  • My nationwide switch is completing today. It is all dependant on the switch bonus dropping in the account overnight but if it does can I still do this switch tomorrow and get the incentive or does the switch need to have been done by now?

My Nationwide bonus was paid a few days after switch completion and they require that the Nationwide account is still open when they pay the bonus so you might be out of luck.

The Barclays T&C wording says "...before the offer closes on 30th November" but whether that the start or the end of the 30th is anyone's guess.

If the Nationwide money comes in time then definitely try the switch tomorrow but don't hold your breath.
  • I have been following (and contributing to this thread in case anyone suggests I go back and read the whole thing) just wondering if anyone who already got the switch incentive didn't pay in £800 for the blue rewards?

Well i'm stuck waiting for my PIN for my card to come through the post. I got my card Monday but if my PIN doesn't come today or tomorrow then I'm done and lose out on the bonus.

Called Barclays and they won't help over the phone or personally in the bank. I'm solely reliant on the post in my area.
I'm thinking of switching for this offer but I haven't started yet.

Why do you need a Barclays PIN to start an account switch?

Has ANYBODY had a reward payout since last Mondays 'batch'?

I was quite surprised to get my payout so quickly having only completed the switch on, I think, the previous Friday - but partner, whose switch completed we thought on the same day, has had nothing yet.......

Nope. Started the switch on 3rd November, completed on the 10th. Still not received the switch incentive.
That makes me wonder if, in their eyes, you have not met the criteria. They have 28 days to pay it but they have paid other folks with later completions than you so it might be worth asking them sooner rather than later.

I have asked via the chat in the app - just get a standard response "the incentive will be paid within 28 days of switch completing if you have fulfilled the conditions".
I honestly believe this is the most awkward of all the banks I have dealt with - including TSB, which is saying something...

I am wondering if instead of paying all the switch incentives up to last Monday as initially thought (given the number of posts since from people who's switches completed before that and no incentive) if last Mondays payments wasnt some sort of dummy run/system test to check it was working system wise, and as such a random selection was paid to then ready for further down the line.

I am unable to remember when barclays last did a switch incentive for a lump payment like this, as the last ones i recall were not for one off payments but for double/triple blue rewards (back in the day when they actually could make people a reasonable amount of money and not £5 in for a £5 out etc).

as such, maybe it was a batch of payments to test the incentive systems? either that or the offer has been more successful than anticipated and haven't been able to get the payments out as yet.

Have you looked in the Barclays Bank app? If you click on 'More' - the three dots at bottom right of the Home screen (Android) - it brings up a menu that includes 'Cards'. Selecting that gives me the option to view my card details and PIN.

I did not pay in £800 for Blue Rewards, I have had the incentive payment and cancelled BR.
