Sign up for alerts on the National Grid ESO website. Get it straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

How do I do this thanks, seems nothing here?

Ok so this free electricity is different and national? Please explain it thanks as is the first I heard of it.
I don't know any more than the Octoplus FAQs say - Introducing Octoplus, our brand new rewards programme | Octopus Energy

....but clearly from this part the "Power ups" are different to the "free electricity sessions"

I know this group is about saving sessions but just wondering I am a duel fuel user on the flexible tariff. I want to know do I need panels, battery or electric car to benefit from the agile or tracker tariffs. When I put my details in the calculator on website it only offers the flexible or fixed tariffs. Thanks

It looks like you know your way round the forum from he number of posts etc

There are two very large Tracker and Agile threads in he energy board but it's not a simple one or the other answer you have to drill down into your usage and compare it with say the Octopus compare app on Google play and they weigh up the risks and benefits and if you can load shift some usage and avoid 4-7pm a bit for Agile

I do suggest posting on those chats as well

You don't need PV, EV or batteries. You do need a smart meter, though.

I've haven't. But then I never saw the last few notifications that were sent out until after the event. The last was time stamped 17.36 for a 1800-1830 session. Not being one of those addicts who are slave to their smartphone, I didn't see it until late that evening. I find it disappointing that I'm being excluded due to lack of notice. Surely the weather is not so unpredictable that at least 24 hours can be given, giving normal people like me a fighting chance of actually taking part in saving the planet as well as gaining a quid or two? (Please, responders, refrain from telling me to change to become another addict, no matter how outraged you may feel!)
