Morning all, It's a windy but dry start to the day. I decided to have a slow start to the day after a lovely meal out with DH last night. I start my new job later today so feeling excited but nervous as it is my first job connected to the degree that I am studying.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Take DS to his drama group and collect
Take my broken necklace to the jewellers to see if they can fix it.
Festive card shopping whilst in town.
Take DS and DD to PC
Find an old lipstick for using with an elf antic tonight.
Do paid stuff (5pm - 10pm, start my new job today)
Do online festive shopping
Deal with the Mr T delivery
Remind DH to write the cards for his side of the family
Wrap present for a work colleague and MIL
Do some exam revision as I have another exam on Tuesday.
Sort out the diary for the rest of this month and make sure that everything is in it.
Make a start on sorting out the diary for January as it's looking like it's going to be a busy month.
Think that is everything that I need to tackle today, hope everyone has a lovely Saturday.

Morning all.
Good luck with the job MMM.
Dailies and dog walk are done and I've made some biscuits for a village event later today. Going to watch telly, probably a Xmas film this afternoon.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
It was still morning when I started this post, and so far today I have
- PUPA in the kitchen and LR (this might be almost all the flying I achieve today)
- written the last of the Christmas cards and put stamps on those that need one
- updated the church website with all the Christmas services (better late than never! - but I have had the dodgy Internet to deal with all week)
- had breakfast (eventually) but still waiting to shower!!! (Our showers can't be used simultaneously, so I told DH to have his first today, and he's not moved since...)
- checked the contents of the freezers before I go shopping
- found the recipes for easy chocolate truffles, for my goddaughter W to make for mum K, and ginger cake, for her sister M to make for mum K when they come here tomorrow (without K of course!!! but with M's godmother to work with her while I'm working with W)
- discovered "How to make a gift box out of A4 paper in 2 minutes" - well, it took me about 5 minutes, and I used A4 card, but it has a fold-over lid, and there is practically no waste, so W can make one to hold the truffles
Still to be done today:
- WMx1
- Rosie's walk
- lunch
- a quick visit to the postbox and MrAl
- tea
- DH will want to watch Dr Who before the Strictly final
- ??? early night???
Ah, the shower is now free for me
A gentle reminder to Flylady Secret Santa participants: if you're one of the few people who haven't already told me that you have posted your Santa gift or received your own, please don't forget to PM me when you do - or I shall start getting worried that someone is going to be left disappointed. Thank you!

Hello lovely friends
Sorry I have been quiet. Our lovely lovely alpaca died suddenly this week; he was only 17 months old. We are heartbroken, and are having a post mortem done. His best friend, our remaining alpaca, is lost without him and they can die from grief 😕😕 so we need to decide what to do. He was absolutely fine, then that was it. Naturally I am worrying I did something wrong / omitted to do something I shouldn’t. He always looked like he was smiling and ate out of my hand. My boy xxxx
I have had a little weep this morning on unwrapping the outer packaging for my flylady secret Santa. Whoever you are, you’ve made me smile more this morning and weep tears of gratitude for having such kind friends. I am intrigued to open the gift itself on the day, but in the meantime will follow the instructions to the letter, I promise! We are popping into town shortly. We all have a hacking cough still, so won’t be long. I need to take some bits of cardboard to the tip (I don’t want to clog up the recycling with it, which will
be fuller than normal over the Christmas break), and pick up some essentials. The children will have a look at the clothes / books / toys in the charity shops too.
Strictly final and LO corned beef hash for tea. Enjoy your days friends xxx9 -
Oh, I'm so sorry asb. Sending much love and big hugs your way xx
All pots are now WUDUPA. Second load of laundry has been swished and is on the airer. And the tree is up, the lights are lit, and the empty boxes and bag are waiting to go back upstairs. No Sweetie watching me this year and looking askance at the tinsel and lights.
I have other things to do but I'm going to rest on my laurels and read my book for a while.
iona - there's no Dr Who on terrestrial telly tonight. Of course you may be going to watch on catchup telly. I'm still on the watch it when it's on or miss it telly. Old school lol.

Very sorry to hear the sad news of your alpaca, asb. Please don't blame yourself for his death - animals can't tell us if they feel ill. I am sure you will all be giving the remaining one oodles of love and attention. xxx (and I have noted the safe arrival of your FSS parcel, thank you.)
Round, I don't watch Dr Who (usually too busy cooking at the time it's on) but I had assumed that there would be an episode tonight because it feels like every time I turn on the TV I see a trailer with the new Doctor doing something-or-other amazing/hair raising/valiant/[insert your own choice of adjective]. It's DH who is the avid fan in this household.
I have been out for a good long walk with Rosie and enjoyed the sunshine and glorious views. We went through the little covert, where I spotted 4 squirrels but I don't think she saw any - I think her eyesight might have started to deteriorate faster than mine
I forgot that I need to sew the badges on W's new Scout top today, so that I can return it to K tomorrow. But the visit to MrAl needs to come first, or we shall not have any tea tonight.
Have a relaxing evening, everyone xxx

Thank you xxx
Thrilled to report we have no need to venture near a shop until the new year. Meat in freezer, veg comes from a friend's allotment and the few presents we give are wrapped. DD got her ears pierced today for the second time so she is pleased. Enjoy your evenings all xx9 -
Washing brought in - not bone dry but not far off -these are my bedsheets so will be lovely and fresh when they go on the bed. Walk had alomg part of the Monsal Trail - nice and flat; my friend has knee trouble, I have trouble too and we are both devoid of stamina. Lots of sunshine, a cheeky robin and a flock of twitchers spotted - and interrogated - they were waiting for waxwings. Kudos to me for knowing waxwings migrate here from a colder country! (I am in no way a birder so the slightest thing makes me proud of myself lol)
hugs ASB (and I am intrigued by the instructions...)
Rabbit hutch reset under the watchful eye of said rabbits who popped in to check. We are out of sawdust now...so I must investigate where I can get it from.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
