1+2 off the school bus in their village and brought them back here for tea - there are roadworks on the road between our town and the big village where their school is situated, so it was actually quicker to drive the extra 2 miles to collect them from their village than to follow the diversions through the country lanes. Whilst I finished preparing a "roast" dinner (it was actually brisket in the SC, very succulent), they put up most of the rest of the Christmas decorations for me. DG1 is getting very tall and willowy, and her favourite activity is rock climbing, so she was happy to go up ladders and reach up to drape strings of lights from the curtain rails while DGD2 concentrated on getting the tree perfect. Very useful girls! DS1 joined us for the meal so we had a 3-tier birthday coffee cake for dessert: one tier for each 25 years of his life and an extra layer for the additional 25 years of mine
This morning I have already done a quick PUPA/S&S all round the house and paid a visit to MrAl to pick up some special offer lambswool inners for my wellies. At 11.30 I have a telephone meeting for up to an hour, and the weather forecast is currently suggesting 2.00-3.00 as the best time to take Rosie for her walk, but the rest of the day is going to be devoted to writing - and posting - all our cards.
Just time to check the contents of the freezer and make a meal plan for the next 10 days, to use up the ready-cooked stuff and make room for various large items for the family's visit on 29th, before I get my coffee and settle down for the phone call.
Hope that the poorlies are feeling better and everyone has a good day xxx10 -
Afternoon all, Hope everyone is well. So far today I have got dressed, fed the animals and been to uni campus to do one of my exams.
My list for this afternoon
Do paid stuff (2pm- 6pm)
Check banking and direct debits
Sort through the drawer in the bedroom as it's so messy that I can't close it properly.
Do some revision for the exam that I have next week.
Tidy up uni work that is currently spread across the living room.
Do some online festive shopping.
Do a load of laundry
HH me time as it has been a stressful week.
Collect DH from his work, as I am using his car whilst mine is in the garage (I'm dreading the bill at the end of the week)
Think that is everything that I need to tackle this afternoon, hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday.
