So today was a good news/ bad news day! Good news - I’ve been discharged from jury service which means I can go back to work and getting paid! Bad news - I’ve been discharged from jury service and now don’t get to hear it all! There was new evidence uncovered which is leading to significant delays and so they discharged us all and will start the trial with a new jury next year! Boss is overjoyed!Todays bits and bobs…
- Make lunch to take to work
- Go to work for the morning as wasn’t needed in court until this afternoon
- Had hoped to update my spreadsheet while I was there but didn’t have a chance - however now I’m back to normal, I can do it any time
- Have a friend coming over for dinner tonight so been to the shop to get a few bits - main reason she’s coming is to use the shower as her boiler has packed up (good job dad has fixed it!)
- Pop to cheapest local place for petrol
- Snap receipts in app
Right need to do a quick bit of crochet before my friend gets here!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Good news indeed you can go back to work, but that's a bit mean leaving you with a cliffhanger
Lovely you can help your friend out, and that your home is now all yours to have people round as you like!

Morning all!
Back at my work computer - feels strange and like I wasn't ready for it yet after such an abrupt end!
Today's bits and bobs...- Take leftover pad thai to work for lunch
- Put all my spends into my spreadsheet (all noted in my little notebook so won't be a big task)
- Bigger task will be seeing why things didn't quite work out correctly as seemed to be about £20 short (so couldn't do all my pot shuffling!) - I'm sure I just mis-read something and transferred the wrong amount! (I feel like @foxgloves and her mystery!)
- Message brother to chase something needed by my dad
- Message aunt to thank her for a beautiful jumpsuit she was getting rid of
- Work on Christmas present at lunch
- Dinner will be simple beans on sour dough - sour dough baked by my boss!
- See if I can pop something in to my besties mum's while I'll be passing to save postage to send to bestie
- Pop to friends to see if I can borrow something for a funeral I have on Sunday (requested people to wear something green)
- Netball tonight which is already in the budget

Bah to the budget mystery, @twiggy86. It's so annoying, isn't it, when one has budgeted carefully. I massively overthought the cause of my recent extra money. I should have checked the bills & outgoings spreadsheet more thoroughly as the error was perfectly visible. Let's hope that £20 pops up somewhere & it is an accounting discrepancy rather than an actual shortage.

Good news! I found the "missing" money! Once I plugged everything into my spreadsheet (which I didn't manage to do yesterday but did this morning) I could see that my "bills" account had £16.99 extra in it - which just happens to be the amount of my monthly DDs which come out of a different account (but are in the same section of my spreadsheet). So that has now been rectified and I made the last little "shuffle"!
My day changed slightly yesterday and was incredibly busy back at work, so I didn't have the chance to do a few things on my list - so apologies for the repetition!- Put all my spends into my spreadsheet
- Find "missing" money
- Opt in to energy saving "event"
- Ask boss if he will be able to calculate what my pay will be at the end of the month
- Message aunt to thank her for a beautiful jumpsuit she was getting rid of
- Work on Christmas present at lunch
- Dinner will be simple beans on sour dough (Had something different last night as I had more time, so will have this tonight)
- See if I can pop something in to my besties mum's while I'll be passing
- Pop to friends to see if I can borrow something for a funeral
- Netball tonight which is already in the budget

Yay to finding the 'missing' money. My budget check-in went the other way today as I had £7 too much, but I don't intend combing through everything. If it is still there on my next Big Budget Day, I'll bung it into the Meow Fund towards Soot & Ash's new scratching posts.

We won at netball last night! That's two nights in a row! (We don't win very often - but always have fun!) I also managed to borrow a few green options from my friend last night for the funeral tomorrow.
I was meant to be meeting a friend in town tonight after work but I finally caught the cold that everyone has had, so may give it a miss. If I do go, I will drive and drink coke so won't be expensive. Because of said cold, I texted a friend (in her 70s) that I was meant to be going for lunch with on Sunday - we have decided to re-schedule for the new year rather than her catch it just before Christmas. Which is probably a good thing as I've had a busy week and so haven't managed to make much progress on the crochet dragon!
Enough waffle - on to today's bits and bobs...- Make lunch to take to work - plus brought my honey and lemon!
- Post something to my best friend on way to work (her parents weren't going to see her again before Christmas)
- Fingers crossed, work on present at lunch
- Print a free pattern at work - a mini Xmas jumper to put on my tree to use up end of yarn (although my tree is still actually in the loft!)
- Parents are at mine today doing some sort of diy/ cleaning! I've got to the stage of just leaving them too it! I did message last night to ask what I owe them for any materials dad has bought so far - so kindly they've said not to worry about it as it only little bits
- Not sure what to have for dinner - may just have simple soup and sour dough!
- If I don't go anywhere tonight I may paint some clay ornaments I made last weekend

Back after a very quiet and low-spend weekend - I didn't go out Friday in the end as felt pretty rubbish. Funeral went well, although I found it harder than I thought as I think it released all my bottled up feelings. So been feeling quite down since.
I'm usually very festive but don't feel it this year and I have been having an internal argument on whether or not its worth putting up my Christmas decorations but I have decided that I will. My dad was at mine this morning and I asked him to leave the loft ladder down so that I can get the decorations down later (I'm "vertically challenged" and so can't reach the ladder myself!) Hopefully that will lift my spirits.
Today's bits and bobs:- Make lunch to take to work
- Update spreadsheet with the few spends from the weekend
- Work on present at lunch (made some good progress at the weekend!)
- Have a look into a Christmas present I'm planning - possibly an escape room - will have a look on Group0n for a deal
- Get Christmas decorations down from loft - plus wrapping paper to avoid buying any unnecessarily
- Speak to dad about door - he said he can't repair the one for the spare room but can get a new one for £64. I think I also want a door on the living room to help keep the heat in

You're bound to feel up and down and maybe a bit more down than up at the moment, you're navigating a lot emotionally and life-wise. It's good you're giving yourself the opportunity to feel festive should the mood take you xhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase
