Trying to cancel Setanta?!

  • I phoned up yesterday (phone call no.1). I got transferred to the customer loyalty department (read: Highly Trained Defensive Operatives Unit). I swore at the operative on the other end because he would NOT stop trying to sell me some other package. He got stroppy because I swore (one F word! Jeez, grow up!) and I ended up hanging up. It was either that or REALLY swear at him.

    Anyway... thanks for the address. I will be queueing up at the post office ready for when it opens on Monday morning so I can go registered postal on their as.

    I'm ashamed that I didn't get the operative's name though. Sorry.

    The quest continues...

    My recorded delivery letter to Sunderland still hasn't come up as delivered on the royalmail website... nearly two weeks after it being sent.

    Are they refusing delivery? Can they do that?

  • I am shocked at how Setanta is allowed to behave in this manner . Are they misinformed or what . I can only echo the same experience as others on this page . I grew suspicious when the address given to me (Sunderland SR99X2)was clearly not a complete address and when I googled the postcode I stumbled into this site . I am glad I am not alone here ! I would be grateful to anybody who can tell me what the solution to this problem is .
  • i have now sent 7 letters in total, emailed numerous people and called and still nothing has been done as to them taking money out of my account without authorisation, something has to done about this company and i am away to start taking this further, would u believe in my last call i asked a customer services MANAGER who their ombusman was and he said and i quote 'who's that' what a joke, i think this company should be shut down they cant keep treating their customer like this!!!

    Use This Number To Call Them I Got Through Within 30 Seconds, Its Not To Say They Will Be Any Better But At Least You Will Not Be Spending A Fortune Using 0870 Numbers, I Think They Have Ripped Us Off Enough!
  • If Setanta Is Taking No Action Contact Ofcom They Will Act On Your Behalf, I Am Currently Doing This Now As I Have Sent Numerous Letters And They Are Trying To Tell Me None Have Been Received, What A Joke This Company Is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I don't pay for my Setanta (V+ XL) but if I did and I had the problems you are all having, I would say to you "Don't get done, get Dom" Visit www.bbc.co.uk/consumer He'll get it sorted for you!

    Another thing that setanta are doing is taking out more than 1 debit month - mine is not on dd but via a visa card
    The payments are usually put back a few days later but because they are taken in euros the exchange rate changes and I always lose out between 40-50p per month!:mad:
