Excellent news! I hope they can do it soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks beanielou and cherryfudge. We are so pleased. I suspect getting the funding was the quickest bit. Just a case of waiting, I’d be surprised if it was in by Christmas. Anyway the hard part is done.
Currently sat up at the allotment literally eating the fruits of my labour. Raspberries and grapes already consumed eyeing up an apple next. Just put in about 50 leeks another 30 to go. A bit late in to be honest but we’ve not had time obviously. If they do something great if not oh well. Gradually making headway and bringing it back to how it was. Lots of weeding still to do. Lettuce and radish seedlings are poking their way through the soil, so hopefully salads will still be part of the menu come autumn.
Right rest alarm has gone off, best get back to it.

Those caterpillars are huge and hideous, we started getting them a couple of years ago. They give me the major horrors every time I spot one. Never seen the moth sadly.Great news on the ramp.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I have to say they are not an attractive caterpillar redo.
Had a very blobby evening , had a lunchtea as I was hungry and I’d not had lunch due to getting engrossed at the allotment. However it was 4pm. It was leftovers from yesterday.Frugalness for today
1. lots of lovely ys items at the sm, came to £75.65 as needed several items that we had run out of .
2. Leftovers for tea and snacklets from the plot.
3. Harvested courgettes and cucumbers.
4. Free exercise with miss giddychops and the plot.
5. Bath water been used to flush the loo.
6. Reviewed our budget and decided to go through each bill over the next of weeks and see where we can make savings and write down when contracts are up for renewal.Love 🐞

Took mil to sm and got a couple of things that I couldn’t get yesterday. Miss giddychops was walked before she went on holiday to my mums and then onto kennels for a week as I’m taking mum on holiday next week.
Had to buy new gardening gloves as the allotment is a lot like the washing machine. You put both pairs of socks in but you don’t always get 2 back out. Took fil up to the plot where he happily puttered about and then fell asleep on the bench whilst I rescued 8 elephant hawk moth caterpillars from where I was weeding. I would love to see the actual moth it’s self, as it’s beautiful. Tied up the outdoor tomatoes impersonating triffids and snipped out the tips. Hoping they don’t get blight. Harvested apples, more cucumbers(sick of them now) , tomatoes, grapes, potatoes, blackberries and raspberries, well the raspberries came home in my belly.
Frugalness for today
1. Used natures tumble drier
2. Ys gluten free bread
3. Harvested the above . Used damaged apples to make dried apple rings (in the dehydrator), apple and blackberry crumble , another apple crumble and added some to the rumtopf. Cucumber, tomatoes, potatoes and chives used to make tea. There is enough for leftovers.
4. Free exercise via miss giddychops and the plot.5. The youngest had leftovers and an apple for tea.6. Shower water saved to flush loo.7. All waste food matter took up to the allotment to make compost rather than buy it.8. Resisted plants at the garden centre. I was hyper focused on gloves and was straight back out.
Plan for tomorrow is to meet up with my sister and go to the allotment in the evening.

The comment about the allotment being like the washing machine and ‘eating’ gloves made me smile. I FINALLY found a missing sock this morning …. in with my knickers! Been looking for that for months, literally! 😂
Productive day. Hope the rest of the prep for the holiday goes well 😊

Glad it made you smile kk.
Boring but essential housework done this morning and part of the afternoon, until my sister and her dog arrived for our walk. Lovely walk in the woods, moaned about our mutual parent in the only way children can. Talked about how we are enjoying life more at the moment as both of us are not in constant pain. After she left went to get a blackout blind for eldest room. Found a gorgeous one with kingfishers but it was more than 3x the price of the one I got in the end which was &18. Youngest meds picked up and then allotment once OH arrived home.
Frugalness for today.
1. OH took the eldest bike and dropped it off at a work colleagues place and they are going to service it and hopefully source a part for us. Not sure how much it will cost but will be a lot less than what we were going to be charged at a local company.2. Free exercise with my sister
3. leftovers for lunch and pudding
4. Harvested several more cucumbers (insisted OH takes them to work, also gave 2 to our allotment neighbour daughter) 10 baby courgettes( griddled those and froze them) and 2 buckets of potatoes (onto row 5 only another 6 to go)
5. HC2 form meant youngest meds were free
6. Dried apple rings filled 2 large ik jars.
7. Resisted the £50odd blind and bought the essential but boring cheaper blind.
8. Finished another book off the shelf (OH’s called badgerlands - a good read but it was written over 10 years . Although the arguments for culling or not still rage on) instead of buying a new book.

Not a lot happening this morning. Sat at the dr who is running late already. Caught up on other people’s diaries to take my mind off it. Have been for petrol ready for our trip tomorrow, just need to check the oil and windscreen wash later. Rearranged my friend to come at 11am but I might have to move it again at this rate.

Yes dr went well KK, she could feel what I could( dr in march couldn’t feel anything, which made me doubt myself) and is fairly certain it’s nothing serious (probably an inflamed gland or a cyst) but sending me for a scan.Arrived at our holiday accommodation, unfortunately no path to the village so it will be a car job. Although the accommodation is beautiful, the lack of path means we already know we won’t come back. We have set criteria for returns and that’s usually near the top of the list. Anyway looking forward to exploring the area. Tomorrow will start with a cooked breakfast, then a trip to sm before going onto the local seaside place to see their famous pier. Several galleries and art/ sculptures walks planned. Very much looking forward to waking the tiger, which I suspect the youngest will love. Forgot to bring my carers allowance letter so must ask OH to photo it for me on WhatsApp.Right time to watch and cheer on team GB at the Paralympic.
