Just wanted to pop in and say Happy Christmas to you all

Ham is cooked, cake is iced, gratin potatoes baking, veg is prepped, anything else can wait til tomorrow.

Once I finish stripping and making the beds I'm going to sit down and pick up some knitting and relax while DH takes the kids to granny and gran'pas for half an hour.

Just had a 5 year old come up to me with a beaming face and say "He's REALLY coming". It's all worth it.

Hope you all have a good one.

    (Off to read the thread)

PS for those of you who have to see a christmas movie over the holidays - I recommend "Fred Claus" much better than I was expecting. Vince Vaughan is great. As is Kevin Spacey. Not twee, not slapstick, just funny and christmassy.

Not read everything for last couple of days.

DD and DSIL put on a wonderful buffet for the family yesterday. I was rather not nice to my Mum at one point but have put it right. Lovely having DS and partner over allbeit a flying visit. He was harbouring flu but after a few drinks OK. The remote control cars they have bought the boys are unbelievable. They had to check them in as baggage! Santa has a big problem delivering here but I did e-mail him yesterday!!!!!!!!!

I am having my Christmas cry just now as thinking and wondering about my birth Mum and whether she thinks of me and wondering about my Darling daughter I gave up for adoption (does she think of me I wonder?) Going to have a fantastic day tomorrow with DD, SIL and boys!

Love and Christmas hugs to all.

Thanks for your messages. Being a Chrismas Day baby has always been an issue with me. DGSs yesterday said, No Granny, it can't be your birthday too! I know my family will make it special for me. DS should have been late January but he made his appearance 29th Dec. Always did special birthday for him.

Water Board here today hopefully doing repairs (a week after problem reported). Gave the guys a couple of beers so hopefully sorted.

  • Happy birthday tomorrow Grannybroon

Well, I've spent all afternoon on my feet in the kitchen preparing for tomorrow and tonight's supper. I've finally finished more or less and I'm knackered and have just sat down with a quince vodka -I know it is a bit early, but it's Christmas don't you know:D

I have my goose fat rendering down in a pan, a piece of gammon boiling away for supper (will bake it later for 30 mins smeared with honey and mustard. There is red cabbage and apples braising in the oven along with some jacket potatoes. I've made a mincemeat and apple crumble and whipped the cream.

Might go and have a shower in a mo and maybe a damson gin;) :santa2:

Hugs GB. Of course your birth mum and your daughter think of you.

My mum never knew her father, only his name, and I still wonder if he's alive and what he's doing if he is (my mum is no longer alive, but I know she wondered about him too).

Cranky.,..................had trouble with my crowns only mine chipped at the back. Emergency appt. with dentist is this Friday (28th) but I got some stuff from local chemist -sort of DIY filling kit and one that sticks crowns as well..........just in case the chips worsened and the crown fell off............they're the teeth right at the front.........don't want that to happen Christmas Day
Havent used the filling kit so far...........got a bit timid about getting the stuff in the right placeand so far teeth are holding.
Might be bit late to get to the chemist now Cranky but if you can get something like that as soon as they open after Christmas it might help.
I sympathise with you. Teeth are a blessed nuisance when they first arrive and it doesn't seem to get much better when you get older. Good luck

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
