The T&C state that the switch must be started by today, and complete within 30 days. I'm not sure when my DD's will be showing in the donor account, so I would like to delay the switch towards the end of the 30day period. But the app does not give the option to choose a switch date. It defaults to 7 working days.
If the switch completes before the DD's appear, will the old bank redirect them later? And then would they count? Or is there a way of delaying the switch?
I started the switch yesterday and tried to ask them for switch delay today via the app message and the person I chatted with was most unhelpful. basically just telling me what a switch was and then even claiming I wasn‘t eligible because of a previous Barclays account, which was closed back in July. So I wouldn‘t be hopeful but if you manage plz let me know how.

    Hi guys.

Looks like my partne's switch DD has messed up.  So barclays did the switch from Nationwide on 24/11.  The two active DDs in my nationwide account were Moneybox and Plum.  Whereas Moneybox has been successful is transferring to Barclays and even managed to collect a DD payment on 27/11, Plum on the other hand has moved over to Barclays, but we've got a message on the Plum app that it has lost the link with the bank.  On barclays app, it shows both Moneybox and Plum, but Plum DD shows a message that no payments have been collected yet.

Have we messed up and is there any way of fixing this?  Thanks for your help.
CASS switches transfer payments, but they do not transfer Open Banking connections. You will need to set one up for Barclays.

I've just made the switch to Barclays and completed all the steps (sign up in app, open Blue Rewards, switch account which they say will be done by 8th December). For the Blue Rewards criteria, does anyone know if its pay in £800 and pay two DDs each CALENDAR month or each month you're with them (for example if you joined on the 15th would a "month" be 15th to 15th)? I can pay in £800 from a donor account, but I can't pay DDs today as they've already been done for this month. I don't want to tick into December tomorrow and have them charge me £5 for not having fulfilled the £800 and 2x DDs for November, or will they not pay attention as I'm signing up on the last day of November?

I'm also thinking how long it takes for the reward cash to arrive. I know the article on here says allow 28 working days, just wondering if it is usually 28 days or if anyone has had theirs sooner. It's not a huge issue as I will be staying with them for all of December so that my DDs can pay out. Unless anyone knows whether you can switch out sooner (without paying the DDs) and not get penalised for the £5 fee?!

    Thanks!
  • What a shame, I had a donor Metro account all ready to go with a couple of very-last-minute Direct Debits. I tried to sign up via the app but it changed my details based on my driver's license (I have two middle names, the second of which is shown as just an initial), and when I corrected it it said my ID couldn't be verified and I'd need to make an appointment in-branch.

    How very disappointing.

It's per calendar month, and the fee is taken on the 2nd working day of the month after you first join Blue Rewards. I believe that as long as you cancel before the final day of the month you can avoid the next month's fee.

Some of us got paid the incentive a week or two ago in a big batch payment. There was some discussion earlier that the next batches might happen on 02Dec and 02Jan, so watch this space I guess.
  • Can anyone tell me with the £800 is it ok to put in £400 take it out then transfer it back again will this qualify or has it got to be one single transaction of £800  TIA.

It doesn't matter. It could be 800 x £1 if you want but if you're unsure check the T&Cs. If it has to be one payment it will say exactly that. If it just says pay in £800 then it can be any combination
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Evening guys, quick last minute question please! All switched, signed up to Blue Rewards etc, but no email confirmation or anything that I've switched - normally do with banks - did anyone else, or is it just an email on day three to confirm it's progressing? Thanks!

Thanks masonic.  Doesn't that mean that Barclays will assume that only 1 DD rather than 2 have been transferred because Barclays want 2 active DDs, whereas the Plum DD has been deactivated?  Also is it compulsory for me to set up Plum to get the Barclays switch incentive or can I get away without doing this?
