    Hi guys,

Do you have to move in the £800 to get the incentive?

I understand you need to join blue rewards to qualify, and in order to get the £5 reward you need to transfer in £800.

But could I join rewards, not pay in £800, and still get the incentive?

    Thanks
The terms are, pay in £800 and join blue rewards, it's in the switch offer T&C's
There is no mention in the T&Cs about paying in £800!

The only (slight) downside to not paying in £800 is that you will be charged £5 for Blue Rewards, but you will receive no reward, so you'll get the incentive and just be a fiver down.
I suppose it's correct what you say if you intend to ditch/switch away from the account once you've had the incentive paid. If like me I'll keep it for a while as it's paying two of my DD's out it needs funding with £800 each month.
An afterthought, can after the incentives been paid downgrade the account to avoid the paying in/out each month which also does away with the blue rewards? I'll just be using it with the DD's in place until such when the next switch opportunity surfaces.

My husband and I have both successfully opened the Barclays account and have now received debit cards/PIN numbers so have been able to re-register our apps.  I won't bore you with the details albeit to say patience has paid off!

My question is regarding DDs.  I moved a couple of existing utilities DDs from another bank account to a NatWest current account I planned to use for this switch because there were no DDs there.  However, the speed of the switch (within 7 days) has meant those two DDs are not showing anywhere and my NatWest account was closed following the switch yesterday.  Both DDs are due out on 1st month so December.  Will NatWest simply send the requests across to Barclays next month?  If not what happens please because I know you need two active DDs for the incentive to be paid.  I've met all the other criteria and can maintain that eg paying in £800 and joining the Blue Rewards.

Thankfully my husband has not started his switch so we have a few more days to ensure the DDs are firmly in place.

    Any advice welcome.

Check your barclays account to see if the direct debits are listed. Natwest is one of the banks which only lists direct debits if they've paid out once, so even if they weren't showing in Natwest, they may have still been "active". If they're not listed in the direct debit section of your barclays account then you need to set up those direct debits again. Generally Direct Debits get "copied" over in the first few days of the Switch, so if they weren't "active" at that point then they won't be copied over (also means you probably won't be eligible for the £175).

If the direct debits aren't showing in your barclays account now the switch has been done, but you still want the incentive, you might have to set up some "easy" to set up account like Starling/Monzo/Metro/Chase etc. Set up some easy direct debits like Moneybox/Plum/Paypal on that account, wait a few days for the DD to become active (varies how long, 3-5 days usually, but I can tell you Metro and Chase at the very least do show direct debits as soon as they're active unlike Natwest), and get a second switch going before the 30th.
  • I've just opened an account but I haven't seen anything on the app about account switching.  Am I missing something?

  • Once you have opened the account in the app.
Click on products at the bottom and under services is the option to start a switch.
also it’s there to join Blue Rewards

After following this thread from the beginning, I though this switch was going to be a nightmare. I have to say that I found it incredible smooth to open the account. It's a bit annoying that you have to then do the switch manually and open Blue rewards, but that was also fairly quick. It's also frustrating that I now have to wait 4 days to get my £800 back but can't complain too much for £175.

I set up a paypal and gocardless direct debit for £1 a month so two direct debits for the switch. After it switches, can I just do two direct debits with Paypal in the month and delete the gocardless one altogether (meaning I have only Paypal direct debit showing on the account) to save me £1 a month or do you have to have two different direct debits going out from different places?

Something to watch out for. As previously stated in this thread I have no photo ID. Downloaded the App to my Iphone and started to open a current account. I was asked about photo ID and replied that I didn't have this.

Continued...The app then directed me to the website and I was able to continue with my application as this did not ask for photo ID. I did not submit my application as I don't think I would get the bonus as the application was not made on the app. Probably better to ask for clarification in a branch next week.

Two pulls from the same DD will qualify for the £5 reward.

I think you'd need to submit the application via the app. Presumably you've already tried going back to the app to submit it, after your progress via the website?
