I got the notification through WhatsApp at 16:54, I had an Octopus Home Mini delivered so wanted to set that up but it appeared that the entire Octopus system fell apart as I could not log in online or via the app until around 17:50 and could not set the mini up until 18:25. I am not sure I actually saved anything this time, I tend not to use much in that window anyway, it was a very short window and my washing machine was already running, I did not cook then but I also needed to get some work finished so laptop and monitor were on, which I tend to avoid during the saving sessions.

My 4 th saver session on 14 th March and made 12 p with 98 octopoints  . Last one was 13 p . Now I m on Agile avoiding the 4 pm to 7 pm peak they are only reducing every session . Im in the draw for £1000 though. Has anyone actually won this amount ?
The prize is won every time (sometimes they name names which MSE do not permit) - the odds however are very long and the chances of personally knowing a winner are almost zero as are the chances of one of the handful of users of this thread being a winner (costs nothing to be in the draw though)

This year’s ‘Saving Sessions’ has eclipsed the last with over 1.2 million customers now signed up

As far as I can tell, when they send out the Whatsapp message, their web site and app crashes and can't be accessed for about 30 minutes as everyone tries to opt in at the same time - happened to me as well yesterday.

It's worth downloading the Octo-Aid app, the notification of the Savings Session came through much earlier than the official Octopus one.

I'm new to Octoplus. I'm on Agile, so doubt we have much scope to reduce usage if the saving sessions are between 4-7pm, as we are already shifting everything we reasonably can out of this time frame.
My question is around the free electricity sessions. What happens if the Agile price is negative in a free electricity session?
Presumably there is no harm in opting in to Octoplus, even if you are unlikely to benefit from it? You don't get charged more for failing to reduce your usage (used more than your baseline) in a saving session, or anything?

I suppose it is quite likely that the two would coincide, and it would be quite mean of Octopus to give away for free what they'd otherwise be paying you to use.

There have not actually been any free electricity sessions so far (apart from very small ones in specific regions), we might get some in summer if there are some very windy and sunny days, but nothing so far.

I live in a postcode with the power ups and have had two 3 hour power up sessions this week. Very handy and it definitely makes you shift your usage to maximise the free electricity. I am on tracker so not seen the impact on Agile. However, I don’t think they have coincide with a negative price slot

Do you have to opt in to the free leccy sessions? If so, and if Agile is going negative, then don't opt in.
