Indeed! Andy has updated and confirmed his advice since I posted on his site thread (and on this thread) that I'd had a conversation with them, my having being informed on the phone to Barclays Complaints that that was not their intention, but it was to prevent existing customers at the start of the offer simply closing and re-applying.

Andy is on the same page as Martin and with the literal interpretation of the switcher T&Cs.

I've just got the Nationwide incentive and I'm in the process of setting up Plum and Moneybox so that I can then switch into Barclays.  My only concern is that I've read somewhere that you must have NEVER had a barclays account.  The last Barclays account myself or my partner had was around 18-20 years ago.  So is this not acceptable?

Officially yes you have to be a brand new customer.

Assuming those old accounts are no longer open it might be worth a shot to see how long their memories are unless anybody else is able to clarify more

Yeah, we're all quite confused but I'm pressing ahead with a switch anyway. Worst case it costs me a bit of time.

The confusing bit of the T&Cs is the last bit of this:

You will not be eligible for this offer if:

• You already hold a Barclays Basic Bank Account,  Barclays Bank Account, Barclays Bank Account with a Personal Overdraft, Barclays Bank Account with Blue Rewards, Platinum Bank Account, Mortgage Current Account, or a Premier Current Account on the date of application or [before 31st October 2023]

No-one is quite sure what to make of those square brackets!

Today I have dived in 

Opened an account with the app, answered all the questions 

Deposited £10 joined blue rewards 

Selected the switch all in 15 minutes painlessly 

Not received any confirmation so I'll wait and see how it goes
