But she hasn't has she?
You really would rather people did not get a refund than admit you are wrong! When members of the banking profession posses this ethos it is hardly surprising that any of you are unlikely to assist a customer get a refund.
I would say that the reason that any Visa debit card customers are struggling to get refunds are because of exactly your attitude.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

She is most definately a he  lol
gogetitgirl thank you very much for the Telegraph article. I have spoken to Halifax Customer Services quoting it and my case is now being investigated. Chap I spoke to said it could take up to 3 months so it's now a case of sit back and see.
ejones999, forgive my ignorance for thinking of writing to Visa Debit Services. I was unaware they only deal with LTSB customers, as maybe you can imagine the fact that I'm circa £1,500 down at the moment (before I even get to Vegas  ) I thought it would be worth a shot.0 -
So Debit cards are a different issue but if purchased on a Credit Card will a refund be issued? Natwest have been fine about issuing me a refund but my sister is having hassle from her provider for a refund and definately on credit card.
Does anybody know the answer to this or any tips for s eeking such a refund?0 -

Please let me know if you receive your refund - wish you luck! Keep chasing the Halifax and hopefully you won't have to wait 3 months!0 -
I wasn't stranded but I had two flights booked for March and July on an MBNA mastercard. They are telling me they won't claim for a refund until either:
(a) the travel date has passed; or
(b) I get written confirmation from MaxJet that they definitely won't be flying on those dates; or
(c) Companies House web site shows that the company is in liquidation
I thought (c) was a bit peculiar for a US corporation, but it is listed...
Given that I've already panic-rebooked these flights with BMI, can I speed things up at all? MBNA said to please call back in 30 days and when I called MaxJet to ask for a letter they didn't want to know.
Those of you that already got refunds, were you all due to have travelled already?0 -

Hi - I was due to travel in August this year. When I wrote to the Lloyds TSB Visa Debit Centre, I sent them a copy of the email received from Maxjet confirming the purchase of my tickets with my payment details. I also sent them a print-out of the statement on the Maxjet website, which says they have filed for bankruptcy and that cardholders should contact their card providers/travel agent for a refund.0 -
I booked 2 return flights to Las Vegas for New Year's Eve using my M&S card back in October 2007. I have been trying to get a refund from them sicne 27th December and I'm not getting very far. I rang the customer services number 0845 900 0900 on 27/12/07 and they said they would pass the details on to the relevant dept and someone would contact me. I'd heard nothing by the end of last week so used the website email but no joy there either so I rang the other customer services number in your email - 0845 - today and still nothing concrete. All they say is they will pass the details to the dept dealing with this. Has anyone paid for Maxjets tickets with their M&S card got a refund yet? Anyone got any suggestions on who I should write to as I'm fed up with speaking to people in a call centre who call this a "disputed payment". I'm not given any call reference number or any evidence that it is actually being processed!0
