Trying to cancel Setanta?!

I work for the customer services in Setanta. I can completly understand why these people are so upset at the way things are dealt with by setanta. Believe me the staff are so frustrated with the company aswell. But unfortunatly as we are employed by Setanta we have to follow the guidelines the company set out for us. There have been many complaints put forward to Managers about changes that NEED to be made.
To clarify for people we can no longer take cancellations over the phone. You have to put it writing and send it to the Newry address. Under the new T & C's you must give 60 DAYS NOTICE!!! Customer services have no control over refunds at all. A request for a refund must be made in writing to the Newry address.
All i can say is please go easy on the agents you are speaking to. They are doing the best they can with what little Setanta allow them to do. Sorry if you have had a bad experience. We will continue to put pressure on management to get the changes needed!!!0 -

When I telephoned to cancel and saying no to the 3 months for £5 offer I was told that a final payment of £9.99 would be taken and I had to send a letter to Sunderland. It sounds like the left hand does not know what the right one is doing.0

I called setanta today and they asked me to send a written letter to their sunderland office. I signed up online and they dont even have a signature to verify the authenticity of my letter. The world is going towards paperless billing and these guys are asking for a written paper letter !!!!! I have cancelled the DD and I am sending the letter anyway tomorrow by recorded delivery with a cheque for £10 (to cover 30 days notice) and will update what happens next :mad:0

I also had a pronblem with setanta sports last August, yet after I complained very strongly via email about the poor service, we were given 2 months free. The guy's email address who authorised this was: [EMAIL="matthew.kemp@setanta.com"]matthew.kemp@setanta.com[/EMAIL]

I am amazed at how easy it is to sign up to setanta, and how difficult it is to unsubscribe. i have phoned them, sent a notice of cancellation by letter (they received it on the 14th may) and as i am still getting their wretched channel on my freeview box, i sent them an emaill saying cancel immediatey or i will take it further. I am worried about cancelling my dd as i recently spent over a year getting an unfair default removed from my credit file. The default stopped me getting credit and possibly jobs too (hard to get a job in a bank with a default), until i found out about it and dealt with matters. I don't want to be doing that again! I will leave it a few days as i have got more important issues to deal with than an incompetent company like setanta, but i am now one of the many who isn't happy!:mad:0

Hi Everyone, I Cannot Believe How Bad Sentanta Is, They Have Resulted Me In 140 Of Bank Charges And Yet Every Letter I Send Gets Ignored, It A Total Insult They Kep Changing My Billing Date Then Say It Was My Own Fault Cos I Changed Package, Which Was News To Me, They Have Left Me With Not A Penny In The Bank After Clearly Admitting That I Requested The Billing Date To Be 1st Of Each Month And Not A Single Payment Has Came Out On That Date, I Am At My Wits End They Have Taken My Last Its Just So Unfair I Am Gutted, I Hate Sentanta Soooooooooooo Much For What They Have Done To Me, And To Top It When I Asked The 'manager' Who Their Ombudsman Was He Said And I Quote "whos That?" I Mean Honestly, And Thats Coming From A Manager, I Have Now Written And Emailed Numerous Times To Be Told Everytime I Call That They Have No Notification Of That Mean Be Real, I Warn Everyone If U Ever Think Of Accepting A Special Offer To Switch You Back On do Not Do It!!! They Have Caused Me So Much Stress And All I Ask For Is My Money Back I Think Its Only Fair, Never In My Wildest Dreams Did I Imagine This Backlash!!! And To Top It The Woman Who Switched Me Back On Did So Without My Agreement As She Was Having A Problem Switching Me Back On after She Called Me and Then Once There Seemed No Solution To The Problem She Had The Cheek To Say Well Come On Miss Fraser Be Fair I Was Supposed To Finish 5 Minutes Ago And I Need To Get Home I Cant Spend Any More Time With You On The Phone, What An Insult!!! So I Told Her To Forget It And Shred My Details For The Direct Debit And Surprise Surprise She Ignored It And Went Ahead And Switched Me Back Ont He Next Day, I Am Now Away To Take This Further As I Have Just Checked And This Is Breaking Banking Rules Plus I Have Just Had It Confirmed They Have Got This Call Recorded So Keep Digging Sentanta Cos The Hole Is Just Getting Bigger And Bigger, There Seems No End To Your Mistakes And I Have Proof Of It, I Am Not Gonna Stop Til I Get All My Money Back You Have So Cheekily Taken From Me In The Most Undignified Way Possible Causing Me Nothing But Distress!!!!!0
