Oh I love these suggestions!!! Made me chuckle about the cardboard boxes!
Fairly quiet weekend - mostly spent at home doing crafty bits (when I really should have been doing housework!) I did walk to the post office to send off the advent (I hope she appreciates the re-use/ recycle mentality!) I then went round my friend's house for brunch and a natter - as it was daylight I was able to park for free and walk the 10 minutes to her flat rather than pay to park.
Whilst there I was chatting about wanting a tablet and saying how they could help me choose as don't really know what I'm looking at! He OH kindly said he has one that he doesn't use so will wipe it and I can have it for free! This couple in particular have been really looking after me the last few months - I'm so lucky!
Quick update on ex... there is no update! He hasn't done anything towards moving out (packing etc)!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)3 -

Today's bits and bobs...
- Take something out of freezer for dinner tonight
- Give jury forms to boss for them to complete a section re salary info
- See what "room" I have in December budget to account for any shortfall due to jury service - essentially create a "bare bones" budget
- Will need to work out what to do with December budget - I normally access it on my work computer but obviously won't be at work!

Good luck with everything!01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

Had a good chat with bosses yesterday about jury duty and my financial situation. They have agreed that if I am sent home at lunch or not needed any day in court, then I can come into work. My job isn't necessarily something that I can simply walk in and roll with something as I have ongoing matters - but I may just effectively be my boss' assistant for the interim! So I appreciate their understanding and it will help subsidise the measly amount that the court will pay (which hasn't gone up since pre-February 2021!)
Also had a NSD yesterday - although I need petrol and some food shopping today. I also realised that I had in my head that my December pay (i.e. next week) will be impacted by jury duty - it won't, it will be my pay at the end of December. So my plan is to try save as much from next week's pay to have a buffer at the end of the month to cover any shortfall. Both my parents and brother have also said they will help out, but I really want to do this myself - but that may not be possible. I do of course have my £1,000 emergency fund but the "jury is still out" on if I will end up giving anything to ex, which would potentially wipe that out.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Today's bits and bobs:
- Make a rough meal plan
- Use meal plan to guide shopping list - also need to stock up on cleaning products ready for my deep clean when ex has gone (have been lacking on the motivation to clean recently!)
- Work on christmas gift on my lunch break - should get it finished this week and then on to the next! I've also decided to make a gift for my friend who has been particularly looking after me - materials will be from stash
- Check petrol prices on my way home and see where is cheapest
- Look out car tax renewal letter as must not forget to do this in all the chaos! I have the money set aside as I save monthly - although a thought has just popped into my head... opt to pay monthly and then I'll have £150 extra as a buffer for end of December?

Might be a good idea to opt monthly for the car tax even if just for a few months and then buy for the year at a later date (if that's even an option?). Could also move it to a better month to be paying for it annually. When we've bought new (to us) cars we usually buy 6 months tax as they tend to come with MOT which means we split when the MOT and tax are due so buying 6 months instead of year might also be an option worth looking at.
