    Hi guys.

Looks like my partne's switch DD has messed up.  So barclays did the switch from Nationwide on 24/11.  The two active DDs in my nationwide account were Moneybox and Plum.  Whereas Moneybox has been successful is transferring to Barclays and even managed to collect a DD payment on 27/11, Plum on the other hand has moved over to Barclays, but we've got a message on the Plum app that it has lost the link with the bank.  On barclays app, it shows both Moneybox and Plum, but Plum DD shows a message that no payments have been collected yet.

Have we messed up and is there any way of fixing this?  Thanks for your help.
CASS switches transfer payments, but they do not transfer Open Banking connections. You will need to set one up for Barclays.
Thanks masonic.  Doesn't that mean that Barclays will assume that only 1 DD rather than 2 have been transferred because Barclays want 2 active DDs, whereas the Plum DD has been deactivated?  Also is it compulsory for me to set up Plum to get the Barclays switch incentive or can I get away without doing this?
The Plum DD will have most probably transferred OK. The Open Banking connection is a separate thing. You don;t even need to reconnect it to Barclays if you don't want.

Direct Debits and Open Banking connections are separate. Plum needs both in order to do its thing, so if you have set up a weekly DD pull to fulfil the Blue Rewards requirements going forward for example, you will need to set up a new OB connection. You will be able to see via the Barclays app which DDs were successfully switched.

My Plum account has not had a valid Open Banking connection for about 6 months and I've moved the Plum DD to four different banks in that time. They nag me about it occasionally but the DDs work fine. OB is only required if you want Plum to do the automatic saving sweep thing.

I've just made the switch to Barclays and completed all the steps (sign up in app, open Blue Rewards, switch account which they say will be done by 8th December). For the Blue Rewards criteria, does anyone know if its pay in £800 and pay two DDs each CALENDAR month or each month you're with them (for example if you joined on the 15th would a "month" be 15th to 15th)? I can pay in £800 from a donor account, but I can't pay DDs today as they've already been done for this month. I don't want to tick into December tomorrow and have them charge me £5 for not having fulfilled the £800 and 2x DDs for November, or will they not pay attention as I'm signing up on the last day of November?

I'm also thinking how long it takes for the reward cash to arrive. I know the article on here says allow 28 working days, just wondering if it is usually 28 days or if anyone has had theirs sooner. It's not a huge issue as I will be staying with them for all of December so that my DDs can pay out. Unless anyone knows whether you can switch out sooner (without paying the DDs) and not get penalised for the £5 fee?!

    Thanks!
It's per calendar month, and the fee is taken on the 2nd working day of the month after you first join Blue Rewards. I believe that as long as you cancel before the final day of the month you can avoid the next month's fee.

Some of us got paid the incentive a week or two ago in a big batch payment. There was some discussion earlier that the next batches might happen on 02Dec and 02Jan, so watch this space I guess.

Excellent, so that should be this coming Monday the 4th then, if it's the second working day. I will transfer money tomorrow then when it's actually December, and then the DDs can get sorted later in the month. I've just found the option to Leave Blue Rewards in the app so I'll get that done before the end of December as well.

I would imagine if I've just signed up today then 2nd December would be a bit soon for me to get the switch bonus, and if the other date is 2nd January then I'd guess it will be then. Presumably don't need to still have Blue Rewards active at the time, as I intend to deactivate it before the end of December.

Evening guys, quick last minute question please! All switched, signed up to Blue Rewards etc, but no email confirmation or anything that I've switched - normally do with banks - did anyone else, or is it just an email on day three to confirm it's progressing? Thanks!
I've signed up and switched today as well, I haven't had a confirmation email or anything either, and they do have my email address. I did have a screen in the app after I'd done the switch stating that the switch would be complete by 8th December. And as Mickeymacca pointed out as well, I looked at the Documents section (in app go to More, Statements and Documents, Documents), and I've got four things there, one of which is a Current Account Welcome. I'm presuming this in in place of a confirmation email!

Mr AN received a highly amusing text message just a few moments ago:

We're really sorry, we closed your Blue Rewards wallet by mistake. Thanks for re-joining, but there's a problem on our side which means we'll need to close your wallet again so we can fix things in the background. As soon as we've sorted it, we'll send you another text so you can sign up to Blue Rewards again in the app (T&Cs apply, 11+) or Online Banking. Thanks so much for bearing with us. Your Barclays team

Two days ago I logged into the Barclays app to find the Blue Rewards wallet missing, although the Cashback Rewards wallet was still there. I was able to join Blue Rewards again, and also literally "re-register" for Cashback Rewards from inside the Cashback Rewards wallet as the "Redeem and View offers" had been replaced by a "re-register" button (£10 cashback doesn't seem to have been affected).

As of now, Barclays has yet to close the Blue Rewards wallet for the second time. Their backend must be hilarious. I'm waiting to see how much more of a catastrophic mess they can make of this; I can already smell the compensation.

They do seem to have difficulty differentiating between different members of the same household. First a switch involving a partner's account, now this!
I've also noticed some other glitches. Since having my Barclaycard profile merged with my new Barclays profile, I've lost access to all documents issued to the old profile (such as all of my historic credit card statements). Although I can see all of my accounts within the Barclays app, I can see everything except my Barclaycard in the Barclaycard app.

Ahh thanks for confirming and reassuring me guys.  Got really worried as both of our barclays accounts have still not been paid the switch incentive, so feeling a bit anxious that it won't work. I'm sure some of you will do it differently, but for the sake of a couple of quid, I've re-setup the Plum DD again and even added £1 via Paypal.  Cheers again!

Ok, i know i left it late. But in the last 30mins i

Found my PIN by registering to online banking
Opened the app on my phone and logged in with my PIN
    Done the switch
Joined Blue Rewards and the wallet appears in my app
Transferred £800 into my Barclays account and it already shows in my Barclays account

I know I did all of this by 9:30pm 30th Nov. But am i still eligible for the bonus?

Does the £800 need to be in the main account or the blue rewards wallet?

I don't see why you would be eligible, the main article on MSE says you need to have started the switch before 11:59pm tonight and you've done all that so you should be good. I only made my switch this afternoon and and the main switching page (right at the start) it mentioned the switching bonus, and when I was finished switching the screen said the switch said it should be completed by 8th December. I wasn't sure about transferring money either, but if you look above you can see my original message and a reply from PRAISETHESUN about dates and transfers and such.

Hope that helps. I think a few of us are a bit unsure (and there are several posts in here about people having a few issues). Fingers crossed!
