Yes, an unusual one. Two sessions, one from 17:30 to 18:00 and another from 18:30 to 19:00. We should know in an hour or so which suppliers have successfully bid for which session.1

For iPhone users, the Octo-Aid app is the best way. I get the Octo-Aid saving session alerts far quicker than the Octopus Whatsapp notifications. The app is not available for Android users yet although I believe the developer is working on it.EssexHebridean said:However said:
I've haven't. But then I never saw the last few notifications that were sent out until after the event. The last was time stamped 17.36 for a 1800-1830 session. Not being one of those addicts who are slave to their smartphone, I didn't see it until late that evening. I find it disappointing that I'm being excluded due to lack of notice. Surely the weather is not so unpredictable that at least 24 hours can be given, giving normal people like me a fighting chance of actually taking part in saving the planet as well as gaining a quid or two? (Please, responders, refrain from telling me to change to become another addict, no matter how outraged you may feel!)mmmmikey said:Notification just received of another possible session today....
For others who are willing to use their phones to help them make savings, WhatsApp notifications are about the best way of ensuring that you stand a good chance of seeing even the short notice tests that are being run. The reason for the short notice of course being that they are trying to test people's reactions to different notice periods, rather than live events which will be more influenced by weather.1 -

This thread is currently my primary source of information (so thank for all those that post the events). In the meantime, I've found the Octopus integration for Home Assistant has a couple of Saving Session entities - This latest session (if it goes ahead) will allow me to see if these entities work.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.3 -
It's been said dozens of time before: please consider this is most likely by design. ie. they are testing how quickly people react to a very short notice announcement. However said:

So, perhaps they are looking to identify how many people know how to work their smartphone, as opposed to the technophobes.0 -
There's a HA blueprint that automatically joins for youFreeBear said:EssexHebridean said: For others who are willing to use their phones to help them make savings, WhatsApp notifications are about the best way of ensuring that you stand a good chance of seeing even the short notice tests that are being run. Works for me.1 -
The Home Assistant integration can be configured to opt you in to the savings sessions automatically. I didn't mention it above but HA usually has me opted in before I even get the Octo-Aid alert.FreeBear said:EssexHebridean said: For others who are willing to use their phones to help them make savings, WhatsApp notifications are about the best way of ensuring that you stand a good chance of seeing even the short notice tests that are being run. Octopus bids for both slots have been rejected, so we'll have to wait and see what Octopus decide to do. In the past when their bids have been rejected they've gone ahead anyway, but what they do this time remains to be seen - i.e. will they do one or the other of the sessions, neither or both?2

For anyone looking for Uswitch/Utrack, I can't even see a bid from their partner Hildebrand this time.0

I could have told them they'd be rejected with that bid. Strange that they don't play sensibly.mmmmikey said:Octopus bids for both slots have been rejected, so we'll have to wait and see what Octopus decide to do.
