I've had two sets of results and paid up todate now
  • Same here, a whole 37p and 88p.  Together with the previous one of £4.40 that should just about pay for cooking Christmas dinner this year :D
My family think I am a bit sad, but I must admit I enjoy the challenge of trying to beat my target, even if there was no reward....

Apart from the seemingly erroneous calculation of the reward for 1/12/23 (which in my case was 80p, instead of the 54p I think it should have been), the average usage it has been based on has for me dropped slightly. It was 0.696 kWh per hour for the first event, but 0.469 kWh per hour for the 6th event. That is working backwards from the % saved according to Eon and the actual usage reported by n3rgy for my smart meter during the saving periods.
I twice saved 91%, by pretty much switching off everything except the fridege/freezer, alarm system and a few LED lights. Seriously irritates the other half and probably isn't worth the tiny financial saving and reward. :)
Our usage hasn't varied much, apart from the saving sessions, although I must admit to once delaying putting the dishwasher on during a non-saving weekday so that it was running during the time slots used for the saving sessions! ;)

Having not bothered with the 19/12 session, mainly for peace and tranquility at home ;) , we did nothing. Wife had the TV on as usual, and fridge/freezer, alarm, garage door sensor, Christmas lights, household lights were left on. No appliances were running and we didn't prepare a meal during the hour, as we didn't need to anyway.
According to n3rgy, my electricity usage for the hour was 0.354 kWh. So, if I'd totally switched the power off, I could have earned £1.06 by saving 100%. Add to that the cost of the electricity I wouldn't have used (ignoring any possible load shifting), I could have saved another 10p.
That hour of seasonal harmony potentially cost me as much as £1.16. I can live with that! :)

Long term forecast is showing settled, Less windy weather and those winds from the north, below average temperatures and frosts back from next Monday 8th. Perhaps opportunities start to arise....

Just think, if you switch your power off totally and save 100% next time, you could get as much as 19p!
