If I were you, I think I would indeed reset everything and then trust the heaters to do their thing. You will still need to set up your heating schedule - which I assume you set on “home all day” as you WFH? The Quantums should manage their own storage time effectively though.

I found a small digital thermometer very helpful for monitoring what temperature various areas of the property were actually reaching too - and generally speaking, I found that the output setting on the quantum equalled around 2° lower in actual achieved temperature - although that may well vary depending on your room layout, where the heaters are etc.
Excellent, I thought 'Home All Day' was going to Increase Costs considerably as it's a Lot of Hours.
My personal use needs heating from 6 a.m until 19:00
Though I thought I could save by Limiting or Excluding Afternoon Hours.
Maybe I've been Reducing potential storage hours rather than costs.
I don't use a thermostat though can purchase one, ive seen DQ Offset %'s via settings.

    thanks appreciated.

No, the change from July to October for a dual-fuel customer was from £1976 to £1834 on an equivalent TDCV basis, a reduction of approx. 7%. See Annex 1 for a full breakdown.
For some reason, I can't see an Annex 1 in your link. I used this site to compare prices in Oct 2022 vs Oct 2023.

The "typical E7 customer" uses 58% of their electricity on the day rate. That typical customer will see an 11% decrease in their energy costs on SP's new tariff.
I would argue that someone using 58% electricity on day rate almost certainly has an alternate source for heating and should really not be on an E7 tariff. If it's true that this is the average then it explains why E7 prices are so distorted.

    Excellent mser's

    1. Today there are No alernative Supp's competative deals, very similar for everyone I guess.
    2.  I've Reset DQ- I recall why I avoided 'Home All Day' it's pre set 08:00-21:00
though I'm going to try it today tomorrow and if not too costly until whenever.
    3. Offset is Pre Set 30%~ from Factory Reset.

I think I'll alter Home All Day to make times 2 hrs earlier each day.
    06:00-19:00
    thanks very useful thread appreciated.

Home all day may well increase your costs - trial and error required I think!

Note I was talking about use of a digital thermometer to monitor actual room temperatures, NOT a thermostat that would control the heating output.

Sorry to hear that. Annex 1 is a bit big to screenshot, so here's Annex 2 instead:

Do you mean Jul 23 to Oct 23? Because that's the period over which the SP email refers.
In Oct 22 the cap was £3549 and single-rate electricity was over 50p/kWh. I don't know SP's E7 rates for that period but 70p day, 30p night wouldn't surprise me.
The site you used doesn't state the cap was £2500 in either Jul 23 or Oct 22. What it does say is that in Oct 22 the EPG was introduced to keep energy prices down to a £2500 equivalent level.

You can argue with Ofgem then. That's their figure.

I'm sorry if I may have been inaccurate with my terminology. I'm just a basic consumer and not involved with the energy industry on a professional basis or as an investor. I agree that the £2,500 figure was down to a combination of price cap and Energy Price Guarantee. Either way, the total amount the average user was expected to pay on a standard variable tariff is correct.

Those Annex chargers are basically what I'm billed, inc' Oct-Dec '23 for latest.
Maybe Home All Day can help reduce 199- looking forward to monitor this week.

    I've rounded up 5hrs x Night rate+SC =£1.51 -not £4.67
+ Water Heats Up during Night Rate|+Early Morning Smart Lights.
old school storage Heater In Hall.
    Does £4.67 sound right?

    thanks
