Problems using Santander Banking App

Sometimes I am unable to log in using my Santander banking app. Get revolving circle for 20 seconds then a "oops something went wrong" message. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?

I remember this problem being fairly widespread a while back.  I also remember the fix at that time.  What I cannot remember is the reason for the problem, or why the fix worked.  But the fix was to disable wifi and complete the installation and/or set up via mobile data.  Once that set up was complete, the app then worked via wifi and data.
  • Make sure the latest version of the app is installed.

I've been getting that whirling wheel recently using android.

My solution has been to close the app down (swipe up to get all the open apps, then close them one by one) and restart it, when it starts and runs fine.

Same here (also Android) - but I find it enough just to kill the Santander app.  I suspect this happens when I don't log out of the previous session.  I wonder it ends up in a funny state when it times out the previous log in?

I had the same problem, but worse: I did not get a revolving circle at all. Instantly I got the "oops" message.

Santander's technical service couldn't help me. We deleted and re-uploaded the app, changed the log-in numbers, but nothing worked. Then Santander put the blame on Samsung "must be their latest update", I contacted Samsung, their answer: "Nothing to do with us". For about three months I did not have a working app.

Last week Santander invited me to use their new app, still in trial stage. So, I loaded down the "Santander Pilot" and everything has been fine since (touch wood).
  • I get that every so often when using the app on my IPad.  But find that fully shutting down the iPad and restarting sorts it out. For a while anyway! Downloaded and installed the new app yesterday. Worked fine while I was in it. But when I tried to login again later get error messages on that! And rebooting the iPad didn’t sort it. So will have to try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that works! My iPad is fully up to date with its IOS.
