Morning everyone
Finally finished making the Christmas cards last night. I'm pleased with them. Am going to try the Post Office ordering stamps online and printing them off process today to see how that works rather than queue at the PO itself.
Mr T due to deliver this morning.
Loads of presents due to arrive from the second-longest river in the world outfit at some point today so I'm going to make little labels to attach to the parcels when they are wrapped.
Need to finalise the Saturday buffet and Christmas day menus (almost there)
I can't actually believe how quickly Christmas has come round in the last few weeks.
Will phone the pension people today to make sure they've received my email - I've had no acknowledgement, but I'm not sure if I would get one straightaway...
Will do some housework as and when the mood takes me.
Hope everyone stays well and has a good day.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning all,
WM x 1 here too, no TD so everywhere feels even damper and chillier. HHI cleared.DH is being a pita. Sometimes it is better that I am out at work for most of the week.
Next job, s&s bathroom, then complete the Christmas wrapping and finalise the Mr M shop that is due tomorrow. That’s the plan anyway.10 -
Morning.
First work shift, dailies and dog walk, including an errand, all done. I'm popping to a friends house after lunch then back for more paid stuff.
I can't be bothered to do any more flying today except essentials so I th8nk more knitting is in order.Spend less now, work less later.11 -

Well, busy day.
Dusted and swept living room and replenished indoor log store.
Phoned the pension people and they have received my paperwork. I'm to call them if I haven't heard anything within a week. I'm hoping that means my lump sum will be in the bank before Christmas! This is because DD and her bloke are due to complete on their first house purchase next Monday (they are currently renting) but not due to move into it until end December and I've offered them an interest free loan to help with buying a cooker etc. It would be good not to have to transfer funds from savings if the pension lump sum can hit my current account in time (I'll then transfer the remainder to savings).
Did a test run of home-made vegan scones (DD is vegan) for the Saturday buffet and drove them over to DD's house this avo for her to taste test. Some constructive feedback will be taken on board. I think I might have used a bit too much liquid as it tasted 'doughy' apparently but she still loved them...
Ordered, paid for and printed off the Royal Mail online postage labels (you type in the address and name of the people you want the item to be sent to) which really is an innovation - certainly saves queuing in the PO. OK, you need a printer and spend time cutting the label out and then sticking it on the envelope, but I feel that takes less time than a visit to the PO and can be done whilst watching the TV. I could have requested the cards be collected but decided I wouldn't choose that option. The sorting office is only about a mile down the road so I can pop them in the PO box sometime tomorrow.
Mr T and the people from the second longest river in the world arrived at the same time this morning so it was good to have all deliveries at once. Mr T stuff put away, other deliveries checked.
With the other delivery checking, it seems I accidentally ordered two copies of a book for DGD rather than one so did the return request for one book. Outcome almost immediately agreed - refunded the cost of one of them but was told I don't need to return the spare book. So, it's still mine but superfluous to requirements.
I'm wondering what the best way of donating it to a family who is strapped for cash with an 8yo child as an extra Xmas present would be... I don't want to just advertise on the recycle group on Facebook because you don't know if the people who respond really are in need... Dilemma - anyone have a solution for that please?
My other concern is, as I mentioned earlier, DS is in London for the week staying at an hotel. He had to leave the London office this morning and go back to his hotel room as he's feeling v. fluey (head-achy, skin-crawly and sore throat). Does he catch the train home and potentially infect everyone on it on Friday if he's still feeling rubbish, does he upgrade to taxis/first class rather than tube and steerage or does he stay up there until he's over the worst? I know for certain he ain't coming here until next Monday at the earliest!
Hope you are all OK xxxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
