Well done LevDaFish for finding that article.
Here is the relevant part:
And after being contacted by the Oxford Mail, Lloyds TSB have confirmed the couple may be eligible for a refund. A Lloyds TSB spokesperson said: "Under Visa chargeback rules, customers are eligible for protection on purchases made. As such, we are happy to consider Mr Booker's refund request."

I wrote to my HBOS group credit card supplier Dispute's department in Dunfermile on 28 December, to claim £3,846 that I had paid Maxjet for flights this coming June.
I just checked my CC account online and I'm pleased to report that my account has now been credited with the full value of the claim. I think that's pretty good sevice, to be honest.
I know us MSErs have a healthy suspicion of the financial services industry, but I have to say that they've been first class over this.0 -
What did you send to HBOS to prove to them that MaxJet had actually gone bust? MBNA still won't believe it and say there's a chance the flight could happen so I can't have a refund until after my planned travel dates.0

Hi
I sent:
1. a copy of the email I received from Maxjet
2. A copy of the message on the Maxjet web site
3. A copy of the flight itineries and the "Electronic ticket Records" for my family from www.mytripandmore.com
4. A copy of the credit card statement showing the transaction
5. A covering letter.
Hope this helps. Good luck

I too purchased tickets with Maxjet on my Barclay Debit Card.
I have sent a Customer Dispute Disclaimer form but have been told unless I can get a letter from ATOL, the form will be sent back to me.
I have sent the form anyway explaining that airlines do not have an ATOL and have provided the Maxjet letter from their website and copy of my itinerary for my flights. Unfortunately, the email Maxjet had for me was disabled mid december and therefore did not receive an email from them informing me of their file for bankruptcy. I have emailed Maxjet but am doubtful that I will get a reply. Do you think that the documents sent away will be sufficient? If not, can somebody please advise what my next step should be to claim a refund for my flights. I have spent over £1800 for flights to Las Vegas and really don't want to be out of pocket.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I received an official notification letter from a bankruptcy court in Delaware USA yesterday. I would have thought that all passengers who had flights cancelled will get one if they booked direct. This MUST be sufficient evidence for all credit card companies! As I was 'in-transit' when they went bust only my return flight was unused (they never contacted me so I had to arrange my own flight home).
I have claimed from my credit card company, but am unsure whether to register with the bankruptcy court as a creditor as well - does anyone have any advice?0 -

If your credit card company has refunded you, what are you going to claim for?Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

My credit card company have not refunded me yet, so I am wondering if I should hedge my bets.0

I too was in the position of having booked and paid for flights to LAX for a trip in March. I contacted Halifax on the 27th and it couldn't have been easier. I was advised to forward a covering letter and proof of purchase together with the e-mail from maxjet to their disputes department and it would be processed from there.
True to their word this week I have recieved confirmation that the charge is being credited back.
Thanks Halifax for making it so painless.:TKeep smiling,
