I set up a paypal and gocardless direct debit for £1 a month so two direct debits for the switch. After it switches, can I just do two direct debits with Paypal in the month and delete the gocardless one altogether (meaning I have only Paypal direct debit showing on the account) to save me £1 a month or do you have to have two different direct debits going out from different places?
Two pulls from the same DD will qualify for the £5 reward.

Continued...The app then directed me to the website and I was able to continue with my application as this did not ask for photo ID. I did not submit my application as I don't think I would get the bonus as the application was not made on the app. Probably better to ask for clarification in a branch next week.
I think you'd need to submit the application via the app. Presumably you've already tried going back to the app to submit it, after your progress via the website?
Thanks. It isn't possible to go back to the app. to submit the form.
If I find out anything from the branch I will post on here.
  • Having missed out on the NW one by a couple of months, looking at this one now.  I have a burner account I put 2 charity dds on last month.  They've not pulled yet but are showing on the account.  They won't pull till next month so would they count for this switch offer do you think?
  • Anyone know if a debit card purchase of a gift card on airtimes reward qualifies for the 5% cashback up to £200, thus in effect getting 9% back?

Well I'm not sure what happens now. I went through the app (android) and applied for an account, was told I was successful and then the app said - swipe up. I swiped up, opened the app again and now it is asking me to register and provide an activation code, which I don't have.

I've got nothing else, no emails, no texts, apart from the one to confirm my identity. Is it likely my account will open okay?

I had that temporarily as well. I went back to the app 10-15 minutes later and it let me swipe up and continue to my account.
  • All good with me now. Switch completed, received card, already had £10 cashback for November. I've also had two direct debits taken, now just got to see whether I get the £5 reward at the start of next month. The guy at Barclays says I wont as I haven't paid the £5 fee yet, some posters on here say I will so I guess we'll see. I don't mind either way, at worse I'll make £190 on the deal. Happy days.
  • I received my £175 switch incentive this morning
  • when did your switch complete @Stargunner ?
  • Really sorry if this has already been addressed, but I've read through the topic and can't find a clear answer. I'm switching from an account with two technically 'active' but dormant DDs related to a couple of zero balance credit cards. I'm not going to use them anytime soon, so they won't pay out once the donor account they are currently sat with transfers, and I'm happy to take the £5 hit on the Blue Rewards as I will still make £170. My question is: do I still need to bother with the £800 if I already know I'm not going to meet the criteria to avoid the £5 fee, or will not paying in £800 torpedo the £175?
  • My £175 was paid this morning, my switch completed on the 16th.
