  • Thinking of you on deadline day. Hope you're okay and everything is going to plan x
  • Fingers crossed all going ok...
  • Just caught up and hope it all went OK with him leaving.

My advice would be to use this time to create a spreadsheet with a list of what he actually owes you. Don't include mortgage costs as you don't want him to have any claim on that. But start with 50% of bills and go from there. Then work out what he has actually paid you. If he is wanting to claim on work done years ago you may have to go back that far. Remember banks keep statements for 10 years. I think you may then be able to go back to him with the offer for £1000 as a deposit and first month as a lodger elsewhere. If you do offer anything then make sure he signs a legal document to say he won't make any other future claims.

But I have to say I agree, reality is he won't want the cost, a lawyer will tell him he has little chance of getting anything.

With the way he has treated you in the last 6 months does it matter what kind of relationship you have now with him?

Please don't get yourself into more debt for him, he's had enough from you already.

  • I really feel there should be an emergency MSE cord you can pull if you're worried about someone and one of Martin Lewis's team goes and checks if they're okay.
Hope everything's alright Twiggy. DM me or any of us if you need an ear but don't feel like posting x
Totally agree! Am feeling really unnerved by the whole situation.

Is there any way the admins can check on someone’s wellbeing?
Getting really worried about the OP; they’ve not been on since the 24th November

IIRC the OP was due to go on jury service last week. It's not uncommon for posters to vanish from their threads, but hopefully there will be an update soon.
